Chapter 88: Chapter 44: A Great Acting Competition, Shion’s Final Move! (Part 2)

Alex had been the best friend of his late older brother, Aiolos.

Whenever Aiolia saw Alex on a normal day, he would respectfully call him "Brother Alex," and Alex had always taken good care of him in return.

He was actually quite reluctant in his heart when the Pope ordered him to attack.

But having been called out by name in front of everyone, he was left with no choice but to helplessly step forward.

Seeing Aldebaran’s flashy but completely bloodless attack just now, Aiolia instantly understood!

’So that’s how it is!’

Brimming with confidence, he took a few steps forward and instantly ignited his Cosmo. Behind him, the phantom of a majestic golden lion roared silently at the sky!

"Take this, Alex! Lightning Plasma!"

Countless golden lightning fist shadows shot from his right hand. At a frequency of tens of millions of strikes per second, they densely covered the entire space, yet they precisely avoided Alex’s body, all crashing squarely into the newly condensed ice wall in front of him instead.

Alex’s mouth twitched slightly...

Crash!

Ice shards scattered across the floor. Aiolia let out a long breath of relief.

’Thank goodness, the force was just right. It broke the ice wall but didn’t even touch Alex.’

Scorpio Milo, standing on the side, had his mouth skewed in anger, almost losing control of his facial expression.

’Fine, fine! So this is how all of you are playing it, huh!’

He didn’t even bother shouting the name of his technique. His figure appeared behind Alex like a ghost, and fifteen Scarlet Needles condensed at his fingertips, thrusting toward Alex’s back.

Alex turned his head slightly, glancing at Milo out of the corner of his eye.

The Aquarius mental attack—the Death Stare!

Milo instantly felt as if he had plunged into an ice cellar. His fingertips trembled slightly as he gritted his teeth and launched the Scarlet Needles anyway.

Alex gave a cold snort, remaining perfectly still.

If Scorpio Milo dared to actually hurt him, well, excuse me, but the exact moment things wrapped up here would be the exact moment Milo’s torment began.

Over the years, Alex had always been this domineering in the Sanctuary. Anyone who dared to provoke him was guaranteed to suffer a hundredfold in retaliation!

Exactly as Alex expected, clink, clink, clink—these attacks, without a single exception, all landed squarely on the Gold Cloth, failing to cause even the slightest harm to his body.

Even the surface of the Aquarius Cloth didn’t suffer a single scratch, remaining as brilliantly bright as new.

Milo retreated to stand beside the other two, wiping a bead of sweat as he shouted,

"He actually blocked all of my attacks!"

Aldebaran and Aiolia couldn’t help but look at Milo with newfound respect.

Everyone present was a Gold Saint, and even the old Pope Shion was the previous generation’s Aries Saint. Who couldn’t see exactly what was going on?

Everyone collectively despised Milo in their hearts.

Coward!

Having each launched a single attack, the three Gold Saints closed their eyes to rest, utterly refusing to launch any further strikes.

Shion sat on the Pope’s throne, his withered hands gripping the armrests so tightly his knuckles turned white. Even the golden mask could not conceal his fury.

Over the years, he had deliberately delegated power to Alex, originally intending to groom him into a qualified Pope.

He hadn’t expected that Alex’s prestige among the Gold Saints had long since subtly surpassed his own.

The many Gold Saints were outwardly complying with his orders while secretly resisting. On the surface, they attacked, but in reality, they didn’t harm a single hair on Alex’s head.

Shion’s gaze swept across the great hall. Among the many Gold Saints, apart from Shaka who kept his eyes perpetually closed, everyone else subconsciously averted their gazes, avoiding eye contact with him.

He instantly realized that counting on these Gold Saints to capture Alex today was already an impossible task.

At this point, Shion had only one final move left!
