Chapter 37: Chapter 19: Full-Scale Mobilization, Ring of the Underworld! (Part 1)

Bourne couldn’t help but panic. He begged Alex bitterly, "I beg you! We of the Divine Race will be severely burned by the sunlight. Although it won’t kill us immediately, the pain is excruciating! Just give me a little more time, I can definitely find God King Arthur!"

"There’s no need."

Alex stood at the summit, his tone as cold as ice. "The best way you can help me is to scream as miserably as you can in a moment."

The sunlight finally fell upon Bourne’s severed head. Plumes of acrid smoke instantly rose from his skin, as if he had been splashed with sulfuric acid. It rapidly swelled, blistered, and cracked apart, exposing the ghastly white bone underneath.

"Argh!" A miserable, blood-curdling shriek traveled far into the distance, echoing through the dense forest.

"I will give you exactly one day," Alex said coldly, watching him struggle in sheer agony. "If no one comes to save you by then, you can go ahead and die."

Bourne hurriedly roared in the zombie language. "Save me! Notify the Royal Capital! Send the strongest warriors of the Divine Race to save me!"

The news spread like a plague across the zombie race’s biological network.

"Did you hear? King Bourne had his head ripped off by a wild human, and he’s currently being exposed to the sun!"

"A human? There are still wild ones out there? Aren’t humans all livestock?"

"Where did a human get the guts and the strength to beat King Bourne into such a state?"

In less than an hour, the ground suddenly began to tremble violently.

Thousands of zombie knights, fully clad in heavy metal armor and riding mutated hyenas, charged to the foot of the hill amidst billowing clouds of dust. Their armor was seamlessly fitted, enclosing their entire bodies—clearly designed to shield them from the deadly sunlight.

Leading the charge was a colossal behemoth standing over five meters tall. He carried a giant battleaxe resting on his shoulder, looking strikingly similar to the Executioner from Resident Evil. Beneath him was an even more massive zombie hound. Man and beast stood there like a mobile fortress of steel.

"It’s the God King’s Guard, Ettore the Slaughterer!" Bourne roared in wild ecstasy upon seeing him. "Save me! Hurry and save me!"

The giant raised his massive axe, pointing it straight at Alex on the summit, and bellowed in a muffled, booming voice. "Human, surrender without a fight, and I shall leave your corpse intact!"

Alex couldn’t be bothered to waste his breath. With a mere raise of his hand, a bolt of golden lightning struck down.

The electrical current, like a long, writhing snake, instantly pierced through the giant zombie’s chest, sparking and jumping madly across the metal plating of the army.

Bzzzt!

The immense electrical current didn’t just ravage the zombie’s body; it created a microwave-like effect against the metal plating, effectively turning their armor into ovens.

Soon, thousands of smoking zombies, along with their mounts, collapsed to the ground in unison. A charred, nauseating stench of burnt meat wafted out from beneath their armor. Their brains had literally been brought to a boil by the electricity. Even with the undead constitution of zombies, they were completely and utterly dead.

The zombies watching the live feed globally across their biological network instantly fell dead silent.

Huh?

That’s it?

A Royal Guard unit of thousands—the absolute strongest warriors of the Divine Race—wiped out before they could even land a single strike?

Alex turned back to Bourne and raised an eyebrow. "It seems your Divine Race isn’t quite up to the task. They all just lay down the moment we met?"

Bourne’s current appearance was more horrifying than a standard Primitive. His facial muscles had been scorched into charcoal by the sun, and his exposed gums curled outward. Yet, he still managed to force a sycophantic smile.

"These lackeys are weak and pathetic; how could they possibly be a match for you, Just wait a little longer, my grandfather might just show up!"

Alex let out a soft chuckle. "Let’s hope so. Remember, you only have one day left."

That freezing smile let Bourne know that the man was absolutely not joking.

Desperate to survive, Bourne could no longer hold back. He shrieked wildly in the zombie language.

"Father, save me! This human is incredibly strong! Send Grandfather’s Death Knight Order and the Order of High Priests!"

"And wake up the Divine Beast Earth Dragon while you’re at it!"
