Chapter 711: Chapter 711: Leona Grant Got Sick

Leona Grant stood behind her and said sadly, "Annabelle Linton, you don’t actually love me, do you?"

Annabelle Linton paused when she heard this, a flicker of mockery in her eyes.

’He questions my love over every little thing. This isn’t just insecurity anymore; it’s a matter of trust.’

’What’s the point if there isn’t even a little trust between a husband and wife?’

’We should both just cool down for a while.’

Annabelle Linton scoffed and said, "Think whatever you want."

When Leona Grant heard this, his heart clenched violently, as if squeezed by a giant hand.

He knew he had wronged her in many ways in the past.

He also knew that back when he treated her poorly, it was Aaron Wyatt who had brought warmth into her life.

He knew. He knew it was all his fault. He wanted to just say, "forget it," but the moment he opened his mouth, the words turned hurtful.

’Annabelle Linton was right. I just can’t get over this mental block.’

’Forget it. We should both just cool down for a while.’

’Maybe once I can get past this, we’ll be able to get along properly.’

——

When Annabelle Linton told Leona Grant they should cool off, she really meant it.

She had two apartments in Lynton. For several days, Annabelle Linton hadn’t returned to the villa, staying at one of her other places instead.

And she hadn’t even made a single phone call to Leona Grant.

Leona Grant kept saying he wanted to separate from Annabelle Linton, to cool off, cool off, but when he came home and didn’t see her, he couldn’t stop himself from throwing a tantrum.

He smashed everything, but it didn’t make him feel any better. He ended up going out and messing around for two days. Then, after coming home, he fell asleep while taking a bath. ℴℴ𝘮

By the next day, the water was ice-cold, and he had successfully managed to get sick.

...He was already causing trouble and unhappy all the time when he was healthy; now that he was sick, he was naturally even more terrifying.

"Young Master, please cooperate. Your cold seems very serious this time. You need immediate treatment, or it could lead to an infection. A very serious one. In the end, you’ll be the one suffering. You need to think about that," the doctor said, holding a syringe in front of him.

’I had thought putting it so severely would get some kind of reaction out of him, but...’

"Get out! All of you, get out!" Leona Grant grabbed the pillow from his bedside and threw it at the doctor. Then, with a loud CRASH, he swept the teacup, lamp, and everything else off the table.

The doctor stared at the patient before him in shock. ’I’ve been alive for decades, and this is the first time I’ve ever met such an uncooperative patient. It’s his own body. Does he have a death wish or something?’

"Young Master Grant, you..."

The doctor had only said a few words when Leona Grant got right out of bed and shoved him out of the room. "Out, out, out! Don’t show your face in front of me! Get the hell out!"

"Hey, Young Master, Young Master! My medical bag!" the doctor shouted anxiously as he was being pushed out.

A doctor’s medical bag was his lifeline, after all.

CRASH—

Then, his medical bag was rudely thrown out after him.

The doctor was speechless.

And just like that, the poor doctor was rudely thrown out.

The butler saw the doctor being kicked out and asked awkwardly, "How is the Young Master?"

The doctor squatted on the floor, picking up his medicines. His heart ached to see them scattered, but what could he do?

As he gathered his things, he said helplessly, "It’s quite serious. He needs injections and medication, but looking at the Young Master’s state, he probably won’t take any. Mr. Butler, you’re going to have your hands full this time!"

Hearing this, the butler’s brow twitched.

’Looks like the only thing to do is to swallow my pride and call the Young Madam back.’
