Chapter 1451: Chapter 1441: Nonchalant
However, this student is quite dashing, leaving as soon as he decides, directly turning and walking out of the office.
Just as he’s about to step outside, he turns his head and says, "You’re the one who told me to leave, so don’t blame me for not coming back! Also, my surname is Dong!"
Having said that, the student walks out of the principal’s office without looking back. Surname Dong? That surname sounds familiar!
The principal, fearing the student’s father with the surname Dong may be an influential figure, doesn’t want to offend any important person.
The principal considers the situation, can’t help but rub his forehead, and decides to dial the school’s internal line to call the head teacher to the office.
Principal, what can I do for you this time? The head teacher’s tone is a bit cross because of the previous disagreement with the principal over Jiang Cheng.
The principal has to patiently ask, "A student just said he came to report; what’s the situation? Aren’t we no longer accepting transfer students?" The head teacher, hearing the principal, starts to become serious. He thinks for a moment and slowly says, "Oh, it might be Dong family’s son!
That’s right, I scolded him just now. When he was leaving, he did say his surname is Dong! But who is his father?" The principal hurriedly continues to inquire.
That’s it, he’s the son of Dong Army, the largest investor among the school board! Remember? The school’s swimming pool and library were donated by him.
What? The son of school board leader Dong Army!
The principal feels he might have gotten into big trouble, but the head teacher seems to react even faster.
What? Who did you scold? Principal, don’t tell me you actually scolded Dong Army’s son? The head teacher is shocked, wide-eyed and jaw-dropped, by what the principal just said.
The principal has to explain, "How was I supposed to know that the student who looked like a non-mainstream was Dong Army’s son?"
The head teacher is at a loss too, so he can only ask the principal to mobilize everyone to find Dong Army’s son.
Only after two hours of searching do they find Dong Ran playing with an iPad Mini 4 beside the playground.
Little did they know that Dong Ran’s father, Dong Army, arrived at the school almost simultaneously.
In the principal’s office, Dong Army finds the principal and his son Dong Ran, and sternly asks, "What’s going on here?"
Dong Ran casually says, "It’s this old man who told me to leave; why should I stay here shamelessly?"
"You’re saying the principal told you to leave?" Dong Army, upon hearing his son was kicked out of the principal’s office, starts to feel unsettled.
The principal quickly says, "I’m sorry, Mr. Dong! I truly apologize for this, I didn’t know this child was your son at the time!"
Dong Army, seeing the principal’s good attitude and considering this as the best school in the district, decides not to pursue the matter further.
Who would’ve thought his son Dong Ran was not ready to let it go. "I’m not going to class here!" Dong Ran shouted.
Dong Army, well aware of his son’s personality, naturally knows how to ’tame’ Dong Ran, and says calmly, "Do well in class, and I’ll buy you the latest limited edition soccer shoes!"
"Hmph!" Dong Ran clearly doesn’t want to comply.
Dong Army pauses and then says, "Plus a set of limited edition team jerseys!"
No problem, it’s a deal!" Dong Ran, seeing he’s getting what he wants, relents.
Dong Army, seeing this, also breathes a sigh of relief and, after advising Dong Ran to attend classes diligently, hurries back to the company for a meeting.
Principal, which class should Dong Ran be placed in?" The head teacher asks. The principal obviously has no idea where to place such a privileged student and looks helplessly at the head teacher.
"How about placing him in Jiang Cheng’s class?" The head teacher suggests.
Ha, Jiang Cheng, you dare provoke me? I’ll toss you a hot potato now! No, he can’t be placed in Jiang Cheng’s class." The principal immediately objects.
"Knock knock knock," a knocking sound interrupts the principal and head teacher’s conversation.
Principal, I’ll take this student!" Jiang Cheng’s voice, as magnetic as Chen Zhong’s, rings out.
Jiang Cheng, passing by the principal’s office, overheard the head teacher’s suggestion to the principal, and he himself wants to challenge a different student, so he takes the initiative to volunteer.
Alright, then Dong Ran is yours, take him back with you." The principal replies immediately.
