Chapter 507: Chapter 473: Part 2

The few guys who had previously considered pursuing Yun Jiao: …

‘We’re not worthy!’

Whether man or woman, if someone was simply good-looking, others who felt they were plenty outstanding themselves might still consider pursuing them.

But if that person was ridiculously good-looking *and* ridiculously talented, most people would know their own limits.

They weren’t worthy.

Yun Jiao hadn’t even fully matured yet, but she was already so stunning it was impossible to look away. One could only imagine what she’d be like in the future.

After spending the day with Fifth Brother and saying goodbye to his buddies, Yun Jiao and her brothers didn’t head straight home. Instead, they went out for some grilled skewers.

Yun Jiao was old enough to drink now, but she didn’t particularly like the taste of beer.

Her brothers got her other beverages, like yogurt drinks and soda.

They were enjoying their meal when a few drunk men staggered boisterously to the next table. They started verbally harassing the three girls sitting there, and even began to get handsy.

“Hey girls, dressed so revealingly, why are you acting so innocent? I bet you’re in some kind of shady business. What’s the big deal if we touch you a little? It’s not like you’ll lose any skin over it.”

The three girls struggled, shouting and cursing at them.

With a half-eaten skewer still in one hand, Yun Jiao had already grabbed the stool she was sitting on with the other and swung it, smashing it into one of the men.

Yun Xiaowu and her other brothers also charged over, pinning the drunkards down and giving them a brutal beating.

“Ow! Hey! Do you have any idea who we are? Stop! Stop it…!”

The group of drunkards howled in pain as they were being beaten.

Yun Jiao said to the three girls, “You should get out of here, quickly.”

But the three girls had a strong sense of camaraderie.

“No way. If you get arrested, we’ll stay and testify that they were the ones who got handsy and harassed us first. You were coming to our defense.”

Yun Jiao glanced at them, then let them be.

There were eight men in total, and the stench of alcohol on them was nauseating.

The beating had sobered them up, but they were still shouting threats, vowing to make Yun Jiao’s group pay.

Yun Xiaowu sneered. “I’ll be waiting.”

The police arrived and took everyone away.

Yun Jiao left a stack of cash, around a thousand, for the owner of the barbecue stall.

“Sir, this is to cover the damages.”

Then, she went along with them to the police station.

When the police officers questioned them, Yun Jiao and her brothers answered cooperatively.

They were all university students, and from prestigious universities at that. One was an athlete who had won a medal at the Olympics; one was a household name, a huge celebrity; one had gotten into Qingbei at a remarkably young age; and the last one, while seeming less flashy, was also a student at a top-tier university.

Instantly, the officers’ favor tilted toward Yun Jiao’s group.

They looked like good students, not the type to stir up trouble.

But when their eyes fell upon the eight bruised and swollen men to the side, they couldn’t help but gasp.

‘They look absolutely wretched.’

The eight men were still clamoring for the police to uphold justice.

The three girls also stepped forward and recounted the entire incident, breaking into tears as they spoke.

“What’s wrong with how we’re dressed? Isn’t it normal for girls to want to look pretty? We weren’t even wearing anything that revealing.”

They just liked to dress up a little and wear fashionable, pretty clothes. Why should they be maliciously slandered for that, subjected to foul language, and even groped?

A female officer comforted the trio, her eyes filled with disgust as she looked at the eight drunks.

One of the hot-tempered male officers started yelling at them directly, “Did a little alcohol make you forget you’re human? Harassing women in front of all these people! Those siblings were acting in their defense!”

Although they had been a bit heavy-handed.

But the eight men’s behavior was clearly far more out of line.

It was only because times were more lenient now; back in the day, they would have been convicted of hooliganism, at the very least.

In the end, Yun Jiao’s group left the police station without any trouble, while the eight men were detained to be “educated.”

As for the injuries, the Yun siblings had been precise with their blows. They inflicted a lot of pain, but it was all superficial.

Even a doctor would have found nothing more than minor, superficial wounds.

Back home, they didn’t give the incident another thought, simply washing up and heading to bed.

The next day, Brother Nine took Yun Jiao to his company.

Once they arrived, Yun Jiao noticed that everyone who met Brother Nine would respectfully call him Mr. Yun, and then steal a quick glance at him.

After the two of them had passed, people would gather in small groups of two or three to whisper.

“Mr. Yun is so handsome today, as always.”

“I know, right? Every time I see his face, I just zone out. I mean, we’re all human, we all have eyes, a nose, and a mouth, so how can the difference be so huge?”

“Did you guys see the girl with Mr. Yun? She’s gorgeous, too! She wasn’t outshone by him at all standing there together. What do you think their relationship is? They can’t be dating, can they? The girl looks really young.”

“Maybe they’re brother and sister.”

“That’s even more amazing! Oh my God, there are so many beautiful people in the world, why couldn’t I be one of them?!”

Yun Jiao followed Brother Nine to the ninth floor, where both Yun Xiaojiu’s and Su Huan’s offices were located.

A look of pleasant surprise flashed in Su Huan’s eyes when he saw Yun Jiao.

“Jiaojiao, long time no see! You’re all grown up now.”

Yun Jiao’s eyes curved into crescents as she smiled at him. “Su Huan, long time no see.”

Su Huan felt a wave of emotion. It felt like no time at all had passed, yet the soft little girl from back then had transformed into this poised, graceful young woman.

For a moment, he was struck by how much had changed.

Then again, hadn’t he changed just as much?

Su Huan now had a buzz cut, and there was a scar on his face. It wasn’t very large, but it was distinct, positioned right next to his eye.

If it had been just a little bit to the side, it would have hit his eye, and he might have been blinded.

Yun Jiao glanced at it but didn’t ask any questions.

‘It was easy to imagine,’ she thought. ‘How difficult and dangerous it must have been for a poor kid from nowhere to go to Xiangjiang and fight to make something of himself.’

‘But now, thankfully, he had succeeded.’
