Chapter 2122: Only Me in the Chaos (IV)

  • Next Chapter

“There’s no rush.” Li Hao smiled peacefully. “We can wait until Senior Skyward descends in person to discuss anything. So many have died in the prior conflict that it lessens some of the pressure on the chaos.

“Although I’ve absorbed a lot of the spirit, much of it has dissipated through the environment as well. That will be beneficial for the return of the ninth ranks too! I hope that all of the seniors can safely and smoothly descend back upon the chaos...”

Skyward’s replica disappeared without further word.

Although they were free to kill the young man since he now lacked the power of time, it wasn’t a convenient time to do so. While they all hated him for causing so many deaths in the previous clash, the most pressing issue at hand was to locate that new chaos!

“Damn, that feels nice!” Li Hao heaved a sigh of relief and grinned. “These guys finally don’t have their eyes on me anymore!”

“I pity the kid from the future,” cackled the Human King. “He’ll probably be mobbed as soon as he sets a toe outside. You really... suck! Hah!”

“You can’t put it that way.” Li Hao shrugged. “Senior Human King tossed time to me first and only left behind a world that didn’t even count as a minor world. So me giving it to him... is not a matter of whether or not he gained something.

“Let’s say he did, I also left behind such a huge foundation. His starting point is a hundred times better than mine. If he’s still dissatisfied by that... where should I go to air my grievances? He can come to me, who can I go to?”

Li Hao smirked at the Human King. I suck?

Not at all!

What did New Martial leave behind for Silver Moon? Energy that didn’t fill a minor world and... nothing else?

And me?

How much have I left behind for that one?

Give how many have died this time and how many powerhouses were killed, I’m such a good-hearted fellow compared to the Human King! I’m a true wandering hero who loves helping people!

The young man felt that there was nothing wrong with pinning the label of hero to himself in the last conflict. The enemies were just a bit different from the usual. Back then, he’d faced weaklings who were unaware of the full situation. This time, the entire chaos had been paying attention, in particular a crowd of ninth ranks!

This was not within Li Hao’s consideration.

“There are still a lot of ninth ranks left.” Li Hao looked upward with a smile. “But Chaos Sky is probably the only one who can pose a threat in the entire universe at the moment...”

Spring Autumn didn’t make a sound while she stood behind Li Hao. I’m not on the same team as you, but there’s also no need for open hostilities between us right this very moment.

“We’ve all had some gains in the last encounter, so let’s digest them on our own. We can make good use of this interval in which they’ve gone off running. Let’s take a break for a few days or a few decades. We can see when chaos dao finally quiets down!”

So long as the chaos dao continued to ripple with upheaval, that would prevent the ninth ranks from causing trouble in the short run.

“Senior Sun God, rest well and don’t go running anywhere else.” Li Hao smiled at the Sun God.

The man in question started. What was... Li Hao smiling so mysteriously for?

“Do you mean...” An idea occurred to the Sun God.

“I’m not sure, but some of your memories might not be that clear at the moment.” Li Hao’s smile widened. “They might sharpen into clarity after this break!”

With that, the young man turned to leave. “Today I, Li Hao, am free... Time has been the bane of many people’s existences and has ended with the third generation. I hope that there will no longer be a dao of time after this!”

“That remains to be seen.” A light flashed through the Human King’s eyes. “The third gen needs to be heartless enough to do so!”

“Who knows?” Li Hao grinned broadly. “C’mon, let’s go. To each their own for some rest and recovery before we play with the ninth ranks again...”

His laughter was hearty and lacked the tone of madness it contained before. The Human King joined in with his own chuckling after watching Li Hao for a while.

“True nature is hard to change, don’t blame the great dao for everything. Kid... you’re never settling down!”

“That’s right,” sighed the supreme next to him. “True nature is hard to change so... it’s not like you can be peaceful and stable either!”

“......” The Human King almost started cursing. What are you focusing on me for??

He couldn’t be bothered to dignify the jab with a response and leered in another direction. “I don’t care how strong Li Hao is right now. I just care about how many people will mob the kid from the future when he makes it out into the chaos, and if he’ll demand a reckoning from Li Hao!”

Are you that bored to be throwing these kinds of comments around? The supreme suppressed an eye roll.

“Ole Zhang, did you leave anything inside when you came out?” Fang Ping suddenly turned back with a knowing smile on his lips.

“How would I ever??” Supreme Zhang did frown this time and shook his head.

“Drop the act,” cackled the Human King. “My memories returned when I died and I saw you... Did you carve your dao of replicas into that chaos?”

