Chapter 288: Why The Hell is She Here?

Sienna stayed where she was for another moment before she left her office.

As she stepped into the hallway, she ran into Mia, who was walking toward her.

Mia immediately looked at her with concern. "Sienna, two people are asking to meet you. And they look suspicious."

"Suspicious?" Sienna asked curiously. "What do you mean by suspicious?"

Mia leaned closer to Sienna and whispered, "These two people are a man and a woman. The man looks and poses like a bodyguard, while the woman covers her face as if she doesn’t want anyone to recognize her. Ugh... she looks like a celebrity out in public but trying to hide her face so no one can recognize her."

Hearing that, Sienna became even more confused.

"Well, after hearing your explanation, they are indeed suspicious."

"I know, right?" Mia said with satisfaction.

"Alright, I’m on my way to meet them," Sienna replied casually. "Let’s see who they are and why they wanted to meet me."

Although her voice remained calm and indifferent, she was curious about who these people were and why they had gone to such lengths to meet her.

Mia looked toward the café before turning back to Sienna. "Do you want me to accompany you?"

Sienna smiled reassuringly and continued walking toward the café.

"No need to worry. I can handle it."

Mia didn’t look entirely convinced, but she didn’t argue. She followed Sienna for a few steps, then stopped when Sienna continued ahead.

Sienna entered the café and immediately spotted the two people sitting at a table near the large glass window. They were the only guests in the otherwise quiet room.

The man appeared to be the person who had introduced himself as Jacky Gray. Sienna studied his face from a distance, but she couldn’t recognize him. There was nothing familiar about him, and she had no idea why he wanted to meet her.

She continued walking toward them, her expression calm as she tried to figure out what this unexpected visit was about.

Then, as she came a few steps closer, the woman sitting opposite Jacky suddenly turned her head in Sienna’s direction.

For a moment, Sienna only saw part of her face beneath the large sunglasses and hat. She might have continued walking without giving the woman much thought if not for the sudden familiarity that caught her attention.

Sienna slowed down.

Her eyes widened as she looked at the woman more carefully.

The moment she recognized her, Sienna felt as if her mind had stopped working for a fraction of a second. She hadn’t expected to see this woman here, especially not after everything that had happened in the past.

Her thoughts immediately raced through all the possibilities, but none of them made sense.

’Jessica Simmons!? Why the hell is she here?’

Sienna stared at her, trying to understand why Jessica had come to The Secret Garden. More importantly, this place was not yet open to the public; only a few close friends and family knew about it.

The uneasiness that had been building inside Sienna since the staff member first told her about the visitors suddenly became much stronger. She had no idea what Jessica wanted, but judging by how she arrived with Jacky Gray and concealed her appearance, Sienna knew this meeting was unlikely to be a simple visit.

Still, she forced herself to look unbothered, and even uninterested. She continued walking toward them, discreetly determined to find out exactly why Jessica Simmons had come looking for her.

Then she stopped a few steps away from them and asked calmly, "Hello, are you looking for me?"

"Hey, yes. I’m Jacky Gray..." the man replied in a not-so-polite tone, looking at her sharply.

Sienna was speechless for a moment as she watched the man sit in the chair so naturally, as if he owned the place instead of her. His attitude was already enough to irritate her, but she refused to let it show.

She kept her composure and calmly said, "Mr. Gray, I don’t remember having an appointment with you. This place isn’t officially open yet. You can come back when we’re open to the public."

Jacky appeared to grit his teeth. Instead of answering her, he turned toward the woman in front of him, as if expecting her to say something.

The woman slowly took off her sunglasses and looked at Sienna. A smile spread across her face, but there was something strange about it.

To Sienna, the woman’s smile looked almost suspicious, as if she were trying to appear friendly while struggling to hide her anger. A sharpness in her eyes made the smile feel completely unnatural.

"Hello, Sienna," the woman said in a melodious, almost angelic voice. "We meet again."

Sienna was finally convinced who she was. There was no doubt in her mind that this woman was Jessica Simmons, her husband’s ex-girlfriend.

She had seen her before, but she had never expected Jessica to appear at her café like this, especially without warning.

Whatever reason had brought her here, Sienna already disliked the feeling that came with her presence.

"I’m sorry, who are you? I don’t remember ever meeting you—"

Sienna couldn’t finish her sentence because Jacky suddenly slammed his hand against the table. The sharp sound echoed through the quiet café.

"What the fuck!" he shouted as he shoved his chair back and stood up. His expression darkened, and his eyes became frighteningly sharp. "Have you just come out of a cave? How could you not know her? She is—"

"Stop, Jacky!" Jessica interrupted him firmly.

Jacky fell silent, but the anger in his eyes remained. He stared at Sienna as if he couldn’t believe she had dared pretend she didn’t know Jessica. His posture was tense, and he looked like he struggled to control his temper.

At the same time, the café door swung open loudly, drawing everyone’s attention.

Logan appeared at the entrance the moment he saw Jacky make a threatening gesture toward his madam; his expression hardened as if he was ready for a battle.

Sienna saw the anger on Logan’s face. His eyes moved from Jacky to her, clearly waiting for some kind of signal of what he should do. She quickly lifted her hand, silently signaling him not to interfere.
