STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 1108: Part 1: The Screening Begins
Special Base (4th Zone)
Rosalie Rose swept her gaze across the elders here. She saw through their strength right away.
The eight full-body-armored Beast Tamers stood behind her. Their presence itself made a statement that they were from the top three zones.
But the elders didn’t have a clue which zone they were actually from. Elder Sandra greeted her, saying, "Esteemed Lord, welcome to our special base. My name is Sandra. I’m the head of the base here."
Hearing that, Rosalie smiled, stepped forward, and said, "I’m Rosalie Rose, one of the Elders from the Beast Taming Association based in the 3rd Zone. The beast tamers behind me are all official members. They are here to help me out."
Gasp!
A few elders gasped right away. They had thought the representative could be from any of the top three zones, but they didn’t expect someone from the 3rd Zone.
They had many doubts in their minds right now. Elder Sandra too had a couple of doubts, but she decided to take them to the meeting hall first.
"Lord, come with me. I will take you to the meeting hall," Sandra said.
Rosalie nodded her head. Then, she instructed the members to follow behind her.
Everyone headed toward the meeting hall. On the way, they came across base members going about their business. The appearance of the full-body-armored Beast Tamers took their breath away.
The members stood rooted to the spot and watched them walk toward the meeting hall. They saw the elders trailing behind them, while Elder Sandra led the group.
She was talking enthusiastically to the woman dressed in the combat uniform.
They guessed that she must be the most important person. The members quickly shared the news with their friends. They knew that today was the day the forces from the top three zones would arrive for recruitment.
They had heard that representatives from the Beast Taming Association were coming, and they guessed the combat-dressed female Beast Tamer was likely the representative.
...
Room
Jeremy Night had just finished his morning routine. He was resting on the sofa.
Buzz!
All of a sudden, his device buzzed. He opened his eyes, turned toward the device, and picked it up. He saw many unread messages.
He began to read them one by one, raising his eyebrows in surprise.
[What happened?] Stella asked.
She sensed Jeremy Night’s excited mood.
Hearing that, Jeremy collected his thoughts and said, "A representative from the Beast Taming Association has arrived with members."
[That’s good news. Can you enter the top three zones?]
He heard her question, his eyes gleaming with a twinkle.
"I don’t know for sure, but if there is an opportunity, I won’t miss it. We can only wait to see what they are planning," he replied.
His drowsiness was gone now. He leaned back against the sofa and began to reflect.
...
Meeting Hall
Rosalie Rose sat in the main seat. The eight members took their respective seats. They were still wearing their full-body armor but had removed their helmets, making their faces visible.
The eight beast tamers were young and middle-aged; none of them were old. Seeing their exposed faces, the elders present were taken aback.
Elder Sandra and the others sat in their chairs as well. It was time to discuss matters, but Elder Sandra hesitated to initiate the conversation.
Rosalie Rose saw through their thoughts.
She smiled and said, "I know you all have a lot of doubts. Let me explain."
"At first, the Beast Taming Associations in the top three zones decided to send representatives to this special base together. However, we couldn’t agree on a time since everyone is busy with their duties."
"In the end, we decided to act separately. I have come on behalf of the Beast Taming Association located in the 3rd Zone. Others might come during their free time, so don’t worry. No one will disobey the orders of the Human Alliance," Rosalie explained in detail.
Sigh!
Hearing that, the elders all breathed a collective sigh of relief.
Elder Sandra smiled and said, "It would be an honor for our students to enter the 3rd Zone."
The other elders echoed her sentiments one after another.
Rosalie smiled, and the expressions of the eight Beast Tamers softened as well. The Tier-3 Zone was by no means weaker than the top two zones. Seeing that the elders held a neutral, respectful attitude, they felt much better.
She then said, "Let’s discuss the recruitment. I plan to select Tier-7 Beast Tamers with S-Grade Talent first. If you have the list prepared, please hand it over."
Elder Sandra nodded before retrieving a large-screen device and handing it over to her.
Rosalie took the device and began browsing through it. The other elders weren’t surprised by the criteria; it was natural to prioritize S-grade talents, as they were in high demand everywhere.
As Rosalie scanned the list, she thought of something and added, "If you have more devices, give them to my members."
Hearing that, Elder Sandra nodded and signaled her staff. Eight additional devices were promptly handed to the armored Beast Tamers. These armored Beast Tamers were all Tier-8 combatants.
Every one of them was stronger than the local elders, capable of leading an entire Beast Taming Organization in the 4th Zone, and commanded immense respect.
The armored Beast Tamers received the devices and began reviewing the roster as well. The three armored female Beast Tamers showed a particular interest in selecting female candidates.
Rosalie came across several interesting profiles. Naturally, she could not recruit everyone; other organizations from the top three zones had quotas as well. Their Beast Taming Association had only been allocated 15 slots.
She could only choose 15 from the entire list. Furthermore, she faced role restrictions: she could not simply pick only high-offense assault tamers. She had to assemble a balanced team, incorporating defense, support, and healers.
Finding the ideal beast combination would take time. If necessary, she was even open to considering A-Grade Talents.
Nor was it strictly required to select solely from the 3rd-year group; if suitable, they could recruit 2nd-year students who were already Tier-6 Beast Tamers.
With multiple options available, the eight members combed through the files carefully, paying keen attention to each candidate’s innate talent and bonded lifeline beasts.
On the other side of the room, the elders watched with bated breath, uncertain of the outcome. Each had their own favored disciples, quietly hoping their students would be selected first.
