The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 503 - 501: Chaos Unleashed
At the final moment, Erina still chose to block the waves, not letting the seawater drown Dragon Island.
Even if that flooding could only take away some people’s lives, thanks to the Array, most would still be protected.
But in the end, Erina still made his choice.
"Sacrificing ordinary people doesn’t help much in condensing the Fire Spirit. Tens of thousands of them aren’t as useful as the flesh and blood of a single High-tier Mage."
Erina let out a breath.
His majestic gaze swept downward.
Countless people lifted their heads, looking at the mighty figure in the sky, all breathing out in relief.
As the ice wall rose, the trembling of the ground also slowly stopped.
The sinking of Dragon Island had reached its limit.
Thus, people assumed it was Erina’s intervention that stopped the earthquake.
They were inside Dragon Island and didn’t know the quake was caused by the island’s sinking; they simply thought it was the volcano eruption and the Fire Spirit’s birth—strictly speaking, they weren’t wrong.
Erina’s move immediately stopped the quake, the tsunami froze, and his back, to the suffering people below, looked even more grand and towering.
Rose glanced over. From his vantage point, faint strands of Divine Power of faith were gathering, flying toward Erina and sinking into his body.
Rose mused to himself, "So this Erina knows that after breaking the limit, he needs to cultivate Divine Power of faith? Looks like he ran into something interesting when he advanced."
In the Holy Court, all documents concerning Divine Power of faith had long been destroyed, not a scrap left behind.
Any possible path that could help Mages on the Starfall Continent advance, he cut off one by one.
However, Rose didn’t believe Zeus’s methods could completely block the Mages’ progression.
Not to mention that his cultivation method doesn’t require Divine Power of faith at all, and isn’t something Zeus can hinder.
Even the traditional promotion methods would, through trial and error, be rediscovered.
Five hundred years is probably the upper limit for a blockade.
After being cut off for so long, Tier Six Mages who have never advanced are bound to try everything to find a breakthrough.
Just like what Erina is doing now: they believe the Fire Spirit greatly helps with breaking the limit, so they recreated the scene from a century ago, hoping to use this method to forge new Tier Seven Mages once again.
If the Blue Dragon Empire had two Tier Seven Mages, they could probably sweep the entire world.
Still, the other empires are likely also trying their own ways to advance.
It’s just unknown whether they’re as extreme as the Blue Dragon Empire.
"But in the end, will he just let all this preparation go to waste?" Rose leaned against the parapet, watching the show.
Since Erina chose to act and keep Dragon Island from being flooded, Rose saw no need to intervene again.
As for Mages fighting to the death, that had nothing to do with him.
"The Tower of Descent probably won’t let him hold back the seawater."
Just as Rose thought this, he felt the seawater around Dragon Island rapidly melting.
High above, Erina’s expression changed as he looked toward the largest ice wall.
On the ice wall, golden threads were rapidly linking together, forming a huge net that sank into the glacier.
In the next instant, the glacier turned into enormous, evenly cut blocks of ice that shattered apart.
The force of the seawater came crashing in!
Erina raised his Magic Staff, Ice Element Magic Power flaring, and a new ice wall condensed again. He rushed forward, arriving beneath the glacier, looking at the shadowy figure shrouded in black robes ahead.
Feeling the fluctuations from the other party that were not far off from his own, Erina’s gaze sharpened. "So you are the friend who killed the Love Witch?"
The black-robed shadow turned around to face Erina. His face was hazy, not allowing Erina to see clearly.
"No."
Erina frowned. "We’ve never met, have we? Then why are you sabotaging my Magic?"
The shadow said blandly, "To lure you here."
Erina’s face changed, and just as he was about to leave, strands of golden thread had already spread over.
"You’re courting death!"
A terrifying fight erupted in an instant.
At the same time, in the volcano region.
Guy was hidden beneath the crater, watching in excitement as the Fire Spirit above slowly stopped absorbing Molten Fire.
"It’s stopped absorbing Molten Fire, the suction is weakening. Next comes complete condensation..."
Guy seemed to see Tier Seven beckoning to him.
Just then, a voice suddenly rang out.
"Mr. Guy, don’t get excited so soon. For condensation, it’s still short... one Tier Six Mage’s fresh blood."
Alarms blared in Guy’s heart. He quickly unleashed defensive Magic, then summoned out his Magic Puppet.
Only then did he clearly see the one who struck.
"Moon Witch, Diana?"
He gave a cold laugh. "So you plan to sacrifice yourselves as the flesh and blood for the Fire Spirit’s birth? How very considerate of you. The Love Witch is already dead—next it’s your turn. Please, go ahead."
The Moon Witch smiled softly. "Oh? Then let’s see who ends up as the Fire Spirit’s flesh and blood."
Battle atop the crater erupted swiftly.
The fights outside the city and at the crater were both keenly sensed by the Dragon Rider Corps. There were officers in charge for both sides, but they could not intervene at all in the fight outside the city.
So quite a few regiment-level Mages rushed upward, entered the volcano region, and moved to support Guy.
Rose watched several Mages charging over and shook his head.
"It’s getting messy."
He turned toward a certain part of Dragon Island. His gaze pierced the buildings and saw Raphael inside.
Raphael was with Shaline.
Shaline had become the "sacrifice" of the summoning ritual. These days she had been maintaining the Array, leaving her extremely weak. Raphael had not chosen to take her away, but left her here.
Rose chuckled softly. "This girl may insist she doesn’t care, but in truth she minds quite a lot. No wonder she caught my eye."
He pondered for a moment, then quietly released a trace of his own aura, conveying an intent to Raphael.
Raphael suddenly looked over, but Rose had already vanished.
She had felt that intent, and her gaze slowly grew fervent.
Then his figure flickered, and he appeared in the central square of Dragon Island.
This square wasn’t far from the volcano and was an excellent distant viewing spot.
Because of the previous earthquake, many people had gathered here. At the same time, this square was also one of the core nodes of Dragon Island’s Array.
After Rose appeared, he immediately sank his Spiritual Power into the square’s Array node, then looked at the blond-haired woman being surrounded by many people.
She gazed at the intense waves of Magic Power erupting over the volcano and smiled faintly.
"Although unexpected events made Daisina die early, she became the Fire Spirit’s flesh and blood in the end, which counts as making full use of her. Next..."
She looked at the countless people in the square and licked her lips.
"So many people, with quite a few low-tier Mages among them. Add that Guy’s flesh and blood, and it’s enough."
"Is that so?" a cool voice came.
She saw a red-haired woman slowly walking toward her.
The immense pressure that followed made her feel as if she had fallen into an ice cellar.
