Chapter 8: Chapter 6: Sword Like a Dragon Roar, Body Like Liuyun

Lu Chen looked at the open stone door at the other end of the tomb room, leaning more toward the latter possibility in his heart.

However, he didn’t rush to leave the room to find answers. Instead, he began gathering the specks of light scattered around the remains of the Cyan Profound Puppets.

After collecting all ten fragments, they quickly synthesized into a complete Qingxuan Puppet Technique.

[Qingxuan Puppet Technique]

[Effect: Upon learning, you can refine Cyan Profound Puppets. The puppet’s strength depends on the materials used.]

[Learning Requirements: Wood Spiritual Root, Metal Spiritual Root]

Besides acquiring a puppetry skill, the ten Cyan Profound Puppets had also granted him a considerable amount of experience.

[Current Experience Points: 400]

Each Cyan Profound Puppet was worth 35 Experience Points, so ten of them amounted to 350.

If it weren’t for the fact that he had to kill all of them before he could receive the Dungeon’s Experience Points, Lu Chen might have just stayed here, endlessly grinding for experience.

If he could do that, never mind the Water Dragon Roar and Flowing Cloud Step—he might even be able to max out the Purple Mist Health Cultivation Technique in a short amount of time.

What a shame. It was truly a shame.

"Forget it. Greed is like a snake trying to swallow an elephant. I already have the assistance of True Cultivation; there’s no need to ask for more," Lu Chen muttered to himself.

After his brief lament, Lu Chen turned his attention to the stone stele nearby.

On it, the information about the tomb’s owner was clearly inscribed.

[Tomb of Shang Zhiliang, 72nd Generation Official Disciple of the Cyan Cloud Sect]

Cyan Cloud Sect?

Lu Chen stared at the few lines of text on the stele, feeling deeply astonished.

He hadn’t expected this so-called Ancient Cultivator’s Tomb to be the burial ground for a disciple of the Cyan Cloud Sect.

Judging by its appearance, the timeline within the Dungeon and the Cyan Cloud Sect in the game were likely not from the same era.

After all, given how powerful the Cyan Cloud Sect was in the game, they absolutely would not allow their disciples to undergo corpse transformation after death.

This could only mean that the Cyan Cloud Sect from the Dungeon’s era had either suffered some major upheaval that left them unable to manage their Sect’s tombs, or they had simply vanished into the long river of history.

That was the only explanation for why this tomb had become so desolate that magic corpses had begun to spawn.

Lu Chen thought to himself, "No wonder I felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity with those puppets earlier. They must have been crafted from the Cyan Profound Wood found in the Outer Sect of the Cyan Cloud Sect.

"To think that even the Cyan Cloud Sect, which is overseen by a mighty Divinity Transformation Stage expert, could decline to this extent. What exactly happened in the world outside the Dungeon?

"Never mind. None of this concerns me right now. I should focus on the Dungeon at hand.

"If this tomb only buried Official Disciples, that’s fine. But if it also houses True Disciples of the various peaks, Elders, or even Peak Masters... then even if the Dungeon only refreshes once every three months in reality, it would be extremely difficult for me to clear it before the reset.

"After all, the weakest True Disciple of the Cyan Cloud Sect is at the Foundation Establishment Stage. Elders are at the Golden Core Stage, and Peak Masters are at least at the Nascent Soul Stage.

"If they underwent corpse transformation, how could a lowly Qi Refining cultivator like me possibly be their match?

"However, since this Dungeon is a place meant for those at the Qi Cultivation Stage, there shouldn’t be terrifying existences like Golden Core or Nascent Soul Magic Corpses. Otherwise, the entry requirement would be at the Foundation Establishment Stage at the very least.

"Besides, esteemed figures like Elders and Peak Masters are unlikely to be buried alongside everyone else.

"Therefore, this should just be a disciple’s tomb."

Having reached this conclusion, Lu Chen stopped overthinking it.

After confirming there was nothing else of value in this particular tomb room, he walked straight through the open stone door in front of him.

The very first room had forced him to revive over a hundred times. He had no idea how many more times he would have to die before he could fully clear this Dungeon.

Stepping out of the tomb, a complex Earth Palace came into view.

Before Lu Chen could make out the intricate and confusing layout of the Earth Palace, he suddenly felt a gust of cold wind from above.

Followed by a burst of agonizing pain, his vision instantly went pitch black.

Inside the underground tomb room.

"I... died again?"

Freshly revived, Lu Chen stared at the scattered remains of the Cyan Profound Puppets, his expression incredibly grim.

During his previous deaths, he at least knew how he had died.

But this time, he was killed before he could even catch a glimpse of the enemy.

Was the enemy so strong that he couldn’t even react, or was there some special trap waiting just outside the stone door?

Since he couldn’t guess, he might as well try again.

With Infinite Resurrection at his disposal within the Dungeon, what did he have to fear?

He just needed to charge in headfirst!
