Chapter 712: Chapter 712: Realizing He Really Misses Her

When the butler found Annabelle Linton, she was at home watching TV.

’The Young Madam is truly something else,’ the butler thought. ’Always so composed, she puts you at ease with a single glance.’

The butler explained Leona Grant’s condition to Annabelle Linton, embellishing the story with plenty of exaggeration, of course.

After listening, Annabelle Linton simply nodded. "Understood. I’ll go get changed. Just a moment."

Watching the Young Madam’s cool and decisive manner, the butler suddenly felt a pang of disdain for the Young Master.

’The Young Madam is so much more mature than you are,’ he thought.

When Annabelle Linton arrived at the villa, everyone looked at her as if she were their savior.

She reached the room and gently opened the door. Leona Grant was already asleep.

His hair was a mess, a far cry from his usual elegant and distinguished demeanor.

His condition seemed rather serious. His eyes were red-rimmed, and his brows were knitted in a pained frown.

Annabelle Linton placed a hand on his forehead. It was burning hot. ’If his fever gets any higher,’ she thought, ’it could fry his brain.’

Annabelle Linton quietly slipped back out and asked the butler, "Has he taken any medicine in the past few days? Any injections?"

The butler replied truthfully, "To answer the Young Madam, the Young Master has neither taken medicine nor had any injections for the past two days."

Upon hearing this, Annabelle Linton’s brows furrowed deeply. "Go get my medical kit," she ordered in a low voice.

’He’s such a child,’ she fumed. ’How can he play games with his own health, no matter what’s going on?’

A moment later, the butler returned with Annabelle Linton’s medical kit.

Annabelle Linton put on a pair of disposable gloves and began to work with practiced ease, also asking a servant to brew some Chinese medicine.

Back in the room, the butler asked, "Young Madam, should I wake the Young Master?"

Annabelle Linton shook her head. "No, don’t."

With that, she told everyone else to leave the room.

’The injection needs to be given in the rear,’ she thought. ’It wouldn’t be right for others to see.’

Annabelle Linton closed the door, pulled down his pants to expose the area for the injection, and then administered the shot.

Leona Grant jolted awake instantly, glancing defensively behind him.

"Hold still!" Annabelle Linton said, expertly finishing the injection.

After giving the shot, Annabelle Linton pressed an alcohol-soaked cotton ball to the spot. Lying face down on the bed, Leona Grant felt he would rather be dead.

’How humiliating...’

Once she was done, Annabelle Linton packed up her things and said coolly, "You’ll need another shot this afternoon. You also have to take a dose of the Chinese medicine. I’ve laid out the rest of your medication, so be sure to take it on schedule. Do that for two days and you’ll be fine. Get some rest."

With that, she turned and walked out.

As Leona Grant watched her leave, his dark, brooding eyes fixed on her resentfully. "Where are you going?" he asked.

Annabelle Linton stopped, her hand on the doorknob. She turned her head slightly and said flatly, "Back to my place."

Then, leaving no room for argument, she walked out.

Leona Grant heard the soft click of the door closing, separating them. A pang of bitterness welled up in his heart.

She always left so coolly, and it pained him.

The more Leona Grant thought about it, the more it bothered him. ’She’s my wife. I’m sick, and she, my wife, keeps trying to leave. Is that reasonable?’

’Besides, they weren’t even divorced. What was she trying to pull?’

Having thought it through, Leona Grant got out of bed and rushed out of the room.

He stood at the top of the stairs, watching them.

Annabelle Linton was giving the butler some instructions, apparently about his condition.

Watching her, he realized just how much he truly missed her.
