Chapter 1146: The Inheritance of Abby Miller II
Vicente, Kong and Jelgos felt Mylecent’s instant change strangely. In an instant, she was ready to kill them mercilessly, having attacked with enough force to make the white dragon there bleed from several pores. But suddenly, she became peaceful. Her oppressive aura disappeared and all the undead stopped.
A serene and beautiful smile appeared on her face as she showed her palace with one of her hands. “Since you were handpicked by Minos, of course I agree to associate with you, young man.”
Vicente smiled bitterly as Kong tried to pull himself together.
Jelgos felt his body prickle after blocking Mylecent’s move against them and sighed. He couldn’t help but look at this woman with different eyes.
’Apart from my master and the ladies, I doubt anyone else in Hell can handle her easily!’
Ignoring Kong and Jelgos, Mylecent focused on Vicente after ordering her underlings back to their waiting positions.
“So, young man, what do you expect from me? What are your plans?” She asked, looking into Vicente’s eyes and noticing more than the others could at first glance. ’That’s a really good foundation! Too bad Hell is incomplete, or he’d be like that guy…’ She thought about Jelgos’ master for a moment.
Vicente imagined that Mylecent had his own plans, but since she first wanted to hear him out, he wouldn’t be discourteous not to answer her questions. He returned to normal after the woman’s sudden change of mood and replied, “Well, I think the most important thing for me is to restore the Nine Paths and unite the countless dimensions again, just as they were connected in the distant past.”
Kong and Jelgos became more serious, as was to be expected when dealing with such a profound subject.
The return of the Nine Paths would mean the end of Hell and Argardus, as the two dimensions currently were. There might be great opportunities in making such a process restorative of the past order, but destruction and loss would be inevitable.
While they might want such a return to former glory, there were many beings, both in Hell and in Argardus, who would oppose such a thing at the slightest sign of interest in it.
In particular, after all his personal experience, but also his journey alongside Vicente, Kong couldn’t help worrying about the successors of the enemies of the Celestial King, who could become the worst stones in their path.
Mylecent had already heard a little about these matters and was more up-to-date than the group visiting her first thought. Although she was a relatively new Devil, she had been used to Hell for tens of thousands of years!
She became a little more serious when she heard Vicente’s objective, but she didn’t interrupt him.
“Senior Minos seems to be a vital figure in such an endeavor, something I initially didn’t know what his role would be, but now that I’ve discovered some critical information, I know what his destiny is and how we’re connected.”
“And what would that look like?” She asked, putting her good-natured side from a moment ago aside as they entered her palace of death. Her tone couldn’t hide how eager she was to know everything.
Vicente continued as his two companions followed behind them in silence. “Senior Minos is the successor to a legendary figure from ancient times, the Celestial King!
I don’t know if Senior Minos knows this or if he already knows about his own destiny, but I am certain that he is that existence. And given how I was saved by him and then turned into a Devil by his wife, I know in my heart that we are connected and have similar goals.
Perhaps he doesn’t want to bring back the ancient era for the same reasons I do. But I’m confident he and I have the same goal and eventually we’ll get to where we’re fighting on the same side for this cause!”
“And how do you see yourself doing that?” Mylecent asked darkly. “About the Celestial King, I’ve heard a few legends about him. But what I know most about is how Hell and Argardus have hated each other since their origins and yet their sovereign leaders agree, almost unanimously, on the taboo about ancient times.
The destruction of the Nine Paths was not something natural, but a catastrophic event generated by a few beings. Their descendants established Hell and Argardus and since then the current era has been maintained exactly as those first descendants wished!”
Countless generations of Deities and Devils had passed since the calamity of the end of the Nine Paths. Vicente knew that the one million years that his people in Polaris Realm had experienced since that time had been much longer for Argardus and Hell.
A reality that had lasted millions and millions of years could not be changed easily!
It was no coincidence that Kong’s attempts, alongside Theloria’s group and several other revolutionary figures, had repeatedly failed in their crusade!
Even when they had Transcendents, they failed. Even though Theloria had already become a respected Transcendent, she still didn’t dare to act alone.
These were some of the many signs over time that proved the strength of those interested in keeping with reality as it was now.
Why did they do it? Vicente knew the answer.
In the reality of millions of years ago, before the cataclysm that ended the Nine Paths in almost their entirety, there were Absolute beings. These beings were invincible and impossible to move. Against one of them, only another Absolute would stand a chance. For the rest, everyone was at the disposal of the Absolute’s goodwill.
But while it was tempting to want to go one step further and reach the pinnacle of magical cultivation, only a few beings could do that.
Even powerful figures today would have no chance of reaching such a level, if things went back to the way they used to be!
But today these beings live as immortals and even the two individuals that no one had the courage to challenge—Lydis and Lothur—had their limitations. Even though they were almost invincible, neither of them was Absolute and had their weaknesses. Not only that, because there was no possibility of growth, neither of them was ambitious enough to wreak havoc in their dimensions in search of their own strength.
And that, for these beneficiaries of the current era, was perfect!
Vicente nodded to Mylecent in recognition. He understood how difficult it would be and answered her. “That will depend a lot on Senior Minos. In short, everything depends on his power. So our job is to support him in getting to the point where he can, if he really wants to, take us back to the ancient era. To do this, we will fight against everything and everyone in our path!”
Vicente could never detail a plan right then and there. There really wasn’t anything so developed that he could explain it to Mylecent.
After all, his group still depended on meeting Minos again and combining their knowledge, will, and strength.
But he explained his card up his sleeve without fail, and Mylecent loved his answer.
’If it depends on strengthening Minos, then no matter who stands in my way, I must move forward with this group’s goal!’
