Chapter 55: Chapter 28: Saga’s Fury, The Hydra! (Part 1)

Alex’s expression remained completely unbothered.

"Oh? Then tell me, what kind of people are we?"

Saga clenched his fists and slowly raised his head. In that instant, his hair color turned pitch-black.

"The kind of people who refuse to be manipulated by fate!"

Alex closed his eyes, noncommittal. A moment later, he gave a faint smile. His gaze swept across the frozen marshland as he said flatly,

"You didn’t ask me to come here just to spout this nonsense, did you..."

Saga let out a cold snort and looked deep into the marsh. Beneath the snow-covered earth, human skeletons could faintly be seen.

"After leaving the Sanctuary, I’ve been training nearby. This place was originally a village. I traded hunted game with the villagers for daily necessities. But the night before last, this area suddenly transformed into a marshland filled with toxic gas, and all the villagers were reduced to bones..."

Alex cut Saga off.

"My time is limited. Get to the point."

Saga furrowed his dark brows and scoffed.

"This scene reminds me of an ancient monster..."

"The Nine-Headed Serpent, Hydra?"

Alex was slightly taken aback. This name exploded in his memory like a clap of thunder.

As a Gold Saint, he had seen detailed records of it in the ancient texts of the Sanctuary.

The Hydra was the vile spawn of the Father of All Monsters, the hundred-headed dragon Typhon, and the half-woman, half-serpent Echidna. Its nine heads could spew toxic mist, and wherever it passed, fertile lands were reduced to plague-ridden swamps, leaving no humans or livestock alive.

Then, he shook his head.

"Impossible. Wasn’t the Hydra completely suppressed in ancient times when Hercules chopped off its nine heads?"

"I had hoped it was just a legend as well," Saga’s black hair fell loosely over his shoulders, his tone carrying suppressed anger. "But I saw it with my own eyes yesterday. It burst from the marsh and attacked the Saints patrolling this area. The intensity of its toxic gas was so strong that even I couldn’t completely ward it off. I wanted to kill it, but it managed to escape deep into the swamp..."

The corners of Alex’s mouth curled up slightly.

"So, you thought of me?"

Saga clenched his fists and looked at Alex.

"Your domain of Absolute Zero is still fresh in my memory. The power of Aquarius should be the perfect counter to this monster..."

A thought crossed Alex’s mind. If he played his cards right with Saga’s sudden appearance, it might just provide him with a lifeline in the impending predicament.

He slowly walked toward the fully frozen marsh. His boots crushed against the ice, emitting a crisp, cracking sound.

"I can help you." Alex turned around, a frosty aura flashing through his eyes. "But what’s in it for me?"

Saga snorted coldly.

"In return, I will agree to one request from you in the future, as long as it is within my power."

Alex gave a faint smile.

"Excellent. I hope you won’t go back on your word. Now, let’s see exactly what kind of background this monster has."

"Wait a moment!"

Igniting his Cosmo with a low shout, the constellation chart of Gemini swirled behind Saga in the driving snow. The Gemini Cloth tore through the sky, autonomously equipping itself onto his body.

Every Cloth can only have one owner. Only when the owner dies, or voluntarily relinquishes ownership of the Cloth, will it respond to the call of another Cosmo.

Of course, the twin companion stars of Gemini were a special exception; the Cloth could be summoned by two Saints simultaneously.
