The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 385 181: A Tooth for a Tooth
"Leave no one alive!"
"Yes, Master."
The Wizards cried out in despair, "No! Don't! Lord Sean, give us another chance!"
Lemondaff, however, seemed to find a final burst of courage. His eyes bloodshot, he roared, "Sean! I'll take you down with me!"
"VMMM!"
The next second.
Their voices stopped dead.
Whether they were begging for mercy or fighting for their lives, everyone froze in place at the same moment, as if God had pressed pause.
The giant mirror that had once appeared at World's End now manifested in the skies above Mortana.
Great Magic, the Mirror Death Curse.
"CRACK."
The mirror shattered.
Along with it perished the lives of the thousand-plus Wizards inside the factory.
The sight of countless souls flowing upward against gravity, sucked into the mirror, made Bofunova's eyelids twitch.
'A single Magic Spell wiping out over a thousand people...'
'This was beyond what the simple word "terrifying" could describe.'
If it had been her, she could have killed these people using a Secret Technique, but it would have been nowhere near this easy or casual. In fact, with so many enemies—and Tier Six being a level where numbers could still prevail—she might have even been overwhelmed if she wasn't careful.
But the Eleanor Sisters?
Among so many Wizards, not a single one could resist.
Whether they fought back or tried to flee, they couldn't even finish a single Spell before their souls drifted into the mirror.
The corners of the Night Watcher's eyes were also trembling slightly.
Unlike Bofunova's fear, he was filled more with excitement and nostalgia.
Once upon a time, he too had been an exalted Grand Mage. He too could use Great Magic and defeat a host of enemies with a single Magic Spell. He even knew Forbidden Spells, capable of single-handedly destroying an entire city.
He had thought that for the rest of his life—and even in his next life, and the one after that—he would never again reach that height. The Era of Polymath was over. The world was now barren of resources, and Wizards would only grow weaker with each generation. Eventually, he himself would lose the power to continue rebuilding his body, and along with the very word "Wizard," he would become a relic of history, buried in the long river of time.
But he never imagined that someone in this world could still achieve the rank of Grand Mage through Cultivation.
This gave the Night Watcher a glimmer of hope.
Sopea, however, was unfazed.
After all, this wasn't the first time he had seen the Eleanor Sisters in action. He had already had his moment of excitement.
So he glanced at the Night Watcher in disdain. "Look at you, getting all worked up over nothing."
The Night Watcher: "Hah."
"Oh, you're so impressive."
"So impressive, yet you got taken down in one move by a woman and needed someone else to save you?"
Sopea: "?"
He clenched his fists. "I told you, I'm not good at fighting!"
The Night Watcher sneered. "Is that so? Then what are you good at? Running your mouth?"
Furious, Sopea turned to Sean and said, "Mr. Sean, this old fossil looked down on you before. He was even bad-mouthing you behind your back and had the audacity to spread a rumor that you're my illegitimate son—I couldn't even bear to listen... For a disrespectful old codger like him, I suggest you deal with him sternly, Mr. Sean. Have Miss Eleanor and Miss Elise teach him a harsh lesson so he'll remember his place."
Sean: "..."
Night Watcher: "?"
'Hey, we're just arguing, why are you tattling??'
'Have you no shame?'
Koni, standing to the side, snickered. She completely understood her teacher's feelings.
'After all, Sean is Lord Blake. It's not embarrassing at all to ask Lord Blake for backup.'
But more than the two old men bickering, she was concerned about Sopea's injuries. She walked over to support him and asked with a hint of worry, "Teacher, your injuries..."
"It's nothing," Sopea said flatly.
'It only cost me half my life, no big deal.'
'Can't let this old fossil and Lord Blake look down on me.'
"Alright, you should go have Mr. Witch take a look at you," Sean said, seeing through his bravado. He smiled and shook his head, then addressed the group, "Our business here is finished for now. Let's leave."
Once they got back, those who needed healing would be healed, and those who needed questioning would be questioned.
He also had a few things to say.
In any case, the factory was no place for a conversation.
Especially with so many dead bodies, the smell of blood was overwhelming.
Before leaving, Genduo kicked Lemondaff's corpse to vent his anger.
Konina also stomped on Lemondaff several times with her high heels.
Although it's said one should respect the dead, and treating a corpse like this was disrespectful, it came back to the same thing—as the one who had betrayed their trust and deceived them, Lemondaff deserved it.
