Zane’s eyes widened. "No, you can’t do that! It’s a mistake. They—my son did it."

Grandma looked at him. "Did I say I stripped you of your name in the Starlight family?"

"I’m going to investigate your branch. If I find one of you plotting with another family against the family’s interests, the least thing that will happen is the stripping of your name."

His face went pale, and Mom went to him and said, "Don’t think this is over. I’ll make sure your son pays for today."

Then Mom looked at all the people and said, "Today’s celebration is officially over for today. You can enjoy the rest of the banquet. I have to take my leave."

Everyone nodded, and some already knew what was going to happen.

Then Mom took her leave from the banquet with Amy. I followed them and leaned toward sister Elena.

"I’ll come to take my stories another time."

She laughed, and Luna glared at me. "You won’t dare."

I said with a smug expression, "What won’t I dare to do?"

She gave me a death glare.

As we went out, Astrid made her way to the place where that historical moment happened.

Grandma came to my side and gave me a pat on the shoulder. "Hmm, you handled that situation right."

"It’s good that you went to Astrid instead of your mom. If you went to her at the first thing, this would have become a big scandal, ending with her slaughtering all of them."

She sighed.

I looked at her with confusion. "Ah, yeah, yeah."

She looked at me with suspicion, so I spilled the beans.

"At that time, if I told Mom, I wouldn’t have had a chance to do anything to that bastard, so..."

Before I finished, we arrived at the room and saw it, so I looked at it as Grandma looked at it too.

Then Astrid opened the door as I covered Luna’s eyes.

Luna called to me, "Hey, Gray, what are you doing?"

Then I heard Elena’s voice. "Nice one, Gray. Keep her eyes closed."

I nodded, and the next moment, like magic, they got dressed.

I coughed and released Luna’s eyes.

She looked in front and realized what happened, and an amused smile appeared on her face.

The next moment, they were both in front of Mom, like kneeling. Both came to their senses from the sheer hostile mana.

Then they remembered all that had happened, and their eyes looked hollow.

Then Zane came from the back and saw his son kneeling. He immediately came and hugged him and looked into his son’s hollow eyes.

I observed, ’Oh boy, that must be a traumatic experience. Poor soul.’

Mom just watched all of this without any explanation whatsoever.

Then Mom asked with her authoritative voice, "So, Zane, tell me what punishment is suitable for him."

Then Mom looked at Amy. After all, she was the one he plotted against. "Say, Amy, what do you want to do?"

Zane glared at us with bloodshot eyes. "What do you want to do more? Isn’t that enough? Nothing happens to your daughter, and my son is the one who suffers."

Amy smiled. "So what? I came out safe because of my ability, and your son got caught because of his ability. That doesn’t mean we let this go."

Mom said, "No one touches a Starlight and goes out free. It’s the same for family members."

Then Mom looked at me and Luna. "Gray, Luna, you two go. We will take care of this situation."

I looked at Mom with wide eyes. "But Mom..."

Mom cut me off. "No buts, Gray."

I understood. She still thought I was too young, but when I thought about it, I was really too young.

I looked at Luna, and she nodded, and we left.

I followed her with a defeated expression.

Mom’s eyes softened for a moment as she saw my defeated expression.

Amy looked at me and nodded, and Luna and I left.

I wondered what Mom was going to do. Sending Luna and me away kept wondering in my mind, but I had seen many slaughters and killings, yet I still hadn’t seen a torture scene. But she kept Amy and Elena.

No fair. They were only three years older than us.

Luna saw my pouting expression and laughed. "Why are you looking like that?"

I said, "That’s not fair. I want to see that bastard suffer as well."

She smiled. "Okay, okay. Let’s go to the room and sleep. Remember, tomorrow is an important day as well."

I nodded, and we went to our rooms. I let her go to her room as well because today was an eventful day, and I knew she needed to take a rest as well.

"See you, Gray."

I waved at her. "See you, Luna."

She smiled and went to her room.

Then I went to my room as well and took a wash after taking off this outfit, and I directly went to the bed. It wasn’t bedtime yet, but I went to it. Who doesn’t want to take a long sleep?

I don’t know how long I slept until the morning after that.

When I woke up, it was already morning. Today was the succession. I’m a little curious about it. Amy was participating, after all.

I got up and immediately got ready and made my bed as usual. Then I went to find Luna.

I knocked on her door, but there was no response, so I waited. Then I saw Amy coming, so I went to her side.

She looked at me and saw I wasn’t in a good mood, so she asked, "What happened? Did Luna lock you out of her room?"

She smiled. "Gray, it’s not good to go to girls’ rooms, you know."

I glared at her. "I don’t know. I think she is still sleeping. I’m not worried about that. Tell me what happened last night. What did Mom do to that guy? Is he dead?"

Amy looked at me, speechless. "You... still think about that?"

I nodded, but she just shrugged and said, "I don’t know either. Mom kept me and asked a few questions to fully understand the situation, and Elena and I went with Mom and Grandma while they resolved it."

My face fell. "Ahh..."

But Amy added, "Don’t worry, you’re not gonna see him again."

But Amy sighed a little. "It’s a waste. He is a talented person who matched me in the past, but not now. I’m way higher than him."

She said it with smugness.

I just gave her an annoyed look and said, "Yeah, yeah. You don’t even know what’s his level now."

She said with the same smugness, "It doesn’t matter. No one can defeat your amazing big sister, so don’t worry."

I just gave her a speechless look. "Why should I worry?"

She said like a matter of fact, "Huh? If in the future someone bullies you, then you can come to your amazing big sis. I’ll take care of them all."

My eyes twitched. "Why should I tell you? I hope some bullies come and bother me so I can beat them up."

She laughed. "What if someone at my level comes?"

I just yawned and said, "Even a person at your level isn’t very easy to fight. I have full confidence that I can take on some of them."

"Not the most talented, but normally talented people."

She just snorted. "Don’t underestimate the gap between ranks, Gray. It’s massive when you rank up."

"Like when you went to Mom’s rank, even a minor rank makes a difference, like heaven and earth."

I just shrugged. "Then I just bridge that gap. No big problem."

She just looked at me, speechless. "Ah, it’s better to convince a rock."

I just shrugged and said, "It’s not my problem. I’m this talented."

Amy just snorted. "Arrogance."

I grinned at that. "That’s me."

Then Luna came out, and immediately I went to Amy’s side.

"Then, Amy, you have to protect me from this evil princess."

Amy blinked and laughed. "Ahh, that’s something your amazing sister is incapable of. Good luck, little brother."

Luna’s eyes twitched. The first thing in the morning, she heard this.

"Gray, you..."

"Aaa, help, Amy!"

She grinned and caught me and handed me to Luna to hit.

My eyes widened. "You betrayer!"

Luna’s mouth curved into a crescent smile. "Hmm, serves you right. Thank you, sister Amy."

Amy grinned and nodded. "Any time. If this brat misbehaves, tell me. I’m here to take care of it."

I looked at her wide-eyed. "You switched sides without even thinking about it."

Amy nodded with a smug look.

We all laughed, and finally, Elena came too and asked about the commotion.

Then she grinned and said, "Oh, don’t worry, Gray. I got you. If Luna misbehaves, you tell me. I’ll take care of it."

This time, Luna’s eyes widened at the betrayal.

I nodded at sister Elena. "Thank you, sister Elena."

Then we all left for breakfast.
