Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts
Chapter 372 - 370: Living Ore?
"Are they still on your friends list?"
Ethan Yardley checked his list and replied in surprise, "Uncle Gregory is still on my list, but the others are gone. Have they landed on an island? Mr. Jonas’s or Logan Langdon’s?"
’Looks like my brother understands my attitude toward the rest of the Yardley Family perfectly. He ruled out my island right away.’
"I don’t know. Why don’t you ask Mr. Jonas? Anyway, we’re the only three in Veridia with islands, so it’s a process of elimination. I just happened to see Felicity say that landing on Logan Langdon’s island would be better and more convenient."
"Then they’re most likely on Logan Langdon’s island. Tsk... That Logan Langdon... Never mind. Just stay away from him from now on. He’s too much of a schemer."
"Yeah, I know."
"You haven’t been up to anything lately, have you?"
Faye Yardley shook her head. "Nope. What could I possibly be up to? Why, does your guild have an event going on? Count me in?"
Ethan Yardley shook his head. "We’re in a rare safe period, so we have to fish for as many treasure chests as possible. Everyone is focused on that right now. We’ve put everything else on hold, aside from our daily training."
"Fine, fine. You guys are no fun at all." Faye Yardley added, "All right, but if you fish up any Silver Treasure Chests, you have to let me know. I’ll come open them for you."
"What about Iron Treasure Boxes? We can save those for you."
"Not interested."
Ethan Yardley: ...
’My sister’s Luck Value is high, but if she doesn’t feel like doing something, no one can force her.’
They exchanged a few more pleasantries before hanging up.
Faye Yardley grumbled to herself. It should have been a perfectly relaxing day, but she felt a restlessness deep in her bones, as if every cell in her body was screaming, making it impossible for her to sit still.
’That’s it. I’m really losing my mind.’
’I can no longer enjoy the simple pleasure of idling away my time.’
She took a watermelon from her storage, split it in half with one clean slice, and gave one half to Lucy White, who had just come in. She started scooping out the other half with a spoon for herself.
"Sister, this is so yummy!"
"If you like it, eat it all up."
Lucy White buried her face in the watermelon and devoured it. She quickly finished her half and let out a satisfied burp.
"Go wash your face."
"Okay."
After obediently washing her face, Lucy White returned and said to Faye Yardley, "Sister, after you went onto the island earlier, Kingston and I secretly went ashore too."
"Hm? Did you guys find any good stuff?"
’Faye Yardley hadn’t required them to stay on the raft or to follow her, so she had no idea they had snuck onto the island as well.’
Lucy White pulled two misty-blue mineral stones from inside her clothes and handed them over. "These stones are weird. I tucked them in my shirt, and it felt like two hearts were beating against my stomach, THUMP-THUMP. And they’re icy-cold. They’d probably feel even nicer tucked in there when it’s hot out."
Faye Yardley took them and held them up to the light for a closer look. A faint gray shadow seemed to be flowing inside, but she couldn’t be sure.
She put them in her storage as well.
"You guys snuck into the mining area?"
Lucy White’s eyes curved into crescents as she smiled. "I didn’t go, but Kingston did. He blended into the shadows, so no one saw him."
"Alright, as long as no one saw him, it’s fine."
"Those people are so unhygienic. Their tent area was really smelly. I don’t get why they don’t just wash up in the ocean, especially since they’re so close to the beach. But the weird thing is, there are perfectly good houses on that island, but they’re all living in tents. Sister, why aren’t they living in the nice houses?"
’Looks like they explored a different part of the island than I did.’
Faye Yardley shrugged. "Maybe there aren’t enough houses to go around. Was there no one near the nice houses?"
"There were, but not many." Lucy White then added indignantly, "I also heard some people there talking about you, Sister, and they weren’t saying anything nice. So Kingston had their shadows teach them a lesson."
Faye Yardley: ...
’Looks like I don’t even need my brother to ask. I can already confirm that Gregory Yardley and the others are on Logan Langdon’s island. And by the sound of it, Logan is treating them quite well.’
’As for what Logan was plotting, Faye couldn’t be bothered to figure it out. In any case, no matter what he tried, he’d never be able to use them to get a single thing from her.’
"Sister, are we going exploring and treasure hunting again tomorrow?"
Faye Yardley took a bite of watermelon and looked at Lucy White’s expectant face. She couldn’t help but feel tempted.
’My luck is this good... the system wouldn’t possibly make me land on Logan Langdon’s island again, would it?’
’I still have three Ordinary Island Entry Orders in my storage. Should I use another one?’
’Or should I just combine all three into one before using it?’
BEEP BEEP BEEP~
Just as the radar went off, she heard the sound of an engine.
The flashy train suddenly appeared beside her raft again. "Hey, your delivery’s here! Hurry and come get it."
’So soon this time?!’
