Chapter 38: Chapter 19: Full-Scale Mobilization, Ring of the Underworld! (Part 2)

"This human can manipulate frost and lightning! Don’t attack from the surface; approach from underground! We must kill him, or our Divine Race will be wiped out!"

He thought Alex wouldn’t understand the zombie language, completely unaware that the Reincarnation Space’s Universal Communication Module was already automatically translating every single word.

Alex nodded slightly. This guy was finally proving to be somewhat useful. He wanted to see what other trump cards this zombie civilization had hidden up its sleeve.

Before long, the ground beneath his feet began to tremble violently, as if a colossal behemoth were tunneling through the earth.

Large patches of ink-black shadows suddenly appeared in the dense forest. They moved autonomously like living creatures, swallowing even the sunlight wherever they passed.

Dropping his disguise, Bourne let out a series of sinister sneers.

"Human, you are dead! Haha! The Shadow Knights have arrived. They are the elite troops who have fought alongside my grandfather his entire life, guarding the Royal Capital. You should feel honored that they have been dispatched to kill you!"

Alex frowned slightly. These newly appearing zombies had clearly exceeded the limits of what normal zombies could achieve.

If he wasn’t mistaken, they must have been brought to this world from another dimension by a Fallen Reincarnator.

If this zombie civilization were allowed to develop for a few more centuries, it might actually form a brilliant civilization intertwining swords and magic.

Unfortunately, this civilization was the product of a Fallen Reincarnator’s interference and was not recognized by the planet’s consciousness. If it continued to develop, the entire world would eventually regress into chaos along with it.

Alex’s vision suddenly darkened. He realized that, at some unknown moment, he had been transported into an alternate spatial dimension. He was surrounded by pitch-black darkness, unable to distinguish up from down, left from right.

Hundreds of zombie knights clad in black armor and riding skeletal horses silently formed a circle around him. Blue flames burned within their eye sockets, and their icy gazes were uniformly fixed on Alex.

The leading knight drew the longsword from his waist. The blade gleamed with a cold light in the shadows as he silently issued the command to attack.

In the next second, the figures of these dark knights began to fade, gradually blending into the surrounding shadows. They could actually merge themselves into the shadows, only revealing their physical forms when launching an attack. One longsword after another suddenly thrust out from the darkness...

Although they couldn’t break through Alex’s defenses, Alex couldn’t kill them immediately either. Whenever he threw a punch, the bodies of these knights would instantly turn intangible, completely evading the damage.

’They certainly had some impressive tricks. No wonder humanity had been defeated by this so-called Divine Race!’

Alex’s interest was piqued. An armor of ice condensed on the surface of his body. Using himself as the epicenter, expanding rings of white halos enveloped the entire battlefield!

Aquarius Ultimate Technique, Frost Halo!

With every ring that appeared, the ambient temperature plummeted drastically until it reached Absolute Zero.

Ever since mastering Absolute Zero, Alex had never encountered an entity capable of contending with this power. Even photons would be frozen solid and rendered completely immobile at Absolute Zero!l

The movements of the dark knights gradually began to slow down! Soon, they transformed into statues of ice, losing all signs of movement.

Alex threw a single punch!

Crack!

The entire shadow dimension shattered completely before his eyes!

Because he was delayed for that short while, a massive crater leading straight underground had appeared where Bourne had been located. His severed head was nowhere to be seen, likely rescued by whatever had tunneled through the earth.

Suddenly, a dark golden ring appeared on the ground before Alex. The ring was entirely wreathed in dense black mist, continuously emitting agonized roars.

’What is this?’

Alex picked it up, and an item attribute panel instantly popped up before his eyes.

[Ring of the Underworld: Originating from the Lord of the Rings universe. Engraved with dark runes of the same origin as the One Ring. Legend has it that before Morgoth was exiled, he forged this forbidden artifact using his own dark essence and the lingering resentment of the Nine Nazgûl.]

[Skill: Summon Dark Knights of the Underworld. The ring issues a summons to the remnant souls of the Nine Nazgûl residing in the shadow plane. The number of Underworld Knights summoned each time depends on the summoner’s Spirit attribute.]

[Domain Suppression: The shadow barrier deployed by the ring traps enemies within its range in Nazgûl illusions. Victims are repeatedly tortured by their most terrifying memories. Those with weak willpower will collapse instantly, becoming nourishment for the barrier.]

[Warning: Soul Erosion. After every use, the wielder’s soul will be eroded by darkness. If the ring is used to summon more than 99 times, the wielder’s soul will be entirely devoured by the ring, turning them into a new Knight of the Underworld, trapped eternally in the shadow plane.]

"Useless."

The summoned creatures were incredibly weak, and it came with a pile of side effects. Alex casually tossed the ring into his private dimensional space, planning to sell it back to the Reincarnation Space later.

However, he was able to confirm one thing from this: that God King Arthur was undoubtedly a Reincarnator!
