Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 388 - 387: S-Class Creature
Chapter 388: Chapter 387: S-Class Creature
It endured the excruciating, tearing pain in its throat and forced up the claw protecting its chest to parry again. Simultaneously, it desperately twisted its body to one side, and as it landed, it swiped its other claw at Seraphina Sinclair with palpable hatred!
Of the three streaks of Blade Aura, two were barely batted away by the dragon’s claw, while the third grazed its body, leaving only a shallow scratch on its silver-white scales.
It had effortlessly dodged the strongest attack Seraphina Sinclair had managed to unleash, an attack she had exhausted herself just to create an opening for.
Only then did Seraphina Sinclair truly understand the physical prowess of an S-Class creature.
Even though it was so heavily injured it could only exert the power of a C-level monster, its scales still possessed the defensive capabilities of an S-Class creature.
That was why, even though Water Dragon Roar was a B-level longsword, its Blade Aura could only leave a faint scratch on the scales.
And at that very moment, the Storm Dragon’s hate-filled claw swept toward her without an ounce of mercy!
Even though Seraphina Sinclair reacted the instant she saw it, activating a D-level Skill and a C-level Swift Scroll to accelerate her evasion, it was still too late...
The disadvantage of their size difference was laid bare in that instant.
Seraphina Sinclair had already moved what felt like a significant distance away, but to the Storm Dragon... she was still within reach of its outstretched claw.
BAM!
Seraphina Sinclair was viciously struck by the edge of the dragon’s claw, an impact of pure, brute force.
She felt like she’d been hit head-on by a high-speed freight train. Her organs felt like they had been instantly rearranged, and a coppery sweetness filled her throat as blood spilled uncontrollably from the corner of her mouth.
The azure barriers formed by several Moonlight Heart Protection Talismans shattered like fragile glass, dissolving into a shower of fading light.
Like a kite with its string cut, she was sent flying backward, slamming hard into the rock face behind her—a wall already shredded by Wind Blades.
Rubble rained down, burying the lower half of her body as dust and smoke filled the air.
Agony washed over her in waves, and it felt as if her very bones were groaning in protest.
Spots danced before Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes. Her hand, clutching Water Dragon Roar, trembled so violently she could barely keep her grip on the hilt.
In her fading vision, the great silver-white dragon slowly pushed itself up. A guttural sound, a mixture of suppressed agony and rage, rumbled from deep within its throat. Its Dark Gold vertical pupils, like two flickering yet fiercely burning lamps, were locked dead on her.
The last time she’d seen that particular shade of gold was on Auric Young.
Seraphina Sinclair struggled to move her eyes, her gaze falling once more upon the Great Dragon’s chest.
It seemed her attack had torn something there. Seraphina Sinclair could clearly see a fissure in the silver-white Dragon Scales near the wound. A few scales hung loosely from the flesh, a sign of significant damage.
A sudden realization dawned on Seraphina Sinclair.
Her attacks couldn’t pierce the Storm Dragon’s scales, but they could easily penetrate the old wound on its chest.
In fact, any large movement the Storm Dragon made would aggravate that old injury.
The damage from the old wound was far greater than any she could inflict herself.
And... Seraphina Sinclair glanced at the Storm Dragon’s still-open mouth.
The injuries inside its mouth were self-inflicted.
To kill this dragon, she didn’t need to cleave through its indestructible Dragon Scales with her Blade. She just needed to make the Great Dragon kill itself!
The strategy struck her like a bolt of lightning, and for a moment, the searing pain was suppressed by the fire in her veins.
Seraphina Sinclair coughed up a mouthful of bloody froth and immediately used several Healing Potions before silently taking out an Advanced Medical Kit.
The Healing Potions were only E-level, and their effect on her widespread, systemic injuries was minimal.
Her more severe injuries would require the Advanced Medical Kit.
But of course, the Storm Dragon wasn’t about to give her that time.
Seraphina Sinclair used the item, clinging to the faint hope that she could heal even a little.
The searing pain in its mouth was a constant reminder of what this human had done to it. The Storm Dragon’s Dark Gold pupils held nothing but the purest killing intent.
To deal with a tiny insect at the end of its rope, a few simple Wind Blades would suffice.
For the Storm Dragon, slicing up intruders with Wind Blades was one of the few pleasures it had in its hiding place. And this tiny human was the first to ever push it into such a sorry state.
It tilted its head back slightly, and several Wind Blades materialized, aimed directly at Seraphina Sinclair amidst the rubble.
The Advanced Medical Kit had just finished healing her leg; it hadn’t even begun to treat her other wounds. But the Wind Blades waited for no one. The instant they took aim, they sliced through the air toward her!
Seraphina Sinclair’s pupils contracted. Her survival instincts wrung out one final ounce of strength.
Without even a moment to think, she threw her curled body into a desperate roll to the side, simultaneously hurling the Advanced Medical Kit at the densest cluster of incoming Wind Blades!
’It has to block something.’
The kit was precious, but it was the only thing on hand that might slow down the Wind Blades.
As expected, the Advanced Medical Kit was effortlessly shredded by the Wind Blades. But the split second it bought her was precious, giving her just enough time to move.
Several Wind Blades struck the spot where she had been moments before. The one she couldn’t fully evade easily shattered the protection of a Moonlight Heart Protection Talisman before landing squarely on her just-healed leg.
PFFT!
The sharp Wind Blade sliced through skin and muscle, sending a spray of fresh blood into the air.
Agony flared through her once more. Seraphina Sinclair was in no mood to make any snide remarks now.
The last Moonlight Heart Protection Talisman in her Silver Moon Earrings was gone.
Her mind’s eye frantically scanned the items stored within, searching for anything else she could use.
’Runes... The Storm Dragon has seen those already. It’s stopped using its mouth to attack, so I can’t find an opening to do any damage. Scrolls... The Swift Scroll’s effect is still active. I’m covered in wounds; other scrolls would have little effect. What I need now is something that can turn the tables in this hopeless situation.’
’There’s only...’
’The Price.’
A look of grim resolve flashed in Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes. A Bone Nail materialized in her palm!
As if sensing her resolve, the nail erupted with an exceptionally sinister, chilling malice.
The malevolence surged up her fingertips, drilling into her arm and rushing straight for her heart!
The Storm Dragon clearly sensed it too—a foreign object radiating a completely different kind of danger.
Its Dark Gold vertical pupils contracted sharply. A wary growl rumbled from deep in its throat, and the Wind Blades gathering around its body began to form at a drastically increased speed.
It sensed a threat—the kind of threat that made its scales bristle.
But it was too late.
Seraphina Sinclair tightened her grip on the Bone Nail named "Price," and plunged its ice-cold tip viciously into her own chest, right over her heart!
PFFT!
An almost inaudible sound rang out, yet it was clear enough to make one’s blood run cold.
Agony! An indescribable, all-consuming agony.
It felt as if a red-hot branding iron, wreathed in countless venomous whispers and frenzied curses, had brutally chiseled through her flesh and bone, nailing itself with perfect precision into her furiously beating heart!