“......” The supreme didn’t respond. Why would I do that??

“Now you’re the real black-hearted one,” the Human King sighed with emotion. “That dao of yours is such a trap, who are you going to doom with it? Experiment just on yourself if you want to do that, why drag other people in too...”

“It’s nothing like that,” coughed the supreme. “I was killed in a normal fashion and carved some dao rules into that chaos in an equally normal fashion. You’re thinking too much!”

The Human King snorted!

“Li Hao doesn’t have the dao of time, river of dao, supernatural characters, or anything else anyone,” the Sun God suddenly said. “He just has his physical body now, so what level is his strength?”

The Human King flicked a glance at him and grinned. “I don’t have time, supernatural characters, or a river of dao either. Wanna guess what level my strength is?”

The Sun God blinked.

“That twerp refuses to cultivate even the inner world,” sniffed Fang Ping. “I think that lunatic... really wants to place himself at the center of a myriad daos. No, he will be the one and only in the entire chaos!”

The one and only of the entire chaos?

The Sun God raised an eyebrow, whereas the supreme nodded thoughtfully after a while. He didn’t say anything else.

So he’s going to cultivate only himself and no other external dao? That... may not be an easy path to walk. Can Li Hao really make it to the peak after giving up all that?

It was hard for Supreme Zhang to come to a conclusion. It’d taken a tremendous amount of willpower to give up what he had. Li Hao already surpassed an untold number of people from that action alone.

Zhang Tao and Fang Ping had not dared accept time back in the day because they hadn’t been confident that they would be able to give it up at an appropriate time. Granted, it was hard to say definitively either way.

Thus far, the only one who showed evidence of having accepted time and later freely relinquishing it was Li Hao.

......

The war of the new chaos came to an end with the departure of two powerhouses in hot pursuit of it. Casualties were enormous and the western region had outright collapsed from it.

Almost all of Chaos Sky’s formidable cultivators had been wiped out. Only a few seventh ranks were left because they hadn’t been part of battle. They’d been left behind as defense on Chaos Sky major world.

Disorder had fallen in battle. Long Zhan had died with a host of chaos beast powerhouses. The ancient existences that were hidden ninth rank subordinates had all died as well.

The chaos grew quiet after such a battle. No one was left. It was almost empty.

At the very least, half of the heavyweights had died. And now, Five Elements of the northern region were done, Long Zhan of the four regions were gone, Spring Autumn hadn’t lost much, but the battles had instilled some self-doubt in her.

Can I really overcome these guys?

They’re either incredibly insidious or utterly crazy. Or they have a ton of aces up their sleeves. I’m not weak, but who can I beat in a battlefield like this?

Li Hao is the youngest, but he scares me the most.

Indeed, the cicada dreaded the young man. Even though he had given up everything, that feeling remained. That was because... he’d easily destroyed Mountain Breaker’s body right in front of her. She hadn’t had time to stop him.

That was incredible!

......

The Ninth City of the alliance of mid worlds.

This had almost become Li Hao and Silver Moon’s headquarters. However, there were many looking at it with mixed emotions at the moment because the once prosperous Allheaven Hall had disappeared.

The passages of time could not be maintained after Li Hao relinquished the dao of time. Some secret realms still existed, but they could no longer be connected to each other. And so, the bustling and lively Allheaven Hall collapsed.

All of them felt regret and sadness.

Many exalted emperors had been extremely grateful to Li Hao for creating Allheaven Hall. But after war broke out and the young man relinquished everything, that spelled the end of the marvelous construction.

And now, those exalted emperors didn’t dare venture out anymore...

The chaos was suddenly very, very quiet.

More than half of the powerhouses were dead, the weaklings didn’t dare leave their worlds, and the locale where they’d exchanged dao was gone.

The chaos was suddenly a pool of stagnant water.

“Ai!” A sigh reverberated when Myriad Changes returned home.

He’d learned a great deal thanks to the establishment of Allheaven Hall and entered eighth rank as a result. The man had followed Li Hao in numerous battles and even incorporated his spirit into the new chaos. He’d played the part of a primordial demon god for a while.

But after returning to the Ninth City and seeing the collapsed passageways, Myriad Changes felt an ache in his heart. There was only a mirage realm left now...

There was an emptiness within him.

Everything was gone.

Everything was all gone!

Granted, they were much better off compared to the northern and western regions. Those two had nearly been wiped clean and all of their high ranks eradicated.

The eastern region... fine. Apart from the eighth ranks that were with New Martial and Silver Moon, almost all of the eighth ranks in the east had been killed as well.
