Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 387 - 386: Rip
Chapter 387: Chapter 386: Rip
This was the source of its grievous wound! And the direct cause of its loss of power!
Seraphina Sinclair’s heart gave a sudden thump.
’A weakness!’
’A true, fatal weakness!’
’This dragon was truly powerful...’
A magnificent S-Class magical creature. If it weren’t injured, she never would have encountered it here.
But that was the situation. It was grievously wounded, with not even a tenth of its strength remaining. Its power was now only comparable to a C-level monster.
And Seraphina Sinclair, with the trump cards up her sleeve, had just enough power to slay a C-level monster!
At the precipice of life and death, any hesitation was a fatal luxury.
From the moment she’d stepped through that wall of wind... no, perhaps even earlier. The dragon had been watching her ever since she entered that calm, windless zone.
Today, it was a fight to the death. No other outcome was possible.
Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes locked onto the pitch-black Short Spear embedded in the dragon’s torso as countless thoughts raced through her mind.
’Its position and angle, my own attack range and distance, not to mention the Storm Dragon’s instinctual defense of that spot...’
’Attacking it would be difficult.’
But Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t afraid of a challenge. She was only afraid of having no hope at all.
And now, hope was right before her eyes!
The Storm Dragon seemed to sense Seraphina Sinclair’s gaze fixed on the old wound on its chest. A dangerous, cold light flashed in its Dark Gold vertical pupils. For the first time, its stoic indifference gave way to a towering rage, as if its most sacred scale had been touched.
"ROOOAR!!!"
A draconic roar suddenly erupted!
The Wind Element throughout the core region roiled violently.
Countless Wind Blades, like furious giant pythons, surged toward Seraphina Sinclair from all directions. Their speed and density instantly escalated by several orders of magnitude.
At the same time, an even heavier, more terrifying pressure bore down on her from above!
It no longer held back, its leisurely air of toying with an ant gone. Seraphina Sinclair had glimpsed its deepest scar and shame, thoroughly enraging the proud and pained Great Dragon.
Seraphina Sinclair arched an eyebrow. ’Getting angry now?’
’When it was dicing me up with Wind Blades just for fun, what did it expect?’
Seraphina Sinclair swung Water Dragon Roar, a flurry of shimmering steel easily deflecting the barrage of Wind Blades.
Because the Storm Dragon’s true rating was S-Class, its attacks were still fundamentally those of an S-Class creature, even if its current power was only at the C-level. As a result, her two life-saving items were rendered useless.
Luckily, Seraphina Sinclair still had her Moonlight Heart Protection Talismans!
Although it took three of the runes to block a single attack, that was enough.
Seraphina Sinclair braced herself against the furious wind, advancing on the Silver Dragon step by step!
Each step felt impossibly heavy, but for someone who had been training in the Wind-carved Fissure, this level of difficulty was practically routine.
Wind Blades rained down on her azure longsword, producing a continuous clang of metal on metal as sparks flew all around her.
Occasionally, a stray Wind Blade would tear through the barrier protecting Seraphina Sinclair, only for it to instantly reform.
The fury in the Storm Dragon’s Dark Gold vertical pupils intensified. To the dragon, the ant’s stubborn resistance and steady advance was the ultimate provocation.
The swirling white currents of air around it suddenly contracted, coalescing in its mouth.
The free-flowing wind no longer scattered to assail its enemy, but slowly gathered into a terrifying, two-meter-wide drill formed from an extreme concentration of Wind Element!
The wind drill spun slowly, its tip emitting a piercing shriek that seemed to warp the very space around it as it locked onto Seraphina Sinclair.
This was a true killing blow, powerful enough to instantly pierce Seraphina Sinclair’s defenses and extinguish her life.
Whether she met it head-on or tried to defend, it seemed Seraphina Sinclair had only one path left: death.
And yet, she suddenly smiled.
’Good thing... it’s a Wind Dragon.’
Seraphina Sinclair suddenly raised a hand. A ball of fire materialized from thin air and shot toward the Storm Dragon’s wounded chest.
All the wind was gathering in the Storm Dragon’s maw. Its body was now completely undefended.
The result was just as Seraphina Sinclair had predicted. The Storm Dragon raised a claw to swat the fireball away. It wouldn’t let any attack get near the old wound on its chest, not even an aftershock.
For an S-Class Great Dragon, shattering a D-level fireball with one’s claw was a trivial matter.
The flame dissipated into harmless sparks, and the Storm Dragon’s claw, following its momentum, came to rest over the old wound on its chest.
The sparks should have vanished into thin air, but a second later, the Storm Dragon’s eyes constricted in shock!
A second fireball burst through the dissipating sparks, hurtling straight for it!
If this fireball had been aimed at the old wound, it would have simply struck the claw guarding it. But this was where Seraphina Sinclair’s genius shone.
The two fireballs, one after the other, followed the same trajectory toward the Storm Dragon but were aimed at two different targets!
The first fireball, aimed at the Silver Dragon’s wound, was bait. She knew the Storm Dragon, busy gathering the storm in its mouth and unable to move, would be forced to block it!
That opening was the exact opportunity Seraphina Sinclair had been waiting for.
The second fireball streaked toward the open dragon’s maw, and the instant it touched the coalescing wind within...
FLASH IGNITION!
The wind energy, compressed to its absolute limit by the Storm Dragon, was thrown into chaos by this foreign spark. It backfired like a venomous serpent, surging into the unprotected depths of the dragon’s throat.
SQUELCH—SIZZLE!
The Storm Dragon’s Dark Gold pupils dilated to their absolute limit, reflecting sheer, unadulterated agony and primal terror.
The terrifyingly powerful wind drill that was about to erupt from its mouth suddenly lost control. It devolved into countless chaotic, razor-sharp currents of air, tearing madly at the inside of its own mouth and throat.
The thing that was hurting the Storm Dragon wasn’t Seraphina Sinclair’s flame, but its own condensed Wind Blades.
’Whoever taught dragons to spit attacks out of their mouths,’ Seraphina Sinclair thought, ’I owe them a thank you!’
The draconic roar dissolved into a hoarse, agonized shriek, mixed with the horrific sound of tearing flesh.
As if unable to bear the excruciating pain, the Storm Dragon’s forelimbs gave way. The entire creature crashed forward like a collapsing mountain.
Its massive head drooped, twitching in agony. The chaotic Wind Blades still raged within its mouth, and a mixture of scalding Dragon Blood and shattered scales spilled from the corners of its jaw.
This was the one chance Seraphina Sinclair had been waiting for!
The Storm Dragon was momentarily incapacitated by the pain, its guard completely down. The fatal old wound was now almost completely exposed, right within her attack range.
Without a moment’s hesitation, without even time to think, she acted on pure instinct—an instinct honed in countless life-or-death struggles. Three streaks of azure light shot from her blade, whistling toward the Storm Dragon’s chest.
This was an opportunity Seraphina Sinclair had to take.
But even in its agony, the Storm Dragon was not defenseless. It was shocked to feel a long-forgotten sense of crisis emanating from a mere insect, but its survival instinct and its Perception of danger still compelled it to react.
