Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Sword Like Dragon Roar, Body Like Liuyun

[Flowing Cloud Step: Proficient 1/200]

[Water Dragon Roar: Proficient 1/300]

[Current Experience Points: 50]

As the Skill Levels of Flowing Cloud Step and Water Dragon Roar reached the Proficient Level, Lu Chen felt his mind suddenly fill with new insights into these two Skills. This feeling was profoundly mysterious—as if he had been engaging in the Cultivation of these two Skills for ages. It was something beyond words and explanation.

"With these two Skills, I should be able to go head-to-head with those Cyan Profound Puppets now," he thought.

With this thought in mind, Lu Chen stood up and headed out of the passageway.

...

Inside the subterranean catacombs of the Ancient Cultivator’s Tomb.

Returning here once more, Lu Chen no longer felt his initial nervousness. He looked at the Cyan Profound Puppets not far away and slowly raised the Magic Sword in his hand.

"Let’s go again."

As his words fell, the only response he received was the cold stares of the Cyan Profound Puppets and their ever-approaching, oppressive presence. But unlike his wretched state the first time, Lu Chen appeared much more at ease this time around. Facing the attack of the first Cyan Profound Puppet, he dodged it with ease. His expression then turned stern as he instinctively unleashed the Water Dragon Roar.

The blade of the Magic Sword began to vibrate continuously. The high-frequency oscillation not only endowed the Magic Sword with a staggering Vibration Power but also let out a low, muffled hum. And this... was the Dragon Roar! Locking onto the nearest Cyan Profound Puppet, Lu Chen swung his sword!

SLASH!

Imbued with the Qianjin Power of the Sharpness Skill, the Magic Sword effortlessly cleaved through the hard body of the Cyan Profound Puppet, severing its neck. In the very next second after Lu Chen dispatched this puppet, several others that were slightly further away swarmed him. In response, Lu Chen dodged smoothly like Flowing Clouds and Water, opening up a relatively safe distance from the nine remaining Cyan Profound Puppets. Right where he had just been standing, the Iron Fists of a few Cyan Profound Puppets slammed down.

BANG!

Under their heavy punches, the hard ground instantly shattered, forming a crater laced with spreading cracks. Seeing this scene, Lu Chen felt a lingering fear and murmured, "Looking at this, it really wasn’t unjust that I died the first time." With this kind of strength, it was no wonder they had managed to break through his Protective Divine Light and beat him to death in a flurry of punches.

After a brief moment of reflection, Lu Chen immediately gathered his thoughts and focused on the battle before him. Although the first isolated Cyan Profound Puppet had been easily disposed of, the remaining ones maintained a rather close distance to one another. If Lu Chen were to recklessly attack one of them, he would undoubtedly be besieged by the rest. Therefore, if he wanted to defeat them, he had to dodge the attacks of the other Cyan Profound Puppets while simultaneously slaying one of them—just like the situation when he killed the first one.

But this was easier said than done. To leap and weave through the attacks of nine puppets within the already confined subterranean catacombs was simply Hell Level difficulty. Moreover, with his current Magical Power, while sustaining the Sharpness Skill, he could at most cast Purple Mist Divine Light Protective twice. In other words, he could withstand a maximum of two attacks from the Cyan Profound Puppets. That meant he only had two chances to take a hit. If he got hit again after those two chances, given his current physical condition, he would be heavily injured if not dead, rendering him completely unable to continue fighting. With this thought in mind, Lu Chen engaged in a fierce melee with the Cyan Profound Puppets once again.

One minute later...

Backed into a corner by the Cyan Profound Puppets, Lu Chen panted heavily. Not far from him lay the shattered remains of three Cyan Profound Puppets. That’s right. In a one-versus-ten scenario where a significant Level disparity existed, Lu Chen had relied on the Water Dragon Roar, Flowing Cloud Step, and Purple Mist Divine Light to forcefully trade for three Cyan Profound Puppets. Such a battle record would be enough for any other Qi Cultivation Second Level Cultivator to take immense pride in. Yet, Lu Chen was still somewhat dissatisfied with his own performance.

Mistakes, too many mistakes. Whether it was his timing with the Flowing Cloud Step or the execution of the Water Dragon Roar, there were still many areas for improvement. He could do better. This one-minute battle seemed brief, but it had significantly enhanced Lu Chen’s comprehension of the Flowing Cloud Step and the Water Dragon Roar.

The essence of the Water Dragon Roar was actually using Spiritual Power to generate Vibration Power in the sword blade. This way, when the Magic Sword emitted a hum resembling a Dragon Roar, it could also produce high-frequency damage akin to rippling water. This was the "Dragon Roar" in the Water Dragon Roar. Theoretically speaking, the faster the vibration frequency of the Water Dragon Roar, the higher the power of that sword strike. But this only existed in theory, because neither the Quality of the Magic Sword itself nor Lu Chen’s own physical body and Cultivation could support him in stacking more vibration Effects of the Water Dragon Roar.

Right now, he could stack a maximum of five bursts of Vibration Power within a single second. This was already the absolute limit of what he could achieve. Moreover, every time he executed the Water Dragon Roar, he needed to spend a certain amount of time regulating the turbulent Spiritual Power within his body. While this duration wasn’t long, it was particularly fatal in the midst of battle. Fortunately, Water Attribute Spiritual Power was the gentlest among the Five Elements Attributes. If it had been substituted with the Spiritual Power of any other attribute, Lu Chen’s meridians might have been shattered by the vibrating Spiritual Power before he could even unleash the Water Dragon Roar. The Water Dragon Roar seemed simple, but this Swordsmanship... held profound mysteries within.

And just as Lu Chen bowed his head in deep thought, the remaining seven Cyan Profound Puppets arrived right in front of him. Lu Chen wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and raised his head to look at them. One might lose the battle, but never the spirit. Even if he were to die, he would remain stubbornly defiant to the very end.
