The Hidden Luna of Blackmoor Valley
Chapter 414 Silver and Fury 2
Chapter 414: Chapter 414 Silver and Fury 2
Kaelen’s POV
The silver burned in my eyes, in my nose, in my throat, and it burned in my lungs. I could not see, and I could not breathe.
I could only feel the fire.
The silver burned my skin, and my eyes watered. My throat closed, and I could not breathe.
I fell to my knees.
I hit the ground hard, and the dead earth scraped against my palms. Then I remembered I had not mind linked Talia to warn her.
Malachai laughed, and the sound echoed across the battlefield.
I was on my knees. The silver was burning through my skin, and I could barely see.
Malachai stood over me. "This is the end, silver boy."
I looked up at him. "You are wrong."
Malachai’s eyes narrowed. He did not like the confidence in my voice.
Malachai tilted his head. "Oh?"
I smiled. "My mate is coming."
Talia’s POV
I was on the ridge, weak and exhausted, and I watched the battle below.
I felt a shift through the bond, and I knew that Kaelen was in danger. I could feel his fury, his resolve, and his pain.
His pain was sharp and cold, and it cut through me like a blade. I gasped, and I pressed my hand to my chest.
"What are you doing?" I whispered. "Kaelen, what are you doing?"
I reached for the mind link, but before I could reach him, I saw them.
Serena and Vivienne.
They were coming for me, and I had nothing left to give.
But I would not go down without a fight.
I had survived too much to die now. I had fought too hard to give up. I planted my feet on the ground and I waited.
Serena and Vivienne were walking toward me. Their steps were slow and deliberate. Serena’s eyes were black, and Vivienne had a dark energy around her.
I forced myself to stand.
"You will not die on your knees," I told myself. "You are a Luna. You are a Silvertongue. You will fight."
Serena and Vivienne stopped a few feet from me.
Serena tilted her head. "Look at you. Weak, broken, and still pretending to be a Luna."
Vivienne laughed. "You should have stayed in the storage room where you belonged."
I looked at them, and my voice was steady. "You should have stayed in exile where you belonged."
Serena’s eyes narrowed. "You think you are clever, but you are nothing. You are just a nobody who got lucky."
I smiled. "No, I am the Silvertongue who will end you."
Vivienne laughed again. "Big words for a weak little girl."
I did not respond. I raised my hands, ready to fight.
My legs trembled, my arms felt like lead, my magic was weak, and I had nothing left.
I had no strength left for words, so I would use my hands.
I braced myself, raised my dagger, and I waited.
The wind howled around us. The battle raged below. But in that moment, there was only the three of us.
Serena and Vivienne attacked.
I fought. I was weak from using my voice magic, but I was not helpless. I dodged and I struck, and I used my dagger.
Alpha Stone appeared from the chaos, and he stood beside me.
"You are not alone, Luna," he said.
I nodded. "I know." I replied, landing a strike on Serena with my dagger.
She let out an ear piercing scream, and flung her claw to my throat. But I bent backwards, missing her strike by a breath.
I rolled over to Alpha Stone’s side, and we fought together. Alpha Stone took on Vivienne, and I took on Serena.
Vivienne was strong, but Alpha Stone was skilled. And in a short time, he drove his sword through her chest.
Vivienne screamed, and her body dissolved into dark smoke. She was gone.
I watched the smoke fade. I watched the place where she had stood. Vivienne was gone. But I did not have time to feel relief.
Serena screamed, and the sound was not human. She attacked me with a fury I had never seen. Her strength was unnatural.
Every strike landed like a hammer, and I felt my bones rattle beneath my skin.
My vision blurred, and my knees buckled.
Serena fought like death itself, and I was losing.
"No," I told myself. "You are not losing. You are surviving. There is a difference."
Then Jax, Silas, and Cain arrived.
I had never been so happy to see them in my life.
Jax was laughing. "Did you start the party without us?"
Silas was calm. "We are here, Luna." he said.
Cain said nothing. He just attacked Serena, driving her back with fury in his eyes.
Together, we fought Serena. She was strong, but she was outnumbered.
Suddenly, Serena sank her teeth on Cain’s shoulder, and he grunted.
Blood poured from the wound. Cain did not scream. He just gritted his teeth and kept fighting.
"Get away from my Beta, you demon." Jax lunged, and drove his blade through Serena’s skull.
Serena screamed, and the sound was cut short. Her body dissolved into dark smoke, and the smoke faded into the air.
I watched the smoke disappear, and I watched the place where she had stood. It was empty now.
The silence that followed was heavy, and for a moment, it felt like it was over. But I knew it was not truly over.
I fell to my knees, exhausted.
My body was shaking. My vision was blurry. I could barely breathe.
"Get up," I told myself. "Get up. Kaelen needs you."
Then I felt the pain through the bond. It was sharp and cold, like fire and ice at the same time.
I gasped. "Kaelen!" I screamed.
I reached for the mind link. "Kaelen! Kaelen, answer me! What is happening?"
I felt him through the bond. His pain was sharp and cold. It wrapped around my chest like a fist and squeezed. I gasped, and I could barely breathe. My hands flew to my chest, and I doubled over.
His voice was faint. "Silver. He... he threw... silver."
My blood ran cold. "Hold on. I am coming."
"No," he said. "Stay... stay back. Protect yourself."
"I am not leaving you," I said, shaking my head.
I cut the link and forced myself to stand.
"I could not lose him. Not now," I whispered. "Not after everything."
I had come too far. We had come too far, and I would not let it end like this.
I looked at Jax, Silas, and Cain. "We need to go. Kaelen is getting weak. He needs us."
Jax nodded. "Then let us go get him."
We ran toward Malachai’s position.
The battlefield blurred around me. I did not see the wolves fighting, and I did not hear the screams.
"Kaelen," I whispered. "I am coming.”
