Chapter 40 - 20: The Zombie Temple, The Fallen Reincarnator Appears! (Part 2)
Chapter 40: Chapter 20: The Zombie Temple, The Fallen Reincarnator Appears! (Part 2)
If this were the Saint Seiya universe, a lowly zombie daring to overstep and claim the divine domain of death would likely have Hades, the God of the Underworld, leading his 108 Specters right to their doorstep the very next day. There wouldn’t even be bone dust left of them.
Just then, a deep voice echoed from behind, sounding like countless pieces of rotting flesh rubbing and squelching together.
"Human, state your purpose."
Alex sharply turned around. At some unknown point, a phantom projection had materialized at the entrance of the grand hall.
The body of this phantom seemed to be stitched together from countless rotting corpse fragments, entirely shrouded in a dense black mist. Every inch of its skin presented a decayed, ashen-black hue, yet it was covered in a thick layer of dark-gold keratin.
Its head was a massive, humanoid skull. Two clusters of scarlet flames danced within its hollow eye sockets. Just by being subjected to the gaze of those flames, Alex felt an overwhelming, boundless malice wash over him, as if the entity wanted to devour his very soul.
At the same time, a red attribute panel abruptly popped up before his eyes:
[Fallen Reincarnator: ID 000003cee. Tier 10 Reincarnator, Dark Divine Creature! Worlds Experienced: 34!]
[Stats - Strength: 530,000; Agility: 480,000; Spirit: 290,000; Constitution: 1,200,000; Divine Power: 0.2!]
[Warning: What you are currently seeing is merely an avatar, not the true body. Please proceed with caution!]
’Oh? Is he truly a divine creature?’
Alex couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. This Fallen Reincarnator had actually ascended to godhood. How did he manage that?
Moreover, looking at his four core attributes, they were even more terrifying than Enel’s from the One Piece world. His Constitution had actually broken the one-million mark!
If he could kill him, it would be quite a substantial harvest.
The moment their eyes met, a look of realization dawned on the phantom.
"Ah, so it’s a Hunter. If I remember correctly, you should be the third-generation Hunter... No wonder you had the gall to charge into my temple all by yourself!"
Alex didn’t waste time with words. He tilted his chin up slightly at the phantom.
"I can see this is just your divine consciousness descending. Reveal your true body so I can send you straight to the afterlife!"
The phantom let out a burst of harsh, manic laughter, the black mist churning restlessly around it.
"Knowing you are a Hunter, why would I ever reveal my true body? Let me tell you, I have already ascended to godhood. My soul and my physical body are anchored in completely separate dimensions. As long as I don’t reveal my true body, you will never be able to kill me!"
Hearing this, Alex couldn’t help but find it rather amusing.
This is what he calls a god?
If it were the gods of the Saint Seiya universe—whether it was Poseidon the Sea King, Hades the Lord of the Underworld, or even Hypnos and Thanatos. Regardless of their divine rank, they at least possessed the grace and pride of a deity. Even if they fell in battle, they would die with absolute dignity.
Nothing like this piece of trash in front of him, who bore the title of a God King yet acted like such a coward.
The phantom sneered.
"Every generation of Hunters consists of terrifying existences that stand at the absolute peak the moment they enter the Reincarnation Space. I can see that you are incredibly strong."
"Though I have already become a god, for the sake of absolute certainty, I will never fight you head-on."
"My lifespan is infinite. No matter how strong you are, you are but a mere mortal. Why should I pit my infinite life against yours and risk an unpredictable outcome?"
The phantom turned its back to him.
"Leave. I will never reveal my true body to you. Even if you stay in this world for ten thousand years, you won’t find me. You cannot outlast me!"
With that said, the phantom dissolved into a wisp of black smoke, vanishing without a trace from before Alex’s eyes.
Even when Alex smashed the majestic golden statue to pieces and chucked the rubble out of the hall, the coward never returned.
Did he really think that just by hiding, Alex would have no way to deal with him?
Alex originally didn’t want to resort to this method, as it was simply too time-consuming!
He flew high into the sky and unleashed the Diamond Dust!
The blue-white frost pierced straight through the planet’s atmosphere. Upon the surface of the moon, it precisely carved out several lines of massive text, written clearly in, English, French, Mexican and other languages.
