Chapter 727: Chapter 727: Don’t Leave Me, Okay?

Annabelle Linton was so stunned she was speechless.

’Poisoning aside, sometimes the things this man said were so ridiculous they left me speechless.’

’He didn’t act like a CEO at all—more like a petulant child.’

Annabelle Linton pushed his hand away and pulled the blanket over her head.

Leona Grant gave her no time to retreat or hide. He yanked the blanket off and tossed it onto the floor, then hauled her up by brute force. His large hand seized her face, forcing her to look him in the eye.

"Annabelle Linton, look me in the eyes and answer me. Are you really going to leave me? I can feel it. You have feelings for me. I refuse to believe you can be this heartless. You must be hiding something from me, right?"

Annabelle Linton looked into his eyes.

They were deep and burning, fixed on her without a single blink, a hopeful light shimmering in their depths.

’It was more than just having feelings for him; she loved him so much that the thought of their separation made every breath an agony.’

’If she said something even more hurtful, would he be truly heartbroken?’

’Leona Grant, why can’t you be more magnanimous? Why can’t you just let things go?’

’I’m just a dying woman, after all.’

Annabelle Linton slapped his hand away in disgust, snapping irritably, "Is it that fun to delude yourself? If you enjoy it so much, play by yourself. Don’t drag me into it."

Annabelle Linton felt like she was at her breaking point. As soon as the words left her mouth, she turned and walked toward the door without giving him a second glance.

Her hand had just closed around the doorknob when Leona Grant violently wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and flung her onto the bed.

Before Annabelle Linton could react, he was on top of her, his eyes bloodshot as he pinned her down.

Leona Grant could be incredibly childish at times, but there were also moments when Annabelle was genuinely afraid of him.

This man treated her very well, but he was by no means a simple person.

Like right now, for instance. Looking at him, Annabelle was terrified.

Pinning her down, Leona Grant’s kiss came crashing down on her like an overwhelming deluge.

His kiss was so savage, her lips ached in pain.

Leona Grant pinned her hands above her head, his expression grim. "Tell me," he growled, "are you going to leave me?!"

Annabelle Linton’s eyes filled with a misty haze, but she said nothing.

Leona Grant thundered, "Speak!"

"This is useless."

"Hah!"

Leona Grant kissed her again, and as he did, he pulled off her pajama pants. His hand slid up her leg, stopping at the edge of her panties. After kissing her for a long moment, he demanded again, "Tell me! Are you going to leave me?!"

Annabelle Linton was truly terrified of him now. She tried to pull his hand away, but he had her own hands pinned. There was nothing she could do.

She pleaded, "Leona Grant, please don’t...!"

Tears instantly welled in Annabelle Linton’s eyes, blurring her vision.

Knowing it was useless to beg, Annabelle Linton turned her face away and squeezed her eyes shut.

Leona Grant was truly beginning to despair. It felt just like that time she was going to marry Aaron Wyatt, and he had been completely powerless to stop her.

His heart twisted with pain. His kisses on her face turned gentle, almost feather-light, and his voice was nearly a beg. "Annabelle Linton, don’t leave me, please? I can’t live without you. If you leave, I’ll go mad."

Annabelle Linton was speechless, finally managing to say in a wooden voice, "I’m sorry..."

Leona Grant’s eyes turned red as well.

’He didn’t want her apology. He wanted her to tell him she wouldn’t leave—that she would never, ever leave him.’

’He could stubbornly force her to stay. He was more than capable of it.’

’But he wanted her to have him in her heart, to stay because she truly wanted to.’
