Chapter 7: Chapter 6: Sword Like a Dragon Roar, Body Like Liuyun

"Just you wait, I’ll be back."

BANG!

As a flurry of punches rained down, Lu Chen’s voice was abruptly cut off.

The second underground tomb challenge—failed!

Lu Chen resurrected and didn’t dwell on his defeat for a single second. He immediately threw himself right back into the fray. Just as he said, he would be back!

The third underground tomb challenge—failed!

The fourth underground tomb challenge—failed!

...

The one hundred and second underground tomb challenge.

"Flowing Cloud Step and Water Dragon Roar have already reached the Mastery Level. It’s about time to end this."

Just as the Purple Mist Health Cultivation Technique could increase Skill Proficiency through Cultivation, the same applied to Flowing Cloud Step and Water Dragon Roar. Perhaps it was because they were constantly being used in actual combat, or perhaps because they lacked the harsh conditions of the Purple Mist Health Cultivation Technique—which could only be Cultivated when the first rays of the Purple Mist appeared at dawn. Whatever the reason, Lu Chen’s Cultivation speed for these two Skills was incredibly fast.

During his fifty-second challenge, Lu Chen had already become capable of defeating the ten Cyan Profound Puppets. However, upon realizing that these ten guys were excellent sparring partners, he wasn’t in a hurry to vanquish them. Instead, he treated them as tools to Cultivate his Flowing Cloud Step and Water Dragon Roar.

In this process, not only did Water Dragon Roar and Flowing Cloud Step improve, but the Sharpness Skill he constantly cast also gained a significant boost. Combat was indeed the best Teacher.

[Flowing Cloud Step: Mastery 1/800]

[Water Dragon Roar: Mastery 1/1200]

[Sharpness Skill: Great Success 100/1000]

[Current Experience Points: 50]

If possible, Lu Chen actually wanted to keep playing with these Cyan Profound Puppets to raise the Level of his three Skills as much as he could. Unfortunately, likely because these ten Cyan Profound Puppets could no longer pressure him, his Skill Proficiency for all three had completely stagnated during the most recent battle.

Seeing this, Lu Chen naturally stopped repeating the challenge.

...

In the underground tomb.

This was the one hundred and second time Lu Chen had faced the ten Cyan Profound Puppets. This time, however, he was as calm as if he were attending an ordinary gathering. It couldn’t be helped; having fought these guys over a hundred times, he could now accurately predict their movements even with his eyes closed. He had completely seen through them. Let alone ten, even if their numbers were doubled, Lu Chen felt he wouldn’t face any pressure.

Although his Cultivation hadn’t improved at all, he... had truly grown stronger!

BANG!

As the heavy stone door behind him closed once again, the ten Cyan Profound Puppets in front of him sprang into action. Lu Chen looked at them and offered a polite bow.

"Thank you for your help, everyone, but all of this... should come to an end."

The moment his words fell, Lu Chen turned into a blur and charged right up to one of the Cyan Profound Puppets. Before the Cyan Profound Puppet could react, the cry of a sword rang out in the quiet underground tomb. Though fleeting, the sound was incredibly crisp and resonant—just like a Dragon Roar!

In the instant the sword cry vanished, Lu Chen’s figure brushed past the Cyan Profound Puppet.

"First one."

The moment Lu Chen stopped, the wind of a punch swept in from behind. As if blessed with foresight, Lu Chen immediately executed an agile sidestep, dodging the sneak attack from the Cyan Profound Puppet at his back. At the same time, the Magic Sword in his hand let out another crisp sword cry, landing a strike squarely on the puppet’s body.

"Second one."

Without even glancing at the situation behind him, Lu Chen strolled into the encirclement of the Cyan Profound Puppets as if taking a leisurely walk in a courtyard.

"Third, fourth, fifth..."

At this very moment, the sturdy bodies that the Cyan Profound Puppets took so much pride in were as fragile as paper before Lu Chen. Every time the sword cry echoed, a Cyan Profound Puppet would fall to the ground. Even if they possessed astonishing strength and feared no pain, attempting to trade injuries with Lu Chen was entirely futile. Faced with Lu Chen’s Body Technique that moved like Flowing Clouds and Water, they couldn’t even touch a single hair on his head.

One minute later...

"Tenth."

As the tenth Cyan Profound Puppet collapsed, the previously crowded underground tomb instantly became spacious and empty. Lu Chen looked at the scattered puppet remains across the floor, feeling a sudden, inexplicable sense of surrealness. Who could have imagined that the very person who initially could only last ten minutes against these ten Cyan Profound Puppets was now capable of defeating them flawlessly in under a minute?

With these guys no longer blocking his path, Lu Chen involuntarily looked toward the coffin not far away. He remembered the name of this Dungeon clearly: Ancient Cultivator’s Tomb. According to the Dungeon’s Description, the most dangerous things in this place were not the guardian-like Cyan Profound Puppets at all, but a group of Ancient Cultivator Corpses that had unexpectedly awakened.

These so-called Magic Corpses were, in fact, Cultivators who had turned into zombies. Such zombies were undoubtedly much more difficult to deal with than ordinary ones. This was because, in addition to having the Invulnerable bodies of zombies, they could also cast some of the Magic they had learned in their past lives.

Magic Corpses weren’t just exclusive to Dungeons; there were also quite a few of them within the Nine Provinces Immortal Alliance. Therefore, Lu Chen was actually no stranger to these so-called Magic Corpses.

Staring at the coffin in the center of the tomb, Lu Chen didn’t approach it directly. Instead, he cautiously swung his sword from a distance. The decaying coffin was instantly cleaved in half by the strike, revealing its interior.

"Empty?"

Looking at the completely barren coffin, Lu Chen furrowed his brows. He originally thought the Cyan Profound Puppets in the tomb were common mobs, while the Magic Corpse inside the coffin was the boss. Yet, there was absolutely nothing inside. Either the coffin had been completely empty from the very beginning, or the thing inside had already escaped.
