Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead

Chapter 152 - 151: Best Friends Contract

  • Next Chapter

Eleanore wakes up the next day with another memory related to Flora. It was when they had gone to some park to play and had fallen into a great trouble. Eleanore fell into the lake nearby and Flora didn’t think twice before jumping in it herself to save her best friend.

In the end, she and the two started to sink into the depths of the ocean, only to be saved by one of the knights that had followed them here. When they both were back on the ground, they held each other’s hand and fell on the grass bed, laughing as if all of that was a joke.

Marina, slided the curtain, to let the sun fill the room with its mesmerizing lights. However, Eleanore was still too lazy to wake up, she wanted to regain more of her memories related to flora but no matter how much more she slept, no more memories flooded in.

"Madam, it’s time to wake up." Marina says, pulling the blanket off her.

"Marina." She sits upright. "Did you clean my room yesterday?" She asked.

"Yes, Madam." She folded the blanket carefully, only to throw it into the basket for laundry.

Eleanore sighed, as she scratched her head. "Why would you do that? Now, I’ll have to go through all that again." She feels lazy from just saying those words.

Marina chuckles on that. "Well, I have kept the things we are yet to search aside." Her words lighten up Eleanore’s tired face.

"Really?"

"Yes, once you are done bathing. I will help you look through it again." Eleanore quickly gets down from her huge bed and rushes to the bathroom.

"Come fast, Marina." She says, as she starts undressing herself.

It was again a hassle to look through the remaining stuff, that almost felt equal to once she had looked through yesterday. The old toys, clothes, jewellery, along with some new ones, were all annoying. Eleanore even wanted to throw a few things away but feared that they might be connected to her past in some way.

"Madam." Marina jumped through the things scattered on the floor to get to Eleanore. "Is this it?" She raised forward.

Curious, Eleanore snatched that folded paper out of her hand and gently opened it up.

Eleanore read it and as if all her memory was refreshed, her memories related to Flora and her feelings for her best friend returned flooding into her heart.

These feelings were nothing compared to the ones she had for Stella. They were so much more superior and deeper. The kind she had never felt. She had never had a friend so close, whom she loved so deeply.

Eleanore got up. "I need to talk to Caelestis." She says, rushing out of the room, leaving Marina in a complete confusion on whether that paper was the thing her mistress was looking for or not.

As she rushed through the corridor, she wondered that if she told Flora about the things that happened to her in those accused two years, would that save their friendship? She was very clear that all she wanted to know is what happened in that fraction of time, when Eleanore ignored her.

Maybe that would satisfy her, and she would stop hanging out with that witch Adena.

Eleanore’s feet stopped. "What if she had helped Adena in trapping me in that room? What if she knew that Eleanore was going to be trapped in that void? About the black magic and everything?"

She was already outside Caelestis’ study, when she was figuring out all of that. However, she remembered how shocked even Flora looked when that wine fell on her dress. Doesn’t that mean that she is not involved.

Eleanore threw aside all her thoughts and opened the door. On seeing her enter the room, Caelestis immediately got out of his chair and walked to her.

"What’s wrong?" He caught her arms. "Did you run all the way here?" He asked.

Eleanore didn’t answer but it was written all over her face. So, he simply returned back to his desk and poured some water in the glass, then gave it to her.

She gulped up all the water and then Caelestis helped her sleep on the couch she used to sleep in when she first came here.

"Feeling better?" He asks.

"Yeah." She sighs. "Anyways, I am here to ask you something."

"Before that." He pulled out a letter from his pocket, one that he had slid into the pocket only seconds ago. "Here. I was going to come to you, but oh well. It’s a good thing you appeared yourself."

Eleanore, set aside the old paper and opened the letter Caelestis had given her. It was a letter from her brother asking just one question. How is Eleanore?

She immediately folded the letter back in its original shape and turned her gaze to him. "Why are you giving me this?" She asks.

"I want to let you know that there is still hope. Your brother still cares about you." He says in a voice filled with excitement.

Eleanore rolled her eyes and returned the letter back to him. "He is just trying to find out if I am alive. So that he could be present on my death—"

A finger lands on her lips and stops her from uttering those hateful words. "Why would you say that?" He asks and Eleanore turns silent.

She was stunned by that sudden heat that passed through her cold lips from his single finger. And that concerning question, as if he cards for her a lot.

"Didn’t I tell you we’ll grow old together?" He removes his finger from her lips, but his sensation remains.
