Chapter 318: Chapter 122: The Fellow Countryman’s Treasure! Found It

"Rock Breaker Chieftain, and all you warriors, please rise." Lynch stepped forward and personally helped the Chieftain to his feet, saying in a solemn tone, "Having fought side-by-side, we are now brothers in life and death. The gates of Lakefront Town will always be open to your tribe. For now, rest and rebuild your camp here. All the supplies you need—food, medicine, tools, and more—can be requisitioned from Lakefront Town. Catherine."

He turned to Catherine, who was standing at his side.

"My Lord," Catherine answered solemnly.

"You will assist the Rock Breaker Chieftain in rebuilding their camp and treating the wounded," Lynch instructed. "You’ll also be responsible for coordinating the subsequent supply shipments from Lakefront Town. Make sure our Giant allies get back on their feet as quickly as possible."

"Yes, my Lord! I’ll see it done," Catherine replied, accepting the order.

Upon hearing this, the gratitude in the eyes of the Giant leaders deepened. They began to murmur amongst themselves in their own tongue, clearly growing even more convinced by this powerful and generous human Lord.

After making initial arrangements for his Giant allies, Lynch had his army find a relatively clean valley near the battlefield and set up camp.

The next priority was to interrogate the prisoners and sort through the intelligence.

Lynch had the Blue Scarf prisoners separated for individual interrogation. He also assigned Ghosts and Purple Zombies to watch over them menacingly. Unable to withstand the pressure, the Blue Scarf prisoners quickly spilled everything they knew.

Before long, all the intelligence was sorted, compiled, and presented to Lynch.

As he read through it, his brow couldn’t help but twitch.

The intelligence revealed that the Tier Six Undead Demoness from the Netherworld was not a local, naturally occurring Undead, but had come from the Realm of the Dead.

She had been acting on the orders of a powerful being known as a "Saint," and had journeyed to the Empire’s Angelo Mountain Range specifically to find an extremely important relic.

"Saint," "Realm of the Dead," "searching for a relic"... Connecting these keywords, Lynch hardly needed to guess who the mastermind was.

It was undoubtedly his fellow countryman Lester’s former disciple, that so-called senior brother who had fled to the Realm of the Dead and become a "Saint"—Saint Adelaxius!

’That guy’s ambitions just won’t die. He’s still coveting the legacy my fellow countryman left behind.’

Unfortunately for him, being in the Realm of the Dead came with many restrictions. He didn’t dare set foot on a continent dominated by the Holy Light Church, so he could only dispatch his subordinate Undead Demoness and use proxies like the Goblin Venture Capital Company and the Blue Scarf Rebel Army to do his searching.

’My so-called senior brother probably never dreamed that the legacy our fellow countryman left behind came not only with clear coordinates in Chinese, but also a living, breathing successor.’

’And I’ve had my eye on this place for a long time, arriving in Angelo a step ahead of him.’

After dealing with the intelligence, Lynch finally had time to examine the spoils of battle.

He picked through a pile of high-value loot that had been brought before him, his gaze finally settling on a thick, leather-bound tome that emitted faint, sinister fluctuations.

It was an Evil Magic Codex, recovered from the body of the purple-robed Warlock.

The pages of this codex were actually parchment made from the hide of a High Tier Abyssal Demon, and its cover was branded with twisted, evil runes.

Its greatest value lay in the five special Magic Book Pages inside. Like Scrolls, they could be used to pre-store a total of five Tier Three or lower spells from the Negative Energy System. These could then be cast instantly in battle without any incantation or personal Mana cost, greatly enhancing both sustained combat and burst capabilities.

What interested Lynch even more was that the codex itself, simply by being held, granted its wielder an additional 10 points of Spiritual Power.

Without a doubt, this was an absolute godsend for Lynch at his current stage.

With his Undead Corps expanding daily, the strain on his Commanding Power was immense. This 10-point boost to his Spiritual Power would greatly alleviate that pressure.

The only drawback was that the item had to be "held" to take effect.

This meant that on the battlefield, he would likely have to wield his Raven Low Speech Staff in one hand while cradling this Evil Magic Codex in the other...

’What a unique image that would make.’

’The Raven Staff in my right hand, the Evil Abnormal Codex in my left, riding a zombified three-headed hellhound... My whole aesthetic is sprinting full-tilt in the direction of ’final evil boss’.’

As for the other loot, Lynch wasn’t particularly interested. He decided that after they were inventoried, they would be put into the treasury. His subordinate commanders could redeem them, and any surplus could be sold for cash and resources.

After hastily dealing with the main post-battle affairs, Lynch left the bulk of his army behind to mop up the remaining threats in the Angelo Region. He also ordered them to establish a forward base there to serve as a foothold for future operations.

With that done, Lynch delayed no further, preparing to set out in search of his fellow countryman Lester’s treasure.

This time, he brought only the core of his Undead Corps: the zombie battalion led by the Corpse Demon, the elite Skeletons led by Gu Youji and other Soul Fire Skeletons, and the three Ghost Units—Ghost Yi, Ghost Two, and Ghost San. It was a vast and mighty host.

Surrounded by his Undead Units, Lynch mounted Red Rabbit, brought the young Vampire Esther with him, and headed straight for the location marked by the Chinese coordinates.

This was the advantage of knowing the treasure’s password.

The Undead Demoness and her so-called senior brother pulling the strings only knew that the relic was likely somewhere in the Angelo Region, but they couldn’t pinpoint its exact location. They had to rely on crude methods—conquering the local indigenous people and using sheer numbers to conduct a slow search.

Lynch, on the other hand, had what was essentially a "Chinese GPS" from his fellow countryman and could march right up to the destination’s front door.
