Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 713: You’re Too Heartless
Chapter 713: Chapter 713: You’re Too Heartless
With that, Leona Grant went downstairs.
He wore only a pair of casual pants, his upper body bare, revealing firm muscles and a lean physique.
He had a great body—not overly muscular, but not scrawny either. In short, he exuded a potent, masculine sex appeal.
"Annabelle Linton, you are my wife. I’m sick, and yet you’re dead set on running out. Is this how a wife is supposed to act?" he asked, narrowing his eyes at her in displeasure.
"Then I’ll stop being one." Annabelle Linton looked at him coolly. "If you think I’m unqualified, can’t I just quit?"
A harsh glint flashed in Leona Grant’s eyes as he demanded in a stern voice, "What do you mean by that?"
"Exactly what it sounds like."
In truth, Annabelle Linton’s anger was starting to boil over. ’I’ve never met anyone who cared so little for their own well-being.’
’If he doesn’t even care about his own body, what’s the point of us being together?’
Leona Grant couldn’t tell if she was serious about leaving or just bluffing, but hearing her words sent a wave of panic through his heart. He roared, "If you’re going to divorce me, then why did you take my pants off earlier? You’re ruining my reputation! You have to take responsibility for me!"
Annabelle Linton: "..."
Annabelle Linton felt there was no point in talking to him anymore. She turned resolutely and headed for the door.
With lightning speed, Leona Grant grabbed her and pulled her into his arms.
Her comforting scent filled his senses, and only then did Leona Grant begin to feel at ease.
’The truth is, I regretted what I said that day. I feel like I was being completely unreasonable.’
’What did any of that have to do with Annabelle Linton? It was clearly my fault from the start. It was perfectly reasonable for her to be with another man. I was just jealous.’
’I’ve thought it through now. Since we’re both okay, I have to stay with her. I can’t just talk about leaving so casually.’
With a wave of his hand, Leona Grant dismissed the maids.
Annabelle Linton was still in his embrace. She shoved him hard, but he only held her tighter.
Once the maids had left, he threw her onto the sofa with brute force, loomed over her, and declared loudly, "Annabelle Linton, do you think you’re all that? Think you’re so tough? I have something to tell you today, so you better listen up!"
Annabelle Linton assumed he was going to bring up divorce again. She met his gaze with an equally sharp look and said, "Speak."
Leona Grant drew closer and shouted, "I was wrong!"
Annabelle Linton: "..."
’And here I was, wondering what he was going to say.’
’But then again, does him admitting he was wrong make everything okay? He doesn’t take his own health seriously, and I’m furious about it!’
Annabelle Linton pushed him irritably. "Get up, you’re crushing me!"
Hearing this, Leona Grant gave her a suggestive smile and slid his hand into the collar of her shirt. "You seem to be just fine when I’m on top of you every day!"
Annabelle Linton was pinned in the corner of the sofa with nowhere to escape.
Leona Grant held her down, wrapped his arms around her waist, buried his face in her soft chest, and said in a muffled voice, "You’re so heartless."
Annabelle Linton’s brow twitched. Looking at the head nestled against her chest, she thought, ’This isn’t about who’s heartless right now.’
She pushed at his head, saying with annoyance, "Can you please talk properly? Get up first."
"No. Annabelle Linton, you tell me. You were gone for days. Did you even care if I lived or died? I’m not getting up!"
As he spoke, he hugged her even tighter, his mouth deliberately grazing her chest.