Since Jiang Cheng has volunteered, the principal naturally has no reason to refuse.
In the first class, something the principal couldn’t have predicted happens. "Class, stand up!" Jiang Cheng says at the podium.
However, while the whole class stands up, only Dong Ran remains seated. Jiang Cheng can’t help but ask, "New student, why aren’t you standing? Are you feeling ill?"
"I’m not physically ill, I’m emotionally ill! Why should I stand and bow to you? Who do you think you are?" Dong Ran defiantly says.
Jiang Cheng isn’t planning to be cautious about Dong Ran’s father being on the school board, and he shouts back, "I’m your teacher, and you should give me due respect!"
"Ha ha ha, what do you have to be respected for? Aren’t you just a salaried worker serving students, a dog the school keeps?" Dong Ran challenging says.
Hearing Dong Ran’s insulting words, Jiang Cheng couldn’t help but slam the table and says, "What? If you’re inferior to me then you should listen to me!"
Dong Ran doesn’t give in and says, "Where do you get the confidence to think I’m inferior to you? You might not be superior to me! Isn’t that right, classmates?"
The classroom buzzes with lively chatter, eager to watch the drama of student challenging teacher.
Some even go so far as to whistle confidently. "Then let’s settle this like kids do, with a fair match. You first or me first?" Jiang Cheng says, not angry, but smiling.
With that, Dong Ran charges straight at Jiang Cheng, only to be elegantly flipped by Jiang Cheng.
Dong Ran, genuinely impressed, says to Jiang Cheng, "From now on, you’re my big brother!"
Without saying a word, Jiang Cheng simply knocks his head against Dong Ran’s fist, acknowledging him as his little brother.
Thus, the first class’s turmoil finally calmed down. In the second class, Dong Ran has a conflict with the language teacher again. "You must write the wrongly memorized verses a hundred times!" the language teacher sternly tells Dong Ran.
"Why should I listen to you? If I can’t, I won’t. I don’t want to learn!" Dong Ran replies.
In this way, the language teacher and Dong Ran start confronting each other in front of the entire class, neither backing down.
Jiang Cheng hears of this and can only rush back to the classroom, asking, "What’s going on?" After the language teacher explains the situation, Jiang Cheng can only call Dong Ran back to his office.
"Tell me, why such resistance towards language class?" Jiang Cheng asks as he looks at Dong Ran.
"Big brother, I just don’t like it!" Dong Ran replies.
Then he sits himself down on a chair without waiting for Jiang Cheng’s permission.
"Like or dislike, there’s always a reason. Honestly tell me why you dislike language class, no matter what you say, I won’t blame you!" Jiang Cheng smiles, persuading Dong Ran.
Dong Ran dismissively pouts, not planning to say anything. Jiang Cheng can only continue, "Is puckering your lips inherited? It’s ugly!" Hearing this, Dong Ran can’t help but roll his eyes and says, "Where’s the ugliness? In this world, who can be more handsome than me with puckered lips?"
Seeing that he finally eased the awkward yet slightly tense atmosphere between them, Jiang Cheng’s lips curl up just a little.
"Since you call me big brother, just tell me what’s really going on!" Jiang Cheng says, patting Dong Ran’s head.
"I.. I..." Dong Ran suddenly seems at a loss for words.
"It’s alright, go ahead and say. No matter what secret, big brother’s listening! Don’t worry, your big brother won’t mind you!" Jiang Cheng comforts Dong Ran.
This child probably still has hidden troubles, else how would the usually straightforward Dong Ran suddenly become so delicate?
"It’s not that I dislike language class..." Dong Ran explains. Jiang Cheng, hearing this, can’t help but be puzzled, asking, "Then why did you start a fight with the language teacher? Her request wasn’t unreasonable!"
"Big brother, actually, I don’t dislike language class, nor did I want to deliberately fight with the language teacher. I just wanted to get my parents’ attention!" Dong Ran slowly explains.
Jiang Cheng hears Dong Ran’s explanation, frowning, asking, "Did something happen with your parents? Why do you want to deliberately seek their attention?"
