Chapter 128: Chapter 64: Life Deprivation, Experiencing Death! (Part 2)

With such power, Alex might truly be able to break the millennium-long divine curse of reincarnation that Athena had imposed upon them.

Inside the Pope’s Chamber, Saga stood before the window, his long black hair dancing wildly in the wind generated by Alex’s tempestuous Cosmo.

Having consecutively acquired massive amounts of Divinity and Soul Power recently, the intensity of Alex’s Cosmo was far more terrifying and colossal than when he had slain the Hydra.

He gazed in the direction of the Ophiuchus Temple, his eyes filled with a complex myriad of emotions—shock, wariness, and a barely perceptible trace of excitement.

"To think that when he killed the Hydra last time, he was still holding back... Just how many trump cards is this guy hiding?"

Sensing this Cosmo, Hyoga jolted awake from his unconsciousness.

When he realized that, at some unknown point, he had been moved outside the Scorpio Temple, his eyes widened in astonishment.

Looking at the ice-blue pillar of energy that pierced the sky, Hyoga’s expression was exceptionally complex as he muttered, "Teacher..."

...

Inside the Ophiuchus Temple, the mocking sneer on Asclepius’s face had long since vanished, replaced by profound wariness.

The threads of green light entangling Alex shattered inch by inch under the shockwave of his Cosmo, the power of the toxins dissipating without a trace.

But soon, a flash of ruthlessness crossed Asclepius’s eyes, and he sneered.

"The intensity of your Cosmo truly surprises me. It has already reached the absolute limit of a mortal."

He raised his serpentine scepter, the gemstone at its tip erupting with a blinding green light.

"But Alex, no matter how strong your Cosmo is, it is still only at the Seventh Sense... Before my Divine Domain, just how long can you hold out?"

The green light condensed in mid-air, forming the massive glowing silhouette of a cobra. Its pupils burned with dark purple hellfire, and its maw gaped open to reveal razor-sharp fangs, carrying the overwhelming pressure of one who controlled death.

"Alex, did you really think you could defy a god with this meager amount of power?"

Asclepius’s voice dripped with divine arrogance as he thrust his scepter downward.

"Experience the judgment of a god... Divine Domain: Life Deprivation!"

The glowing cobra materialized into physical form, lunging at Alex like a falling meteor. Its massive fangs glinted coldly in the light, moments away from piercing straight through his body!

In the corner of the temple, the four Bronze Saints, who had just awakened from their stupor, saw this and cried out in alarm.

"Dodge quickly!"

"Get out of the way!"

Seiya struggled to get up, but the massive amount of toxins in his body caused him to collapse back onto the ground. Shun tightly gripped his Nebula Chain, but the chains, which usually protected their master autonomously, remained completely motionless.

To everyone’s absolute shock, Alex stood rooted to the spot, showing not the slightest intention of dodging.

In truth, his decision to meet Asclepius without wearing his Cloth was driven entirely by a desire to face death.

Only by personally experiencing death could he completely master his soul power and break through his current sense.

Last time, he had asked the Reincarnation Space to arrange a world where he could experience death. The result had been the Bleach universe, which had left Alex both amused and exasperated.

He wanted to personally experience death to seize the opportunity to awaken the Eighth Sense, not merely witness the cycle and transition of other souls.

The appearance of Asclepius this time gave Alex a glimmer of hope—a sliver of hope to achieve the Eighth Sense.

If he missed this opportunity, he didn’t know how long he would have to wait for another.

Squelch!

The cobra’s venomous fangs instantly pierced through Alex’s chest. Blood sprayed wildly from the wound, dyeing his coarse white clothes crimson.

The massive force launched him high into the air. While still suspended in mid-flight, a profound sense of weakness swept over his entire body.

Alex could clearly feel his life force rapidly draining away along the fangs. His skin turned as pale as paper, and the circulation of his Cosmo grew sluggish and stagnant.

Asclepius’s Divine Domain actually acted directly upon the very essence of life at the soul level.

Even so, there was not the slightest hint of panic on Alex’s face.

He looked down at the venomous fangs piercing his body. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly, and his voice, though weak, carried a trace of profound relief.

"So... this is what death feels like..."
