Annabelle Linton shook her head.

’I probably won’t have many more chances to cook for him, so I shouldn’t waste time.’

Annabelle Linton made him some simple, light porridge and fed it to him, one spoonful at a time.

Watching her feed him the porridge, her gaze lowered, Leona Grant was overcome with a feeling of bliss.

’If only it could be like this forever.’

Over the next few days, Annabelle Linton and Leona Grant were inseparable.

They were together constantly, only separating to use the restroom.

Annabelle Linton agreed to everything Leona Grant suggested, which left him feeling both flattered and shocked.

In two days, the week would be up—and so would the deadline Vivian Yates had set.

She didn’t dare to be defiant, terrified that something might happen to Leona Grant.

Today, Annabelle Linton and Leona Grant went out shopping together.

Since Annabelle Linton was leaving soon, she wanted to use the last of their time to buy him some clothes.

In truth, Leona Grant had a dedicated team that custom-made all his clothes, but Annabelle Linton bought some for him anyway.

In front of a store window, Leona Grant’s eyes landed on a set of matching outfits. The pale pink color would perfectly complement Annabelle Linton’s complexion.

He remembered that Annabelle Linton and Aaron Wyatt had worn matching outfits before. He had been jealous. He wanted to wear them with her, too!

Annabelle Linton didn’t object.

The matching set was actually just a pair of pullovers.

Leona Grant’s was a pink pullover with pants, while Annabelle Linton’s was a matching pink pullover with a short skirt.

The clothes were simple, without any particular flair, but the two of them looked stunning.

Leona Grant, in particular, didn’t look the least bit effeminate in pink. In fact, the pullover subtly revealed the firm muscles beneath, making him look exceptionally attractive.

Accustomed to seeing him in tailored suits, she found his casual look to be a completely different style.

One was the domineering CEO, the other was the friendly boy next door.

But both looks were equally stunning.

Looking at him, Annabelle Linton felt her resolve strengthen. ’I can’t let him die.’

The two strolled around, stopping here and there, and bought a fair number of things. When evening came, they ate dinner out.

It was late by the time they got home. They washed up and went to bed...

Lying in bed, Annabelle Linton felt Leona Grant place her leg over his and wrap her hand around his waist.

Thinking she was asleep, he gave her a soft kiss before drifting off himself.

’But how could she possibly sleep?’

’Tomorrow, I have to leave him. There’s no point in delaying any longer.’

’The poison affecting us is far from simple. For now, Vivian Yates can use a suppressant to slow its effects, but sooner or later, our immune systems will be completely destroyed. When that happens, death will be certain.’

Leona Grant slowly moved closer again, pressing his body against hers as his hands began to wander.

Now fully awake, Annabelle Linton shot up and violently shoved him away.

Caught completely off guard, Leona Grant nearly tumbled off the bed.

He decided to go with it and tumbled to the floor. Then, he looked up at her with a wounded expression and held out his hand. "Help me up."

Annabelle Linton shot him a single glance before grabbing her things and heading into the bathroom to get ready.

Leona Grant was left completely dumbfounded.
