Cassian cast a brief glance at the future Alpha sitting in the seat beside him.

A man with Phoenix eyes who looked almost like a woman. A man known throughout the academy as a delinquent.

Vincent Ardent.

"Young Master Cassian," he greeted.

Cassian ignored him. In his eyes, the man beside him was trash who was truly not worth looking at.

"I heard you adopted a mere toy servant as your younger sister," he said, not caring whether Cassian would respond or not. "What if I make her my Luna? I heard she was just rejected by her Alpha mate."

Vincent shook his head.

"Her fate is truly pitiful. This young master is willing to help if you agree."

Cassian glanced at Vincent and grabbed the man’s collar tightly.

"You dare set your filthy mind on my sister?" he asked.

Vincent smiled. He pushed Cassian back without much effort, then looked forward.

"So, the rumor that you were even willing to punish the two future Alphas from Pack Beaumont for hurting your sister is true?" he asked.

"I truly didn’t expect it. Young Master Draven, who is so arrogant and was even ruthless enough to reject his own Luna, is actually willing to take care of an ugly Wolfless. Interesting," he added.

"Shut up! If I hear you wanting my sister again, you’re dead, Vincent," Cassian threatened.

Vincent glanced at him with a meaningful smile. He tapped his fingers against the armrest, then looked behind him, trying to find the girl Cassian was referring to.

His gaze quickly fell upon a girl sitting in the middle of the room.

Liliana.

Vincent could find her in an instant because of her striking appearance.

Half of her face was injured. He truly wanted to know what had caused a cold man from the Draven family to soften his heart, even going so far as to offend another pack.

But... when his eyes met Liliana’s, Vincent fell silent for a moment.

He stared into Liliana’s dark brown eyes. His body stiffened.

Cold sweat began to form on his forehead.

His heart pounded violently.

Very violently!

Cassian, who found Vincent’s sudden silence strange, finally followed his gaze.

He clenched his fingers and stood up immediately.

"Didn’t I already tell you not to try anything?"

Vincent ignored him. His eyes remained fixed on Liliana, trying to follow whatever she was doing.

The wolf within him growled with a sound he had never heard before, not even from himself.

Vincent wanted to immediately pull Liliana away from the crowd and smell her scent more closely.

Liliana, who had briefly met his gaze, turned away again when Vincent’s expression became so... strange.

Silver inside her also responded.

Liliana’s fingers trembled as she reached for her heart when their eyes met again.

"Silver," Liliana called.

"Liliana..." Silver growled in response to Liliana’s hesitation.

A red light flowed from Liliana’s heart toward Vincent’s heart.

Vincent swallowed with difficulty.

"Damn," he muttered. "How can she be this beautiful?" he asked.

Cassian stared at the two of them in confusion, then grabbed Vincent’s collar even tighter, forcing him to look at him.

"What are you doing to my sister? You really dare to desire her?"

Vincent looked at Cassian, then glanced around at the room filled with werewolves.

"Cassian, no. You truly don’t deserve to be Liliana’s brother," he said without thinking.

Calm down, Vincent said inwardly, trying to calm his inner wolf. It was the first time he had ever struggled to control his wolf.

Bugh!

Cassian’s fist landed directly on his face.

"Watch your mouth. If you don’t want to die by my hand the moment you leave this room," he said.

Vincent wiped the fresh blood from the corner of his lips, then smiled at Cassian.

His mind moved quickly. His eyes narrowed, forming the characteristic curve of his Phoenix eyes.

It seems I’ll mark Liliana tonight, Vincent thought.

Vincent shifted his gaze toward the stage in front of him and ignored the gazes of those around him.

Cassian also had no intention of saying anything else. He returned his focus to the entrance beside the stage.

His eyes narrowed sharply as he watched the future Alphas who were now walking in and heading toward the seats in the same row as him.

Xavier Laurent, the future Alpha of Pack Laurent.

He walked confidently, his body upright, with mesmerizing red eyes.

Only a few people had ever seen his wolf form. Even Cassian had never seen his wolf form until now.

Behind him came Lucien Valmont, the future Alpha of Pack Valmont, which was famous as the Empire of Morovela’s frontline pack of protectors.

A general skilled in tactics and strategy, with an appearance that was almost on the same level as the Morovela imperial family.

Cassian said nothing. He leaned back in his chair, calmly watching the entrance. His fingers were still busy playing with Liliana’s hair tie.

Not long after, the academy dean and several academy teachers entered the hall.

The werewolves, whose bodies had been forged through countless tragedies among the werewolf race, now stood tall in the middle of the stage.

The academy dean, with long white hair, pressed the wooden staff in his right hand against the floor, creating a sound loud enough to make the entire hall fall silent in an instant.

The aura emanating from the dean’s body immediately spread throughout the hall, displaying his status as the ruler of the academy.

"Welcome back to Mirena Academy," he said in a flat voice, yet one that immediately asserted his authority throughout the hall.

All the students bowed respectfully.

"I won’t speak for long," the academy dean said. "I only want to remind you of your identity here."

"You are werewolves. Werewolves who may change the fate of the werewolf race in the future."

"Don’t make me and all the teachers of Mirena Academy disappointed that we accepted you and taught you so much here."

"Remember this one thing. The werewolf race is loyal to only one leader, our Wolf King, Alpha King Morovela."

"Never think about betraying us, especially by siding with humans," he added.

"Our race is not inferior to the human race. Remember that well. And, as you all know, death will be the only end for those of you who betray our pack," he said.

The dean gave a low smile, then looked at all the young werewolves before him.

"Enter," he said.

The hall doors opened again as soon as the dean finished speaking.

A werewolf with a flawless appearance entered the room. The aura radiating from him was no weaker than the dean’s.

Leonhardt Sterling, Crown Prince of the Morovella Nation.
