Chapter 317: Chapter 122: Fellow Countryman’s Treasure! Found It

"Heh, they’re surrendering already?" Lynch chuckled.

Normally, his instinct would have been to annihilate every last member of the Blue Scarves, but he needed to extract some intelligence from them, so he accepted their surrender.

Soldiers from the Ninth Battle Battalion immediately broke off into several small teams, hurrying forward to deftly process the prisoners.

First, they ordered the prisoners to lie on the ground. Then, they swiftly disarmed them, stripping them of their Armor, magic robes, and other equipment. After confiscating all their valuables, they used special shackles to bind their hands behind their backs and string them together in a line.

The entire process was as smooth as flowing water, and remarkably efficient. It was clear they had practiced this many times before.

As for the goblins scurrying about everywhere—creatures with no value as prisoners—Lynch’s order was simple: "Wipe them out. Leave none alive."

The ranged troops, the Sea of Skulls, and the Zombie Corps faithfully carried out his command, ruthlessly slaughtering every last goblin.

Caught in a tight encirclement and a pincer attack, not a single goblin managed to escape.

As for the fallen Undead Demoness, the young Vampire Esther, the Corpse Demon, and several Purple Zombies had already surrounded her.

Although she struggled desperately to save herself, she was quickly beaten into submission, losing her ability to move. Even her Soul Fire had dimmed considerably.

Then, a few Soldiers brought over a special set of restraints designed for dangerous prisoners: shackles and chains of refined iron, personally forged by the dwarf craftsman Balen Copperbeard.

The shackles not only locked down the Demoness’s neck, wrists, and ankles, but the Corpse Demon also mercilessly used its brute strength to drive a thick, barbed chain straight through her shoulder blades, completely sealing her power and ability to fly.

Meanwhile, under the cold command of its new "leader," the Goblin Airship in the sky began a shaky descent.

It finally managed a rough landing in a clearing, kicking up a huge cloud of dust.

The cabin door opened.

Forced out by three of their own who were being controlled by ghosts, the twenty or thirty surviving goblin crew members filed out one by one.

From the gunner’s assistants to the Mechanics, every single goblin had a miserable look on their face.

The human Soldiers waiting below saw this and immediately swarmed them. After the same skilled process of disarming, searching, and binding, the goblins were also strung together with sturdy ropes. Their ears drooped, and all traces of their former arrogance were gone.

Only then did Lynch, mounted on Red Rabbit, ride onto the now-quieting battlefield.

His gaze swept over the line of goblin prisoners, and he couldn’t help but reflect on them.

’The goblin race truly is one of the Pan-Continent’s most peculiar intelligent species.’

’They are individually weak and greedy by nature, yet they possess astonishing mechanical talent, a sharp mind for business, and... a knack for causing trouble.’

’Among them are artisan goblins like Ginko Wrench—who, despite loving money, take more pride in their craft and are diligent workers.’

’There are also merchant goblins who travel between the great cities—shrewd and calculating, sometimes deceitful, but at other times unexpectedly trustworthy.’

’But the most infamous of all are undoubtedly these ones right here, members of the "Goblin Venture Capital Company."’

’These guys will do anything for a profit. Robbery, smuggling, and instigating minor conflicts are just child’s play for them. As long as the price is right, there’s nothing they won’t do—from arms dealing to taking part in the conspiracies of evil powers.’

’You could call them one of the primary catalysts for turmoil on the continent.’

’Wherever there’s dirty money to be made, you’re likely to find them.’

Lynch’s gaze moved past the goblins and scanned the surroundings.

The Soldiers of Lakefront Town were experienced now. As soon as the fighting ended, they began methodically clearing the battlefield, treating the wounded, and collecting the spoils of war.

The entire battlefield was bustling with activity, yet everything was in perfect order.

Just then, Catherine, covered in blood, walked briskly toward Lynch. Following behind her were the Rock Breaker Chieftain and several other Giant leaders.

As they drew near, the Rock Breaker Chieftain was the first to stop.

He knelt on one knee, lowering his head with its thick tusks.

The Giant leaders behind him followed suit, offering Lynch their deepest respect with the highest rite the Giants reserved for their most honored allies and benefactors. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Powerful human Lord, great Lord Lynch." Rock Breaker’s voice was filled with gratitude and awe. "You and your Warriors saved the Stone Hammer Tribe in our darkest hour. You saved the Giants of Angelo. The Stone Hammer Tribe will never forget this debt of gratitude. From this day forward, you are our staunchest ally. The Warriors of Stone Hammer are willing to fight for you."

The other leaders voiced the same pledge.

Lynch felt a certain fondness for these brave Giants before him.

’Compared to the cunning and savage Gnolls, the chaotic and despicable goblins, and the unscrupulous, profit-driven venture goblins, these Giants who still retain their primitive tribal ways are actually much more likeable.’

’They may be savage, but they value trust and keep their promises. They are clear about who they owe and who owes them. Once they recognize someone as an ally and benefactor, they will never betray them.’

’Moreover, individual Giants are powerful combatants, and their regenerative abilities are exceptional. They are all excellent Warriors.’

’These few dozen Giant Warriors before me, plus the remnants of their tribe who might be scattered across Angelo... even if they can’t muster a full hundred, they’re still a force that cannot be underestimated.’

’If I could recruit some of these scattered Giants and form a "Hundred-Giant Company," they would definitely serve as an elite vanguard on the battlefield.’
