Chapter 53: Chapter 27: Saga Appears, We Are the Same Kind of People! (Part 1)
Before the Silver Saints departed, Alex had summoned them one by one to give them confidential instructions.
During those meetings, he used the Ring of the Underworld—obtained from the Reincarnation World—to control Sagitta Ptolemy and Canis Major Sirius, two Silver Saints who harbored dark sides within their hearts.
After all, according to the original history, these two were destined to be treated as EXP fodder and killed by the five core Bronze Saints anyway.
After leaving the Sanctuary, neither of them managed to break free from the hypnosis. In their hearts, they firmly believed it was Pope Shion who had summoned them and issued the secret orders.
Furthermore, Alex could take over their minds at any time through the Ring of the Underworld.
Although this ring was evil, there were times when it could truly produce miraculous effects.
Just then, a bloodstained frost token flew before his eyes and detonated in mid-air.
From within it, the terrified voice of a Saint rang out.
"Lord Alex, I encountered Gemini Sa... save... ah!"
The voice cut off abruptly. It was obvious that the Saint who sent the message had met with a fatal accident.
Alex frowned slightly. Saga?
What was Saga doing revealing himself at a time like this?
Among the twelve Gold Saints, there was one constellation that was extremely special: Gemini.
In every generation, the Gemini Gold Saints were always twins, meaning two Saints simultaneously existed who could don the Gemini Gold Cloth.
This generation’s Gemini Saints were the twin brothers, Saga and Kanon.
In fact, if Alex hadn’t appeared as a transmigrator, the Pope currently residing in the Pope’s Palace should have been Saga. The old Pope, Shion, was supposed to have been secretly murdered by Saga years ago.
Alex furrowed his brow. Given Saga’s strength, if he didn’t want to be discovered by these Bronze and Silver Saints, Alex absolutely wouldn’t be able to find him even if he multiplied his deployed manpower by a hundred.
Since Saga was proactively revealing himself now, there could only be one reason: he wanted to meet with Alex, the strongest Saint of the Sanctuary.
Alex couldn’t afford to worry about Saori Kido and the five Bronze Saints for the time being. Anyway, with Athena’s protection behind them, it would be difficult for them to die even if they wanted to.
Just like Phoenix Ikki, who had been completely killed multiple times only to inexplicably resurrect, forcefully earning himself the title of the Immortal Bird...
The Silver Saints Alex had dispatched to investigate the whereabouts of the Cloth were merely tools to temper the Bronze Saints, helping them grow quickly to a level where they could participate in the Holy War.
Then, at the appropriate moment, Alex would control Sagitta Ptolemy to loose that specific arrow, severely wounding Saori Kido.
This would force the five core Bronze Saints to bravely storm the Twelve Temples of the Zodiac, using the Gold Saints to level up...
In Alex’s view, Saga’s return took a higher priority than retrieving the Sagittarius Gold Cloth.
Saga was one of the very few Saints among this generation’s twelve Gold Saints who could genuinely go toe-to-toe with Alex. Whether in terms of sheer strength or mental fortitude, Saga possessed the capability to govern the Sanctuary.
Alex arrived outside the Pope’s Palace alone and spoke in a deep voice.
"Your Holiness, Alex requests an audience!"
The Silver Saints assigned to guard the Pope had already been dispatched across the globe. At this moment, Shion was completely unguarded. His voice echoed from the depths of the grand hall.
"Come in."
Alex strode into the hall wearing his Gold Cloth. During extraordinary times, there was no need to strictly adhere to the rule of removing one’s Cloth before an audience.
Shion leaned against the back of his throne. His Cosmo was weak and aged, appearing as though it might extinguish at any moment.
"Is there news regarding the Sagittarius Cloth so soon?"
Shion sat up slightly, resting his chin on one hand as he looked at Alex with keen interest.
Alex knew that the person before him right now was Pope Shion himself. He bowed slightly.
"No. However, the Saints patrolling the earth sent back a message. They highly likely encountered Saga, and it appears they have already met with foul play."
Shion abruptly sat straight up, a sharp glint flashing through his cloudy eyes.
