Chapter 1147: The Inheritance of Abby Miller III
Chapter 1147: The Inheritance of Abby Miller III
“Changing our reality and taking us back to a glorious era like that of ancient times will be difficult, almost impossible.” Mylecent said seriously, despite the satisfied look on her face. “However, if you mean what you say, then you have an ally in me! Whatever your group needs to elevate Minos to such a position, I will do everything to help you!”
Kong and Jelgos looked at Mylecent in silence, realizing that her relationship with Minos was not as simple as it seemed on the surface.
Her words mixed clarity, wisdom, but also blind devotion. This was naturally strange to see together, but there was one situation in particular that made such a contradiction real…
’It seems Minos Stuart had an affair with this woman…’ Jelgos pondered silently, but without putting energy into the subject.
Meanwhile, Vicente thanked Mylecent with an honest and apparently ignorant smile. He didn’t care if Minos had a love affair with Mylecent. Her promise was all that mattered.
After thanking her, Vicente felt he had completed his missions in Hell for the time being and breathed a sigh of relief. ’After we leave to reunite Rex and Larissa, it will be time to return to work alongside Theloria in Red Enclave.
But leaving wasn’t something he could do immediately!
Mylecent’s promise was what he was looking for, but the current situation this woman was in, as well as her interests and actions, were still mostly a mystery to Vicente.
Mylecent wasn’t psychic, but she could understand the sudden details between the lines. Seeing Vicente become pensive, she changed the direction of the conversation.
“Your plans are vague and will naturally only be developed as our opponents show themselves. I don’t imagine we’ll be having meetings to talk about returning to former glory any time soon. However, there are things you can do that will help us increase our chances of succeeding alongside Minos.”
“Oh? What does the Senior have in mind?” Vicente left his fixed gaze, directed at the ground, to look again at Mylecent’s beautiful face.
She said to the three visitors, “Before you arrived, I was already working on being useful to Minos when I meet him again in the future.
Unlike you, I come from the same plane as him and have had a few chances to be by his side.” At this point, her voice became a little melancholy. “Unfortunately, I couldn’t accompany him any longer, always being busy, fighting, hiding, and when I was available, it was he who was moving around to deal with his problems…
Sigh! But after seeing him for the last time and hearing his promise, I spent all my time focused on working to make myself useful. Since then, I haven’t returned to my plane once and I’ve always been in Hell, getting stronger.”
She looked at Vicente, ignoring Kong and Jelgos. “I’ve been doing that through Abby’s inheritance.”
Jelgos felt his concentration sharpen, his breathing becoming imperceptible, his thoughts fading. At that moment, all that was in the world for him was Mylecent’s voice.
“As some rumors have it, Abby’s inheritance contained two supreme laws. Unfortunately, I don’t know who got the first of them, but I got the second. The Law of Death.”
Mylecent gestured, as she sat on a throne of coal-black rocks. “The Law of Death is very easy to understand. Its name is suggestive. The important thing to know about it is that it gives you the power to kill. Those who cultivate this law are great necromancers, assassins, in short, every macabre profession depends a little on this law.”
Vicente remembered Lauren and the Book of Death, the magical form of his older sister.
Mylecent continued, “And the one who holds a law, naturally controls it and all those who cultivate the same law as the basis of their cultivation…”
A sickle of black liquid formed in one of her hands, emanating a chilling aura.
“That, of course, depends on soul power.” She pointed in Jelgos’ direction. “Think of this guy’s master. Even if he had cultivated the Law of Death, I could never control or remove his powers. That’s because Senior Lothur Ritter is the strongest creature in existence. Unless, of course, the difference between him and me was small, then I would have control over his powers, even if I were a little weaker in level.”
“That wouldn’t be possible…” Jelgos said quietly.
Mylecent just smiled. “It was just an example.” She looked back at Vicente. “Anyway, that’s how important it is to keep control of a law. Abby’s inheritance contained the Law of Death and the Law of Darkness. Unfortunately, I only have one of them and yet I’ve reached the cultivation I’m at now.”
She looked at him suggestively. “Do you know what I mean?”
Vicente did. There were a few different meanings to Mylecent saying these things to them. One, she was saying that, because of how valuable her supreme law was, she had many enemies, powerful enemies, to say the least. Another meaning was that she was interested in obtaining more laws, or at least having allies who would have those laws.
She went on with her monologue. “So that brings me to my present situation. My enemies are eager to face me on the battlefield and defeat me. But it’s not as simple as stealing my law…” Her eyes suddenly narrowed. “There is a rumor among our enemies,” she said in a lower tone. “That Abby’s inheritance of two laws wasn’t just by luck or a coincidence. Supposedly, the Law of Death and the Law of Darkness are related… If the two holders of them unite, they should be able to turn the sky upside down!”
Kong and Jelgos immediately realized what she was after.
“Do you wish to confront them to recover this part of Senior Abby’s inheritance?” Kong asked, surprised at this woman’s audacity.
She smiled, shaking her head. “Before I met you, I wanted to give this inheritance to one of my trusted subordinates. But now that you’re here and I see that the ’Chosen of Hell’ rumors seem to be true, we can take an alternative route!”
Kong and Jelgos looked at Vicente, both wondering what it would be like if this man held such a law.
But Mylecent sighed after her words. “It’s just a shame that the Law of Darkness is broken. Abby’s predecessor left a report about it. Whoever holds this law will be powerful like few others, but they won’t have the full powers of a supreme law.”
“That…” Jelgos opened his mouth, his eyes wide as it could be.
“That’s not possible!” Kong retorted. “Laws are the pillars of reality. How can the Law of Darkness be broken?!” He points to Vicente.
If something like that were true, how could there be an individual with such strong powers of darkness?
