Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 386 - 385: Spear
Chapter 386: Chapter 385: Spear
Seraphina Sinclair was so furious she almost laughed. ’This is far more than just killing intent.’
This arrogant dragon, just as obnoxious as the Gloom Hatchling, was treating her like an insect it could crush at will—a bug whose struggles were utterly laughable.
This humiliation—of being utterly scorned, of having her life in another’s hands—mixed with the frustration of her restricted movement due to Sunflower’s days-long hunger strike, the bitterness that the expensive item from the auction was useless, and the immense pressure of this life-or-death crisis, instantly ignited the deepest-seated defiance and ferocity within Seraphina Sinclair’s very bones!
Reason told her that fear and retreat were the normal reactions when facing the killing intent of an S-Class being.
But in this moment, a more primal, more savage emotion burst through the dam of her reason.
It was the most primal human instinct when faced with absolute oppression: a crazed will to fight, to make the enemy bleed no matter the cost!
The moment her fighting spirit flared, she realized, ’I can’t just take this passively anymore...’
’I have to fight back, break its rhythm.’
’Or at least show it that I’m not completely helpless!’
As her thoughts raced, Seraphina Sinclair parried another Wind Blade. Instead of retreating, she charged directly into the wall of wind.
At some point, the Storm Dragon had already positioned itself directly behind the wind wall.
The instant Seraphina Sinclair appeared, those icy eyes locked onto her once more.
Unlike before, this time, Seraphina Sinclair felt a distinct killing intent.
Instead of feeling fear, the anger already brewing within her sparked a near-frenzied exhilaration!
’Since there’s no retreat and no escape, I’ll face you head-on! I don’t care if you’re the battered shell of an S-Class being or some former sovereign!’
’If you want my life, let’s see what power you have left.’
The fact that Seraphina Sinclair was still alive was, in itself, the greatest irony to the Silver Dragon’s killing intent.
"ROAR!"
The deep draconic roar was the first to wash over her, carrying an immense pressure that sought to directly crush Seraphina Sinclair’s Spirit and will.
Had it been an ordinary person, they would have likely been paralyzed with fear, collapsing to the ground.
But Seraphina Sinclair only swayed slightly, her gaze growing even clearer and sharper!
The effect of Water Stopping, combined with the resilient spiritual power she’d cultivated through days of meditation, allowed her to weather the first wave of the mental assault.
She didn’t even slow her charge. Instead, using her forward momentum, she leaped into the air, clutching Water Dragon Roar with both hands, the blade’s tip aimed straight at the Storm Dragon’s massive body!
Fueled by her surging will to fight, the blade’s azure light flared once more, tearing through the viscous Wind Element before her.
Seraphina Sinclair finally understood why Water Dragon Roar was reacting this way. When she cast aside all caution, resolved to fight to the death with nothing but pure courage and battle intent in her heart, Water Dragon Roar would unleash its full, unreserved sharpness!
But Seraphina Sinclair didn’t use it.
The instant her eyes met the Storm Dragon’s, the five Moon Flame Evil Cleansing Talismans in her Silver Moon Earrings shattered without a sound. Five fireballs, each exuding a terrifying aura, erupted into existence. They tore through the viscous Wind Element environment, howling toward the dragon’s raised head!
This was the most explosive, instantaneous attack Seraphina Sinclair had at her disposal!
But she had no illusions that it could seriously injure the S-Class being before her.
Her goal was singular: to create a diversion!
To interrupt whatever more lethal attack the Storm Dragon might be brewing, and to create an opening to get in close.
For the first time, a clear emotion flickered in the Storm Dragon’s Dark Gold vertical pupils—a mixture of surprise and... indignant rage at being offended.
It seemed to have never imagined that this ant would not only dare to resist but would actively attack its head.
It didn’t even make a large movement, merely tilting its head slightly. At the same time, the seemingly placid yet lethal white air currents swirling around its body erupted into a frenzy!
Several currents shot out like living tentacles to meet the five fireballs. The instant they made contact, the high temperature and Purifying Power of the Moon Flame clashed violently with the highly condensed Wind Element, both sides furiously consuming one another!
"BOOM! BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!"
A continuous series of explosions erupted, sending vortexes of wind and flames scattering everywhere and throwing the entire area into chaos. The shockwaves even briefly tore through the stable wind pressure at the core, creating a chaotic vacuum.
’It worked!’
’At least, it’s distracted!’
This was the very moment Seraphina Sinclair had been waiting for.
Using the light of the explosions and the cover of the chaotic airflow, her figure moved like a phantom, cutting in from the side and below! Water Dragon Roar skimmed along the ground, tracing a sharp arc as its tip aimed for the joint of the Storm Dragon’s relatively slender left foreleg.
Like the rest of its body, this area was covered in a layer of silver scales.
But it was the weakest point Seraphina Sinclair had managed to identify on the Storm Dragon’s body!
But the reaction speed of an S-Class creature—even a heavily injured one like this—was far beyond Seraphina Sinclair’s imagination.
Just as the tip of Water Dragon Roar was about to touch the shimmering silver scales, the Storm Dragon’s seemingly relaxed left foreclaw suddenly pressed down with an agility that defied its massive frame!
Five claws, glinting with a cold light, interlocked with precision, forming an impenetrable silver web that instantly sealed off every possible path for Water Dragon Roar’s attack.
The clash of claw against Blade sent sparks flying with a piercing screech of metal on metal.
An immense force traveled up Water Dragon Roar. Seraphina Sinclair felt her arms shudder violently as the webbing of her hands split open, staining the hilt red with blood.
Her entire body felt as if it had been struck head-on by a battering ram. With a muffled groan, she was sent flying backward uncontrollably.
"THUD!"
She slammed into the ground more than ten meters away, tumbling several times before finally coming to a stop. A sweet taste filled her throat, and she coughed up another mouthful of blood.
Her arms, still clutching Water Dragon Roar, trembled uncontrollably, and she could barely maintain her grip on the sword.
A single, simple block and counterattack had left her severely wounded!
The gap in their strength was an insurmountable chasm.
The Storm Dragon slowly retracted its foreclaw. Its Dark Gold vertical pupils watched the wretched Seraphina Sinclair with cold indifference. There was no triumph in its gaze, only the matter-of-fact apathy of one who had just swatted away a buzzing insect.
But Seraphina Sinclair’s attack had not been entirely fruitless.
She pushed herself up, and from this new angle, she had a clear view of the old wound on the Storm Dragon’s chest.
There, few of its silver-white scales remained. A Short Spear was embedded deep in its flesh, with only a short, black section of the shaft visible.
The Dragon Scales around the wound were a decayed, ashen gray, a stark contrast to the gleaming silver of the others.
Even more strangely, the wound wasn’t bleeding. Instead, wisps of a black, smoke-like substance constantly seeped from it, only to be slowly eroded by the frenzied yet pure Wind Element in the surroundings.
That Short Spear seemed to carry a terrible curse of its own, one that was firmly rooted in the Storm Dragon’s vitals.
’The reason its massive body is intertwined with the source of the ambient Wind Element, creating this endless storm... it’s probably all to combat the power constantly seeping from this wound!’
