Chapter 54: Chapter 27: Saga Appears, We Are the Same Kind of People! (Part 2)
"Saga... why is he revealing himself at a time like this...?"
Alex shook his head. Because of his arrival, the trajectory of the Saint Seiya world was gradually veering into the unknown...
But this was exactly what he wanted. Only by disrupting history could he possibly break free from Athena’s control.
Shion leaned back into his throne, his voice laced with exhaustion.
"You should go personally, Alex. If it truly is Saga, sending anyone else would be an exercise in futility..."
In the past, Saga was known as the incarnation of a god, hailed as the strongest among this generation of Gold Saints.
That was, until that fateful night when Alex seemingly appeared out of thin air, completely crushing his conspiracy to assassinate the Pope.
Only then did everyone realize that even the incarnation of a god could be frozen solid.
Alex nodded slightly, casting a meaningful glance toward the firmament above.
"If the investigation into the Sagittarius Gold Cloth needs to be halted, Your Holiness need only give the command..."
The dark silhouette of Athena materialized behind Shion once more, and his voice turned ethereal.
"Understood. I shall monitor the results of the investigation..."
Alex understood clearly. As expected, Athena’s divine consciousness could descend upon the Sanctuary through the Pope’s body at any given moment.
Alex turned and took his leave. Igniting his Cosmo, his body transformed into a streak of light that pierced through the sky.
Shion’s gaze returned to its cloudy state as he muttered to himself,
"The twin companion stars... the twin stars of calamity... I cannot clearly divine the astrology of this generation..."
...
Alex arrived at the location where the distress token had been triggered. It was a sprawling marshland shrouded in a dark green, toxic fog. The dense miasma twisted into eerie, phantom-like shapes among the trees.
An ordinary person wouldn’t even be able to enter to investigate; merely getting close would result in a coma and subsequent death from miasma poisoning.
Taking a single step forward, a white halo expanded outward with his body at the epicenter. Frost surged forth like a tidal wave.
Amidst a series of sharp cracking sounds, the toxic fog crystallized into falling snowflakes, and the murky marsh froze over into a smooth mirror. In less than a minute, the entire region had been transformed into a vast, white kingdom of ice and snow.
Instead of entering the marsh, Alex drew a breath and shouted,
"Saga, I am here! Show yourself!"
Alex’s voice echoed through the frozen jungle like a biting winter wind.
"Alex... after all these years, your methods are still as overbearing as ever."
The frozen vegetation in the marsh shattered and collapsed as a young man slowly walked out.
His features were as exquisitely sculpted as an ancient Greek statue. Long, sea-blue hair fluttered in the chilling wind, his pale, cold skin radiating a jade-like luster, and his thin lips were pressed into a hard, rigid line.
Noting Saga’s hair color, the corners of Alex’s mouth curled up slightly.
"It’s been a while, Saga..."
Saga possessed a dual personality, simultaneously harboring two extremes within him: absolute good and absolute evil. When his benevolent persona took control, his hair was the all-encompassing blue of the ocean, and his eyes were golden. In this state, he could be referred to as "Blue Saga."
When his malicious persona dominated his body, his hair and eyes both turned pitch-black. In that state, he was known as "Black Saga."
Saga raised a hand to brush a snowflake from his shoulder. Beneath his sea-blue hair, his golden eyes were perfectly calm and undisturbed. He stared at Alex for a long moment.
"When you suppressed me all those years ago, did you really think I would spend the rest of my life rotting in a prison?"
"I never intended to lock you up forever." Alex’s expression remained completely unbothered. "You should know perfectly well that if I had truly wanted to keep you there, you would have never had the chance to escape!"
Saga’s smile carried a hint of mockery.
"I knew it. In truth, you are just like me, Alex. We are the exact same kind of people..."
