Chapter 659: A Mind for Progress

As soon as Mrs. Fu left, Qin Wenshu asked, "Sister-in-law, how should we handle this? Do you need me to go warn her or her husband?"

Fu Mingxue: ...?

"That’s not necessary. She probably doesn’t want to take both kids. My guess is she wants to take one, and the other..." She sneered. "Is to maintain a connection with us!"

’That family of hers must have done their research.’

’Take one, leave the other with the Qin family.’

’Then, when the siblings are older, they can come and re-establish ties. Or, they could have the two of them visit back and forth constantly while they’re young.’

’That way, the connection could never be severed.’

Qin Wenshu was furious. "In their dreams!"

Just then, Qin Wenying, who had been quiet the whole time, spoke up. "Just leave this to my dad. Don’t you worry about it."

Fu Mingxue was a little surprised to hear that. "Letting Dad handle it... wouldn’t that be imposing on him?"

Qin Wenying was unconcerned.

"How could it be? Someone is trying to snatch away his precious grandson or granddaughter! He’s the perfect person to handle it. Of course, if Qin Wenhao were around, we wouldn’t need Dad. We’d just let Wenhao deal with it himself."

"You’re so busy, so don’t you worry about these trivial matters. If you really find yourself with time to spare... you could come visit us and take a look at our planes."

Fu Mingxue: ...?

Seeing that the matter was settled, Qin Wenshu figured there was nothing more for him to do.

However, he then remembered something else. "Sister-in-law, do you have any more books for the college entrance exam?"

The moment he spoke, both his sister and sister-in-law shot him a sidelong glance.

Qin Wenshu felt a little embarrassed under their gazes.

"W-what’s wrong with me trying to better myself? Is that not allowed?"

Qin Wenying scoffed and turned her head away.

Fu Mingxue, however, quickly put two and two together.

"All right. Wait here a second."

"Okay, great!" Qin Wenshu was delighted.

’He remembered that the last time Gao Lan had asked his sister-in-law, she’d said she didn’t have any.’

’He hadn’t expected her to get them for him just like that. He really was special, after all.’

Fu Mingxue returned with a large, bundled stack of books.

"These are all of them. Take them and get to studying."

’Actually, if her relationship with Gao Lan hadn’t soured, she would have found these books for her.’

’But once things went south between them, she had no intention of going out of her way to deliver books and materials to her anymore.’

’That was why the books and materials were still sitting at home.’

Qin Wenshu was overjoyed. "Thanks, Sister-in-law! I’ll definitely study hard."

"Good luck!" Fu Mingxue didn’t offer to help him if he ran into trouble, as she was confident that Qin Wenshu had his own tutors to consult.

Qin Wenshu tied the books to the back seat.

Qin Wenying also got ready to leave.

Just then, Mrs. Fu came out after having finished washing the dishes. Qin Wenying said to her, "Auntie, I’m leaving now. Thank you for the dumplings; they were delicious."

Mrs. Fu immediately replied, "Come over anytime you want more."

"I will, once I’m back on leave." Then, Qin Wenying turned to Fu Mingxue and added, "Don’t you worry about that business anymore. I’ll tell my dad as soon as I get back and let him handle it."

Fu Mingxue nodded. "Alright."

’Since someone was offering to take care of it for her, what reason did she have to refuse?’

As soon as Qin Wenying left, Mrs. Fu leaned in and asked, "You’re going to let his father handle it?"

"Mhm. We don’t have to worry about it. She probably won’t come back again. And even if she does, just ignore her."

"Of course I won’t pay her any mind." ’Acknowledge her? Like hell!’

"I’m going to my room to get some things organized." She had a class tomorrow and needed to prepare a lesson plan.
