Taking the Mafia to the Magic World

Chapter 1148: New Target: Law of Darkness

Chapter 1148: New Target: Law of Darkness

Mylecent took a deep breath. It wasn’t strange that Kong and Jelgos didn’t believe what she had just told them. Laws were, after all, the pillars of reality. But what she had said she was sure was the absolute truth.

Devil Abby Miller had held the power of the Laws of Death and Darkness during her short time in Hell, even though she hadn’t completely mastered them. Because of this, Mylecent, who now held the Law of Death, was well aware of the truth.

She explained to the three in front of her, “It’s really hard to believe, but it’s the absolute truth. And it’s not for nothing that our reality is dysfunctional. Have you ever stopped to think about the end of the Nine Paths, the way the Reincarnation Wheel split and lost some of its powers, as well as the problem of ghosts and spectres on different planes?”

The three pondered in silence, each having already seen enough evidence of reality’s flaws compared to how things should be.

Mylecent continued, “The Law of Darkness is just one of the supreme pillars of reality that is incomplete. Other ancient laws are almost completely gone. Beyond the abyssal regions of Hell and Argardus, where even beings like Senior Lothur Ritter must take care, there are fragments of these laws.

Finally, in the case of the Law of Darkness, luckily it is only about 25% incomplete. And according to Abby’s predecessor, Argardus has 90% of what is missing from the Law of Darkness.”

If that was the truth, then it made sense that the Law of Darkness still worked almost perfectly, and they understood how someone like Vicente could exist under those circumstances.

Kong then asked, “Is that why Senior Abby Miller could master two laws?”

The power of the laws was very intense and challenging. Mastering a single supreme law should be a difficult enough task that less than one in a trillion would be able to achieve it!

But to have two of them simultaneously? Well, that was almost impossible to achieve!

Mylecent didn’t know everything and said, “Maybe. I don’t know for sure, but that must have been the case.”

“Still, that’s really impressive.” Jelgos said in a solemn tone. “Imagine how strong she would have been if she had continued as a Devil until now?”

Vicente sighed, remembering the day he saw Minos and the man’s wives. “That wasn’t their destiny, so let’s not imagine something impossible.” He turned to Mylecent, thinking about her proposal. “So you want me to master the Law of Darkness so we can combine our powers?”

She nodded with a smile on her lips. “That’s the case. You are destined for darkness. That’s undeniable. There is no one better than you in all of Hell to have this last supreme law ’available’ in our dimension.”

“But…” Kong hesitated, thinking about how incomplete this power was.

Mylecent said, “Supreme laws are extremely rare and extremely powerful. Those who hold them keep the secret behind several layers of protection. Apart from a few special cases, no one else in the dimension knows who holds each of the supreme laws.

So it’s not good to hesitate in the face of our situation. Maybe the Law of Darkness isn’t the best in Hell at the moment, but I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to reach the one who has access to it. And even if it isn’t complete, with your practically perfect affinity with darkness, Vicente, you’ll be almost as powerful with it as you would be with other supreme laws!”

Mylecent was critical in her words. Faced with uncertain and unpredictable circumstances, it was better for everyone that Vicente took this chance.

“And in the end, I will be your support in Hell. The Law of Darkness and the Law of Death complement each other, which will give us an even better condition!”

Vicente wasn’t one to hesitate when faced with important decisions. Understanding the situation, agreeing with several of Mylecent’s mentions, but also remembering how difficult it would be to restore reality to the old order of things, he couldn’t choose another path.

“All right. Let’s get on with your plans.” He said firmly, feeling in his heart that this was the right decision for him.

’My affinity with darkness really is unparalleled. It would only be natural for me to go in search of control of the Law of Darkness!

As for it being incomplete, that’s how things stand now!’ His eyes sharpened. ’If we succeed in our plans, the possibilities ahead will be unimaginable!’

Mylecent smiled at Vicente, pleased to hear him so determined. She then said, “The only problem is dealing with the enemy. He’s a Transcendent 7-Star, one of the strongest of the current generation of Hell leaders.

I’ve been preparing to deal with him for some time now, but I can’t deny that my chances of victory are not encouraging. I estimate that, before your group arrived, I had a 27% chance of victory. Not by chance, I was hiding in my domain.” She laughed bitterly.

“But with Senior Lothur Ritter’s envoy,” she looked at Jelgos, “and the two of you, our chances of victory would be at least 45%.”

It was still a dismal chance, but they couldn’t back down, given the possibilities that a victory would open up for everyone there.

Jelgos still wanted to become a high-level Transcendent. Kong wanted to see his life’s goal realized with Vicente’s success. And Vice wanted to get stronger so that he could complete his plans and finally be reunited with his family.

“So, what can we do now? Who exactly is the enemy?” Jelgos asked.

“Barraz, the Mountain Demon.” Mylecent named the enemy. “He has a slightly smaller army than mine, but of better quality. He probably holds the Law of Darkness, but he hasn’t taken control of it yet. Otherwise, he would have come after me personally by now.”

“Is that so?” Kong asked. “This Barraz’s men were looking for you. Maybe he doesn’t know where you are.”

Mylecent laughed, shaking his head. “Barraz wants to undermine my strength before he faces me. His men aren’t really capable of realizing where I am, so they have to look for me. He, however, is different. If he comes, he’ll find me easily.”

“He won’t because you have a complete supreme law and he’s not confident…” Vicente murmured.

She nodded positively. “I believe he hasn’t conquered the Law of Darkness yet, or if he has, he doesn’t control it well enough to use a flawed law against me. Therefore, we must act together and attack him before he has a chance to become even stronger!”

Mylecent smiled, showing his advantage. “But while his group would have some difficulty finding me, I know exactly where to look for him!”
