Chapter 720: Chapter 720: But I Don’t Want to Leave You

Leona Grant looked at her, confused. He didn’t understand what was wrong.

After a while, Annabelle Linton came out and began packing her things into a suitcase.

Leona Grant completely lost his composure. ’What is she doing?’

’Everything seemed fine yesterday. What’s going on?’

Leona Grant watched her, perplexed. Bare-chested and barefoot, he walked up to her. Seeing her packing, he asked with a completely bewildered expression, "Annabelle Linton, what are you doing?"

Annabelle Linton said innocently, "I’m going away."

Leona Grant immediately frowned and said, "Where are you going?"

’Packing and all... What a production.’

Annabelle Linton continued packing as she said lightly, "Serenvale. I’m going to stay at my senior brother’s wellness center for a while. I’ll be back after some time."

’Senior brother?’

’Be back after a while?’

’Has this woman lost her mind?’

Leona Grant stretched out an arm, pulled her into his embrace, and said domineeringly, "I won’t allow it. Don’t go."

Annabelle Linton pulled out of his embrace, resumed her packing, and said coolly, "I have to go whether you allow it or not. I already promised my senior brother."

Leona Grant suddenly found it a little ridiculous.

’Senior brother, senior brother, senior brother. Is her senior brother more important, or is her husband?’

’Oh, right. He remembered now. She had said before that her senior brother was more important than her husband.’

’So, at a time like this, how could he possibly let her go?’

’Does she take him for a fool?’

"So what? When I say you can’t go, you can’t go!" Leona Grant said domineeringly.

Annabelle Linton’s heart trembled.

Her plan was to start a fight with him and then just leave. Tomorrow was Vivian Yates’s deadline.

’But did she really have to fight with him?’

’She really didn’t want to fight with him at all.’

’But she had no choice.’

Annabelle Linton looked at him unhappily and said, "Leona Grant, I’ve realized that since I’ve been with you, I have no personal freedom at all. You try to control everywhere I go. When I was on my own, I could go wherever I pleased. I really hate having someone restrict my freedom. I’m sick of this life!"

I mean, Leona Grant was a bit flustered, you know?

This had all come completely out of the blue.

’Why did she suddenly want to go to Serenvale to find Quentin Holland? And to stay for a while, no less.’

Leona Grant’s face darkened, and he said, equally displeased, "I’m your husband. If I don’t look out for you, who will? You say I restrict your freedom, but look at yourself! Not even giving a heads-up, just packing your bags the next day saying you’re going to live somewhere else for a while. Do you have any respect for me at all?"

"Okay, then. I’m telling you now: I’m leaving. Will you let me go?"

Leona Grant was caught speechless. "You—"

Annabelle Linton ignored him completely and went right back to packing.

Exasperated, Leona Grant shoved her suitcase aside and said angrily, "I said you can’t go, and that means you can’t go! This isn’t up for discussion!"

’The main issue was that she’d be with that Quentin Holland for an extended period of time!’

Annabelle Linton gave him a cool glance, then crouched down to pick up her things from the floor. Her voice was subdued as she said, "You can’t stop me. If I say I’m leaving, I’m leaving."

Watching her crouched on the floor in her bathrobe, picking up her things, a bitter ache washed over Leona Grant.

’Why did she always hurt him over other men?’

’He didn’t want to be apart from her.’

’Forget it. He wouldn’t upset her. Maybe he really was being too controlling.’

Leona Grant pulled her up from the floor, sat her on the bed, and took her hand. "Annabelle Linton, I’m sorry," he said, his voice low. "I know I’m too possessive, and I shouldn’t restrict your freedom so much... but I don’t want us to be apart."
