The Ocean's Little Tyrant: A Mermaid Baby Conquers the 80s
Chapter 501: The College Entrance Exam
Chapter 501: Chapter 469: The College Entrance Exam
She was fast, and her handwriting was neat and beautiful.
After she finished, several teachers graded it together.
“Full marks in math.”
“Only three points deducted in Chinese.”
Two of those points were from the essay. Yun Jiao’s essay was actually very well-written, but essays are rarely given a perfect score.
The other point was lost on reading comprehension.
“English, full marks.”
She lost points in the other science subjects, but not because her answers were wrong.
Out of a total of 750 points, Yun Jiao scored 736.
Points were deducted in some places because she didn’t show her work clearly, even though her final answers were correct.
This score made the homeroom teacher of Class One so excited that he looked at Yun Jiao as if she were some priceless treasure.
“Excellent, excellent! With this score, Yun Jiao can pick any university in the country. However, there are still a few things to keep in mind…”
Several teachers gathered around Yun Jiao, mainly reminding her about the areas where she had lost points.
Yun Jiao humbly indicated that she understood.
“So, Yun Jiao, would you like to attend class? We might not have much left to teach you, but tomorrow is the final mock college entrance exam. Perhaps you could come and get a feel for the environment.”
It would be a real shame if she didn’t perform well because she wasn’t familiar with the surroundings.
Yun Jiao thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement.
Yun Jiao went home, but the homeroom teacher excitedly went to the classroom to announce that a new student would be joining them for the mock exam tomorrow.
Amidst the tension of the impending college entrance exam, this news sparked the interest of some students in the class.
“Holy crap, who’s so badass that they’re transferring into our class right before the college entrance exam?”
“Probably a relative of one of the school administrators or something.”
“Who cares who she is? What does it have to do with us?”
“Hehe, latest news, I heard it’s a girl. Super pretty and really unique. And she came back from studying abroad just to take the college entrance exam.”
“Holy crap, studied abroad? And came back to our little county to take the college entrance exam?”
In between their studies, everyone became even more curious about this ‘transfer student’ who was arriving tomorrow.
The next day, Yun Jiao arrived bright and early. She first went to the teachers’ office to get her exam admission ticket. Carrying her testing supplies, ID card, and admission ticket, she was then led into the examination room by a teacher.
Although the students had been split up, with some from Class One sent to other classrooms, the majority remained.
Class One had the best academic performance in the school, so they were very self-disciplined during exams. Even if acquaintances sat together, there would be no instances of cheating.
Yun Jiao’s appearance instantly silenced the previously bustling classroom.
A student dropped the pen they were twirling in their hand.
“Oh my god…”
‘Where did this fairy come from!’
‘That hair color, that eye color… it’s so cool!’
The teacher showed Yun Jiao to her seat. After sitting down, she waited quietly for the teacher to hand out the exam papers.
Nearly every eye in the classroom was secretly fixed on her, but Yun Jiao acted as if she hadn’t noticed a thing and finished the exam in peace.
After the exam, she gathered her things and left.
Her family was waiting for her at the school gate.
But what she didn’t know was that Class One was now in an uproar.
“Oh my god, I’ve never seen anyone more beautiful than her. She’s prettier than the celebrities on TV.”
“And her hair is blue—a really pretty blue. Her eyes are blue too. She looks like she’s mixed-race.”
“And her skin is so good! So fair. It feels like she’s from a different world than us.”
Everyone who had seen Yun Jiao gathered in the classroom, discussing her intensely.
This made those who hadn’t seen her even more curious.
The results came out the next day.
This time, thanks to the teachers’ guidance, Yun Jiao’s score was even higher than before.
First in the class. She had dropped in out of nowhere and knocked the previous top student of Class One off their throne.
At first, they were a little resentful, but when the teacher showed them Yun Jiao’s exam paper, they were all convinced.
“Her handwriting is so beautiful, like it was written by a master calligrapher. It looks like she’s specially practiced with a brush pen.”
“This English essay is just… wow. You can’t find a single mistake in it.”
“Isn’t Yun Jiao coming to school? I really want to see her.”
Unfortunately, Yun Jiao indeed did not go to school.
There was so little time left, and her results proved that she would be fine even without attending classes.
Rather than waste time, she might as well continue doing what she wanted.
For example, helping her master, or going to the island to check on the pearl mother shells she was raising.
And cleaning up trash from the ocean.
One day, while cleaning up ocean trash, she found two people.
They had almost died.
Yun Jiao brought them to shore.
They were from another village. One of them had accidentally fallen into the sea while fishing when his foot got tangled in a net, and the other had fallen in trying to save him.
It wasn’t the first time Yun Jiao had encountered people who had fallen into the sea like this.
The lucky ones survived; the unlucky ones were already dead by the time she found them.
“The college entrance exam is tomorrow. Wish me luck.”
Yun Jiao hugged the two little Clouded Leopards and squeezed their paws.
She loved squeezing kitty paws the most; they were so soft and squishy.
“MROW~”
The exam would take three days. To avoid traveling back and forth, Yun Jiao bought a house directly in the city and registered it under her parents’ names.
During the exam period, Shen Yunlian came over to cook for her, ensuring she was in the best possible condition to face the college entrance exam.
“Go on, do your best. Mom will be waiting for you at the gate.”
Yun Jiao said, “You guys should go home. The sun is so strong.”
Shen Yunlian shook her head. “No way. All the other kids have their parents waiting for them, so of course my Jiaojiao has to have hers too.”
Yun Linhai also chuckled. “That’s right. Don’t worry, Jiaojiao. We brought big watermelons.”
Just as he said that, Yun Linhai and Wang Mei rode over on an electric tricycle. The tricycle was equipped not only with a sun-shielding umbrella but also several large, round watermelons and some drinks.
Yun Jiao: “…”
‘Alright, I guess I have nothing to worry about.’
After waving goodbye to her dad and the others, Yun Jiao headed toward the school with her testing supplies.
