Sienna Johnson advised, "Adrian Desmond, don’t just agree to things. The matter with Paige Desmond and Kiya is really tricky and not easy to resolve."

"I know, I haven’t agreed to anything. Wasn’t it Kiya who insisted on giving it to me? If he’s giving it to me, I’ll take it."

Claire woke up and started to cry, so Sienna Johnson said to Adrian Desmond, "Claire’s awake, I won’t chat with you now. Go to bed early. Don’t drink or smoke, eat on time, did you hear me?"

"Nagging!" Adrian Desmond said this, but inside he felt a sweet warmth, like drinking an iced beverage on a hot summer day.

"If you don’t behave, don’t come back."

"I haven’t smoked or drunk! My friends are laughing at me... saying I’m scared of my wife..."

"Claire’s crying, I’m hanging up now."

"Alright."

Adrian Desmond reluctantly hung up the phone.

After hanging up, Adrian Desmond looked at the empty room and felt even lonelier.

His gaze fixed on the lotus flowers in the vase, lost in thought... The clock ticked as an hour passed while he was in a daze.

Adrian Desmond still couldn’t get sleepy at all.

Since he couldn’t sleep anyway, Adrian Desmond got up and went out.

At night, it was much cooler, not as hot as during the day.

"It’s winter in Sileria City now, I wonder who will keep your hands and feet warm..."

Sienna Johnson had cold hands and feet in winter. When winter came, she always liked to put her hands and feet on him before sleeping to keep warm.

Adrian Desmond walked towards Mirror Lake, and even before seeing it, he could smell the fragrance of the lotuses. Breezing across the grass, Adrian Desmond stood at the lake’s edge, feeling especially sad thinking that not long ago he stood here with Sienna Johnson.

"Sienna Johnson, I realize I can’t be apart from you for even a moment."

He wanted to go back, wanted to return right now.

...

The next day, Sienna Johnson sent Curly to school and then called Lucas Robertson over.

Lucas Robertson was now quite a homebody, not working, just staying with Kiki and Dominic, which Sienna Johnson really didn’t care for in a man.

"Madam, what do you want with me?"

"I want to know, if you’re not working, how do you support your wife and kids?" Sienna Johnson asked.

"I have savings, and the income from investing those savings is enough for them to use. You know, Kiki is very frugal and spends very little."

Kiki didn’t care about jewelry or brands and spent so little that Lucas Robertson had no motivation to work outside.

"Aren’t you worried about running out of money?"

"If the money runs out and Dominic is grown, I’ll go back to work."

This clingy nature of Lucas Robertson with his wife and kids was hard to change, so Sienna Johnson got to the point, "I have something I need you to do."

Lucas Robertson frowned, clearly unwilling, but said nothing.

Anyway, refusing wouldn’t help. If Kiki knew about his "ingratitude," he wouldn’t have peace either.

"It’s a small matter. With your skills, it won’t take you long. Just help me find out if Sabrina Johnson has contacted my mom, and what she wanted."

Lucas Robertson said, "Alright."

"You can go then."

"Yes, Madam."

Just as Lucas Robertson left, the nanny came in with Claire, crying and looking uneasy. When she saw her mother, Claire’s eyes fixed, and she reached out for her mother to hold her.

"What’s wrong? Why is she crying?"

The nanny said, "I don’t know, she just had milk, and the diaper is dry."

Sienna Johnson took Claire in her arms, and Claire immediately stopped crying. The nanny laughed and said, "So she was just missing her mom."

Sienna Johnson kissed Claire, who smiled too, "Claire, how about mommy takes you out to play today?"

Claire nibbled on Sienna Johnson, leaving her face covered in drool.

The nanny was very good with words, saying just what Sienna Johnson liked to hear, "As expected, mother and daughter share a bond, only after a day, Claire is already so attached to Madam."

"Yes, I’ve been gone for so long, I was really worried the child wouldn’t like me anymore."

"Madam is Claire’s biological mother, your blood runs in her veins, so of course she’s closer to you. Daughters are their mother’s little comforters."

Sienna Johnson looked at her daughter with a gentle smile.

...

Sienna Johnson took the three kids to the Early Education Center.

Sienna Johnson didn’t really believe in early education and such; she just wanted to let the kids interact more with other kids and adapt to group life sooner.

Sienna Johnson brought two nannies, and Kiki also brought Dominic along.

Sheehan and Dominic were old enough to play on their own.

Claire and Hugo needed someone to watch them.

There was a pretty little girl there, and Hugo crawled over and gave her a hug. Since he was so young, her parents couldn’t really say anything, but if he were older, he would definitely get scolded.

"Get Hugo back here quickly," Sienna Johnson said to the nanny.

"Yes, Madam."

The nanny quickly picked up Hugo, and Sienna Johnson looked at her younger son, feeling that he was smiling mischievously.

"Just like your dad, you little rascal."

Hugo showed his little teeth, smiling at Sienna Johnson, and she couldn’t help but laugh.

Sienna Johnson wiped his drool and said, "A man should be reserved, you can’t just hug pretty girls like that, it’s very tasteless.

You’re just a child now, but when you’re older, they might call you a pervert."

Kiki said, "He’s just a little boy, what does he know..."

Hugo saw another pretty little girl come in and crawled towards her again, Sienna Johnson said, "Look, such a young child, but already so fond of girls..."

Hugo only played with pretty girls at the Early Education Center.

Kiki burst into laughter.

Claire snuggled obediently in her mother’s arms, shyly watching the other kids play but absolutely not joining in. If Sienna Johnson tried to force her, Claire would cry.

This temperament gave Sienna Johnson a headache.

The mother of the child, seeing Hugo hugging their daughter, jokingly said, "Oh my, you kissed our daughter, you have to take responsibility. Where are your parents? Let’s talk about marriage."

The father of the child said, "Our daughter is only six months old..."

"Good men are hard to find these days; you have to settle early."

"This kid, he’s definitely not a good man. So young, and already so fond of girls."

The child’s father clearly looked down on Hugo, likely because fathers across Orienta didn’t like their daughters’ suitors. Seeing their little princess, raised with difficulty, being taken away by their sons-in-law, would not make any man happy.

"If a man isn’t fond of girls, is he still a man?

This guy, I like him, at least he’s handsome, and he’s sure to be a little heartthrob when he grows up—pleasing to the eye."

"Wife, watch your words, don’t set a bad example for our daughter."

"Hypocrite, pretending to be upright!"

While the pretty little girl’s parents were arguing, Hugo kissed her a few more times and then smiled at the little girl, who smiled back at him.
