The Moon Goddess Chose Me as the Luna of Four Alphas

Chapter 45: They had all died because they were protecting her

Liliana opened her eyes with a gasp, her breathing ragged. Sweat covered her forehead.

"No!"

Liliana’s scream shattered the silence of the room.

Striped Tiger immediately rushed toward Liliana upon hearing her scream.

"Belang," Liliana called, her body still trembling violently. "How could I dream of something this horrible?" she asked in disbelief.

She had seen countless werewolves lying in pools of blood. There had been so many of them that the sight had made her nauseous.

Humans stood proudly atop piles of werewolves. They wielded strange weapons that Liliana had never seen before.

And among everything she had witnessed, there was one thing that frightened her and made her unable to believe what she was seeing.

Cassian, Mother Olive, Viktor, and the people closest to her had died horribly beneath the feet of humans.

Liliana raised her trembling hands.

They had all died because they were protecting her. Because of her.

"Grrr..." growled Striped Tiger, trying to bring Liliana back to her senses.

Liliana turned around and hugged Striped Tiger tightly.

Striped Tiger allowed Liliana to bury herself in its fur without resisting.

Liliana slowly closed her eyes again. There was something strange about her dream. And that strangeness frightened her.

She was so afraid that she could no longer bring herself to fall asleep again.

And of everything she had seen in that dream, only one thing frightened her the most.

Valerie.

Her sister. The sister whose fated bond she had severed. The sister whom Liliana no longer wanted to acknowledge.

Valerie was wearing a bright red dress with short black hair. She smiled triumphantly as she watched Liliana’s despair, and she... stood among the humans who had killed countless werewolves.

Liliana shook her head.

"No. It was only a dream. Right."

Liliana quickly got out of bed and hurried into the bathroom.

She rinsed her body with cold water. Afterward, she opened the window of her dorm room and looked up at the moon shining brightly above her head.

As if it were trying to comfort her after she had experienced such a terrible nightmare.

Liliana looked up.

"That’s right... My Goddess, Moon Goddess, I’m sure you will always help me solve my problems. And you won’t let my nightmare come true this time. It was only a nightmare."

Liliana smiled faintly and stared at the moon above her with a wide smile.

But her gaze quickly fell upon a werewolf who was entering the academy library.

The floor of the dormitory where she was staying was high enough for her to see most of the campus.

That werewolf... Liliana knew her well. The person she had spent the past three years trying to please and the person she had just dreamed about.

Valerie.

Valerie Beaumont.

Valerie entered with calm steps and came out not long afterward, carrying a stack of books in both hands.

Liliana frowned. Since childhood, Valerie had never liked reading, especially when she was living at the Beaumont residence.

She continued watching Valerie, following wherever the girl went.

Valerie walked out of the library calmly. Then, she suddenly stopped and looked up toward her.

Liliana quickly lowered her head beneath the window.

For some reason, she was afraid that Valerie would see her watching her.

Her heart was beating rapidly, unlike Valerie, who casually glanced at the windows of the dormitory rooms.

She smiled faintly before continuing toward her own dormitory.

After quite some time, Liliana finally dared to stand up again and look outside. Valerie was already gone. The path near the library was empty, without a single person passing by.

Liliana shook her head.

"I must be overthinking things," she said, trying to calm herself. "Right. Valerie is a werewolf. How could she possibly do something like what happened in my dream? It was only a dream."

Liliana hurriedly closed the window and returned to bed.

"Belang, come up here. Let me sleep while hugging you."

Striped Tiger looked up and immediately got up from where it had been lying on the floor. It quickly climbed onto Liliana’s bed.

When morning came, Liliana opened her eyes as the sunlight had already grown bright. Her gaze fell upon a letter lying beneath the door of her room.

She immediately got up and walked over, then quickly picked up the letter and read it.

Don’t leave your room yet. Father’s reply should arrive this afternoon. Be patient. I’ll take care of your absence with your class teacher.

Liliana nodded, placed Cassian’s letter on the table, and hurriedly took out some meat for herself and Striped Tiger.

With nimble movements, she cooked several dishes. She was truly hungry. Her body was exhausted. Although she possessed healing abilities, her body was still that of an ordinary werewolf.

After serving two Alpha candidates within such a short period of time, she felt as though she could die.

Liliana cooked several dishes using the food in her refrigerator. In the past, she had also often cooked for Valerie before living at the Beaumont residence.

Valerie was extremely picky about food. She refused to eat if the food she was given was under-seasoned or not cooked perfectly.

At first, Liliana found it strange. After all, werewolves did not have particularly sensitive taste buds. That was a habit more commonly associated with humans.

But after serving Valerie for so long, the taste of food in her mouth gradually became more similar to Valerie’s.

After some time, four large portions of food were ready on the dining table.

Liliana tossed some raw meat to Striped Tiger before calmly eating her own meal.

Once she was full, Liliana sat on her bed. Her hand reached for the hair dye in her drawer.

"How can Mother’s hair dye only last for a few hours?" Liliana asked in confusion as she evenly applied the dye throughout her hair.

Slowly, her silver-white hair turned dark black once again.

She looked at her reflection in the mirror beside her bed. Her face immediately flushed when she remembered Lucien saying that he did not feel nauseous when looking at her current appearance.

"Stop thinking about it," Liliana said, trying to bring herself back to her senses. "He is only my temporary mate. I will definitely remove this mate mark soon. I must not bring trouble to Father Viktor, Mother Olive, Mrs. Mega, and Big Brother."

Liliana quickly stood up, intending to take a glass of water from her table, but...

Thud!

Liliana’s body collapsed onto the floor.

Her body trembled violently. Liliana shook her head.

"No... this cannot happen."

Liliana clutched her chest tightly.

Silver growled softly within her.

Her body once again demanded the closeness of another mate destined for her by the Moon Goddess.

Her body would never calm down until she received the mate marks from all four of her Alphas.