The Mirror Death Curse had caused quite a commotion, and a number of security guards had gathered outside Factory No. 3.
But a single sentence from a very cooperative Bofunova sent them away—
"There's nothing for you to do here. Go back to whatever you were doing."
The guards weren't stupid. They could tell something was wrong, but they didn't dare to speak up or ask questions. They could only retreat silently and pretend nothing had happened.
After leaving Ivan Pharmaceutical, the group didn't return to the hotel but went to the White Bear Organization's headquarters instead.
Sean wanted to see if anyone hadn't gone to Ivan Pharmaceutical today.
Not because he wanted to catch any fish that had slipped through the net, but because he felt that in a Wizard Organization as large as White Bear, there had to be at least a few people with a conscience, who wouldn't stoop to siding with traitors.
But to his disappointment, the place was empty.
He didn't know if they had all gone and died, or if some simply had other business and hadn't come to the headquarters.
Sean then went to Club 789. It was also nearly empty, nothing like the bustling place it was before. There were only two tables of guests actually playing pool and the female receptionist who had greeted them a few days ago.
"Why are you guys back again?" she asked warily.
She seemed completely unaware of what had happened over the past two days, or just now at Ivan Pharmaceutical.
Even though Bofunova was standing right next to Sean, she didn't recognize her.
"Your White Bear Organization is gone," Sean said.
The female employee: "?"
Her expression shifted slightly, but she continued to play dumb. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"It'd be better for you if you truly don't," Sean said meaningfully, giving Konina and Genduo a look, signaling them to explain the situation to her.
"Come on, sister, let's talk in the back," Konina said, pulling her into the storeroom.
A voice filled with shock and anger then came from the storeroom—
"What?!"
"Mr. Lemondaff joined the Kovloki Family??"
"That damn bastard!"
"And I trusted him so much!"
Sopea commented, "Doesn't sound like she's faking it."
"I remember Sister Konina saying she was also a new recruit, wasn't she?" Yisha said.
Sean sighed softly. "I'm afraid only newcomers still take their allegiances seriously."
'One's environment can change a person.'
'In Sonaros State, the Kovloki Family is absolute. Faced with irresistible oppression, the only choice is to bow. Bow for long enough, and you can't stand straight anymore. Then, after tasting a few sweets offered by the Kovloki Family, there will be no shortage of defectors.'
"You certainly are resourceful," Sean said.
Bofunova smiled awkwardly, not daring to make a sound.
Sean glanced at her, said no more, and turned to the others. "Let's get a drink of water and rest here for a bit."
He then looked at the Eleanor Sisters. "You two, come with me."
"You too, Mr. Night Watcher."
Night Watcher: "?"
'What does he want with me?'
Sopea gloated, "Someone's about to get disciplined."
Night Watcher: "?"
'No, impossible.'
'He couldn't beat the Eleanor Sisters, and if Sean really wanted to teach him a lesson, he wouldn't even be able to fight back. But he would never bow his head.'
'He didn't think he'd done anything wrong. If Sean dared to give him a hard time, he would dare to...'
'...remain defiant until death!'
But in reality, Sean wanted to discuss serious business with him.
"I just asked Bofunova. Carlos should be arriving in Sonaros State within three days," Sean said.
"And?" the Night Watcher asked, not understanding Sean's meaning.
Sean sighed. "You're not very bright."
Night Watcher: "?"
Sean said, "Do you know what Carlos coming to Sonaros State represents?"
'Does it mean Carlos will die?'
That was the Night Watcher's first reaction, but on second thought, he felt it wasn't that simple. Based on his observations of Sean, the kid was always scheming. Luring Carlos here wasn't just about killing him. Otherwise, they would eventually go back anyway, and they could just pay a visit to the Wolf Family then. There was no need to specifically make Carlos come over... Wait!
The Night Watcher suddenly realized. "Are you saying that with Carlos gone, the Wolf Family will be vulnerable?"
Sean nodded. "Exactly."
To say "vulnerable" might be an understatement, but as the head of the Wolf Family, Carlos was theoretically their strongest member. With him gone, the Wolf Family's combat strength would plummet, just as when he himself had left the Holy Sanctuary and was immediately purged by the Church Court.
He wanted to give them a taste of their own medicine.
"I've already had Elise notify the pilot. Tonight, you'll take our private jet back, gather your forces, and then..."
Sean's eyes glinted. "...wipe out the Wolf Family in one fell swoop."
