Chapter 46: this is tormenting me

Liliana’s breathing grew ragged. Cold sweat trickled down her forehead.

"Are they somewhere near my room?" Liliana asked herself.

Liliana walked toward the door and quickly gripped the doorknob.

"I... I want them," Liliana said desperately.

Her heart raced as images of Vincent Arden and Leonhardt Sterling appeared in her mind.

"I have to find them," Liliana said with a flushed face. She reached for the doorknob and tried to open the door again.

But after a moment, Liliana’s hand stopped moving.

"No."

She shook her head and quickly backed away before hurrying toward her bed.

She sat in the corner of the bed, trying to suppress the desire in her body that longed for their touch.

"Silver... please calm down. I could lose my mind again. Wait... wait until Father Alpha replies to Brother’s message," she said with a trembling voice.

Silver growled softly within Liliana’s mind. She rolled around with an expression of pain.

"Liliana... this is tormenting me," she said with a growl.

Liliana bit her lip tightly as Striped Tiger walked toward her.

Striped Tiger licked Liliana’s face, trying to get her attention.

"Belang, move away for now. You can’t do this right now," Liliana said desperately.

Striped Tiger did not respond to Liliana’s request. It continued licking her face without fear.

Liliana’s body, which had been heating up from its desire for touch, suddenly became cooler for some reason.

She turned to look at Striped Tiger. After a moment, she quickly adjusted her position and sat cross-legged.

Striped Tiger’s licks helped her regain a little of her sanity before she did something reckless.

Liliana remained in that position for a full half hour. White light continued to pour from her body, covering her until it looked as though she were wearing a shield around herself.

Her trembling body gradually became calmer. Meanwhile, Silver within her mind had also become better. She was no longer rolling around while struggling with her desires, although her body was still trembling.

Liliana remained in that position until noon, when all the effects caused by her body’s desire for her other fated mates disappeared without a trace.

Outside the room, precisely on a tree branch directly facing Liliana’s bedroom window, a golden-eyed man watched her with an unreadable expression.

"Quite remarkable," he murmured. "You were able to withstand the effects of our mate mark so well, Liliana."

"My Lord," said the subordinate behind him.

The man waved his hand, quickly wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.

"That’s enough for today. I’ll try again tomorrow morning."

Liliana slowly opened her eyes and looked around her room before getting up and walking toward the door.

She slowly opened it as the knocking grew louder and Cassian’s voice could be heard from outside.

" Brother," Liliana said when she saw Cassian’s worried face.

"Are you all right?" he asked after making sure Liliana was safe.

"Come in," Liliana said as she pulled Cassian’s hand.

The door behind him immediately closed.

"What happened? Why did you take so long to open the door?" Cassian asked.

"I just finished suppressing the effects of my mate mark," Liliana answered softly.

"You lost control of your body again?" Cassian asked while gripping Liliana’s shoulders tightly.

Liliana shook her head.

"Not anymore. My power managed to suppress it for now."

Cassian finally nodded and let out a relieved sigh.

"What did Father say?" Liliana asked.

"I already received his reply, but I haven’t read it yet. Let’s read it together."

"Mm," Liliana replied.

Father has already discussed this with the elders, Mother, and Mega.

Hold on for a few more days. Father will come to your academy within the next seven days. There is something Father must do to Liliana’s body himself.

For now, do not let Liliana leave her room unless there is an emergency.

Liliana looked up at Cassian after finishing the letter.

" Brother, the pressure earlier was already so strong. I’m not sure I can hold it back much longer. What if I do something crazy and go looking for them when my mark rebels again?"

Cassian looked back at Liliana. His mind moved quickly as he searched for a solution.

"Liliana, how did you manage to escape the pressure earlier? Were you able to do it simply with your own power?"

Liliana shook her head.

"I almost lost control. I couldn’t even think clearly when the mate mark in my body began intensifying my desire."

Cassian blinked several times. Just as he had suspected, although Liliana’s power was quite strong, Cassian knew it was still not enough to withstand the urge created by the mate mark bestowed by the Moon Goddess.

Cassian clenched his fingers tightly. In the past, he had been able to escape the reaction of his mate mark after his mate died.

But there was no way he could eliminate Liliana’s two potential mates, who were both Alpha candidates and one of whom was the future Alpha King.

Pack Draven was currently under the Alpha King’s supervision. If he did such a thing, it would only bring death and destruction upon his pack.

"Liliana, explain everything to Brother in detail. How did you escape the influence of your mate mark?"

Liliana swallowed hard. She pointed toward Striped Tiger, who was now playing with its tail.

"It licked my face and helped me regain a little of my sanity until I was able to control the power within my body."

Cassian stared at Striped Tiger. He walked closer and grabbed its face until the tiger was looking directly at him.

"Err..." it growled softly in displeasure.

"Stick out your tongue," Cassian ordered.

Striped Tiger immediately stood up and sat perfectly as Cassian’s aura pressed down on its body, forcing it to obey his command.

It quickly stuck out its tongue and allowed Cassian to examine it carefully.

After a moment, he stood up and looked at Liliana.

"You must not stay away from Striped Tiger. Its energy, although it does not directly affect our werewolf kind, has something that can calm your mind when you lose control."

He slowly sat down in Liliana’s study chair.

"Sit," he ordered Liliana, who was still standing there with a confused expression.

"Liliana, you should be fine tomorrow morning as long as you stay by Brother’s side and remain with White Tiger."

"What do you mean?" Liliana asked, still not understanding.

"At first, Brother thought about keeping you in your dorm room. But tomorrow morning is an important day, one that the academy only celebrates once every hundred years."

"There is something that might suit you in the secret realm that the academy will open tomorrow morning."

"This announcement was sudden. It should be announced to all the students tonight, but Brother received this information ahead of time," Cassian added.

"You want me to leave my room and go to the secret realm in my current condition?" Liliana asked.
