"Auntie, don’t wrap them all by yourself! Let us all help!"

Fu Mingxue chimed in, "Mom, bring them out so we can all wrap them together! It’ll be faster with a few of us working on it."

Mrs. Fu: ...?

’Wouldn’t it be faster if I do it alone?’

Still, after a moment’s thought, she brought everything out.

Then, the two little ones also joined in, making two lopsided, ugly dumplings.

Mrs. Fu: ...?

"The ones you two wrapped... we’ll give those to your mom to eat in a bit."

Fu Mingxue: ...?

’What did I do wrong?’

Qin Wenshu arrived at the perfect time, just as Mrs. Fu had finished boiling the dumplings.

As soon as Mrs. Fu saw him, she greeted him warmly, "Wenshu, you’re just in time! Have some dumplings, I made a lot."

Hearing there were dumplings to be had, Qin Wenshu was not one to stand on ceremony.

He said right away, "Well, that’s just perfect. I was just craving your dumplings, Auntie."

"Young Uncle, my sister and I wrapped some too. In a little while, you can eat all the ones we made."

Qin Wenshu’s eyes widened. "Really? You two even know how to make dumplings?"

"Of course it’s true! Grandma already boiled them." Qin Hao still remembered what his grandma had said earlier about giving the dumplings he and his sister made to their mom.

’That would never do.’

’They’re all just mushy skins now. Mom has to eat the good ones.’

’Since Young Uncle just arrived, he can have the bad ones.’

Upon hearing this, Qin Wenshu immediately said, "Well then, I’ll have to properly try the dumplings made by my big nephew and niece."

Qin Hao corrected him, "Young Uncle, my sister and I aren’t a big nephew and a big niece. We’re a little nephew and a little niece."

His little sister nodded earnestly. "That’s right. I’m a little niece."

The words of the two little tykes truly amused the several adults present.

Mrs. Fu spoke up, "Alright, everyone, hurry up and sit down to eat."

She brought out the dumplings, one plate after another.

As for the ones with broken skins—of course, she would be the one to eat them.

Qin Wenshu had quite the appetite, so he polished off all the remaining dumplings.

Qin Wenying saw him rubbing his belly and couldn’t resist kicking him. "You’ve had your fill, so spit it out."

Qin Wenshu glanced at the two children.

"It’s fine, just say it," Fu Mingxue said, doubting children so young could understand anyway.

Nevertheless, Mrs. Fu had the two children go back to their room to play.

She herself, however, stayed to listen.

She didn’t need him to say it; she already knew what Qin Wenshu was here to discuss.

Seeing that the children were gone, Qin Wenshu didn’t hold back any longer. "That woman was transferred back here with her husband three months ago," he said directly. "She had a daughter after she remarried. Right, and this new husband of hers also has a son of his own."

"She has her own children now, so what is she doing coming over here?" Mrs. Fu was furious.

’If the woman were a good mother, then she, of course, would have no right to stand in her way.’

’After all, no matter the circumstances, this was the children’s birth mother.’

’As a fellow woman, she could understand that much.’

’But this mother was no good at all!’

’What kind of mother abandons her kids when they’re so young just to run off and remarry?’

Qin Wenshu looked at them. "I found out one more thing. It seems that woman’s older sister-in-law has been married for years but hasn’t had any children."

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Fu’s face instantly flushed with rage.

"In her dreams." Damn her.

’If the woman had genuinely repented and wanted to take the two children back to raise them, she would have at least respected her for it.’

’But as it turned out—she wanted to take the kids back just to give them to her husband’s sister to raise.’

’The nerve!’

"Mom, why are you getting so worked up? Does she think she can just have whatever she wants in this world? Come on, don’t be angry. Go wash the dishes."

"Or you can leave the dishes. I’ll wash them later."

At that, Mrs. Fu just rolled her eyes at her.
