Chapter 126: Chapter 63: Odysseus? Asclepius! (Part 2)

"You’re finally here, Alex. I thought you would wait until Saori Kido was completely dead before you come to see me!"

His voice was deep and magnetic, resonating like the lowest strings of a cello, yet it carried a faintly imperceptible sense of bewitchment. Even the air itself seemed to be tainted by the demonic aura of his voice.

A massive Cosmo quietly descended from the void!

Alex noticed that Odysseus was currently wearing a Silver Cloth. But the exact moment he laid eyes on Alex, Odysseus’s pupils slowly turned golden.

The Silver Cloth on his body also began to undergo a metamorphosis. Soon, the Ophiuchus Cloth continuously expanded and evolved right before Alex’s eyes, transforming into a Gold Cloth!

The design of this Gold Cloth was extremely peculiar.

Its primary hue was a profound dark gold, its edges intricately inlaid with dark silver patterns. Each pattern resembled the coiling body of a snake, extending from the shoulder armor down to the waist and abdomen, gleaming with a cold, intimidating metallic luster under the light.

Embedded in the very center of the Cloth was a diamond-shaped red gemstone, surrounded by twelve tiny silver stars corresponding to the position of the Ophiuchus constellation in the night sky.

The golden tail wings on the back of the Cloth were similar to Ikki’s Phoenix Cloth, but their shape resembled several venomous snakes, exuding a bizarre and eerie beauty.

Judging solely by its appearance, this Gold Cloth was far more comprehensive, tightly sealed, and robust than the Gold Cloths of the Twelve Temples.

From a visual estimate, Alex judged that the amount of materials used to forge it was more than double that of an ordinary Gold Cloth.

The Ophiuchus Gold Cloth was an exclusive divine armor forged by Hephaestus, the God of Fire, specifically for the God of Medicine, Asclepius, during the ancient era. There was absolutely no skimping on its construction!

Although this Cloth was classified among the Gold Cloths, its specifications and grade were significantly higher than those of a standard Gold Cloth.

In his hand, he held a serpentine scepter forged entirely from gold, resembling two intertwining snakes biting each other.

Standing before the Ophiuchus Temple, Alex scrutinized Odysseus with his pitch-black eyes, his Cosmo quietly beginning to ignite.

Alex could clearly perceive that within the opponent’s Cosmo, there was not only the sacred energy of a Gold Saint but also a dense, suffocating aura of the Underworld—and even a faint fluctuation of Divinity.

The man standing before him was no longer Odysseus. Perhaps he should be addressed as...

"Asclepius!"

Alex’s voice was completely flat, devoid of any emotion.

"You have been dead for thousands of years. Now you’ve reversed death, returned from the Underworld, and hidden yourself in this Ophiuchus Temple. What exactly are you trying to do?"

Asclepius chuckled lightly, the fingers gripping the serpentine scepter gently caressing the snake patterns on its shaft.

"What am I trying to do? Naturally, it is to cure the terminal illness of the mortal realm!"

He lightly tapped his scepter against the ground. A ring of golden light expanded outward from his feet, and the heavy stone walls of the Ophiuchus Temple became transparent.

He raised his head, gazing into the distance at the brightly lit human world.

"At this very moment, Athena’s reincarnation is clinging to her last breath. The Gold Saints are fighting their own separate, fractured battles. Yet, Athena has chosen to abandon you Gold Saints, just as she pushed me into the abyss of death all those years ago!"

"Doesn’t a Sanctuary like this need a true god to guide it?"

He extended his left hand toward Alex in an earnest, open invitation.

"And you, Alex—the strongest Saint of the current era’s Sanctuary. In her heart, you are not even comparable to a few Bronze Saints. Don’t you feel resentful and utterly helpless?"

"Come! Join me. Help me complete the great cause I left unfinished back then, and I shall grant you eternal freedom!"

"What a pity!"

Alex chuckled, raising an eyebrow. His Cosmo ignited with blazing brilliance, holding its ground and splitting the pressure within the Ophiuchus Temple equally against Asclepius’s Cosmo.

"If you were still the God of Medicine, Asclepius, from back then, perhaps I would seriously consider cooperating with you."

He paused, a trace of mockery curving the corners of his mouth.

"But right now, you’re nothing more than a lapdog of the Underworld. You want to recruit me? Focus on walking out of your Ophiuchus Temple alive first, then we can talk."
