Fu Mingxue had everything she needed in her dimensional space, but she couldn’t exactly say that.

But she really couldn’t fall asleep without brushing her teeth.

So, she figured she might as well have him ask.

"—Alright."

Qin Wenhao walked out of the room, pulling the door closed behind him.

He was back in less than ten minutes.

In his hands were not only a basin, but also a towel and a toothbrush.

"This is a new basin. Wash up first. The thermos has hot water, so you can use that. I’ll go get some cold water."

Fu Mingxue immediately said, "You don’t have to. I can just go wash up in the wash area outside."

At that, Qin Wenhao said, "Then I’ll go with you. I need to wash up too, anyway."

"Alright," Fu Mingxue nodded.

The couple went out together.

They washed up quietly, not making much of a disturbance.

After quickly washing up, they returned.

"Let’s get to sleep."

They both got into bed.

After turning off the light, neither of them felt particularly sleepy.

In the end, however, Fu Mingxue groggily fell asleep—

Meanwhile, Qin Wenshu got home at around four in the morning.

He had originally planned to go to the Qin Family Mansion to see if Granny Qin was asleep, but he saw the lights were still on inside.

So he simply pushed the door open and went inside.

To his surprise, Granny Qin was just about to walk out.

"Granny, why are you still awake?"

"Never mind that. How is Wen Ying? Is she alright?" Granny Qin asked, her face etched with anxiety.

Her dim old eyes were filled with worry.

Qin Wenshu quickly replied, "Granny, the doctors said she’s doing fine. But Sister Wen Ying is under anesthesia right now. They said she’ll wake up in twelve hours."

"You’re not lying to me? Is she really alright?"

Granny Qin didn’t quite believe him. She was afraid the boy was just saying that to placate an old woman like her.

"Granny, trust me."

Just then, Uncle Qin’s voice cut in. "Ma, Wenshu isn’t lying. Wen Ying will wake up in twelve hours. Once she’s awake, she’ll be fine. The hospital brought in their two best doctors for her. You can rest easy now. It’s still early, so go get some more sleep."

Just then, Qin Wenze also came out of the kitchen.

Qin Wenze had heard Granny Qin come downstairs earlier, so he’d been keeping an eye on her.

He had only stepped into the kitchen to boil some water.

Now, hearing his uncle say that Wen Ying was fine, he also breathed a sigh of relief.

"Alright then, we’ll be heading out now."

Uncle Qin and his family had work the next day, so they had to leave.

After their family left, Qin Wenze persuaded Granny Qin, "Granny, now that you know Wen Ying is alright, please go get some more sleep! If your own health collapses, how upset will Wen Ying be when she finds out?"

"Alright, alright, I’ll go lie down." Granny Qin finally let out a breath of relief.

The moment she relaxed, an immense exhaustion washed over her.

’When you get old, your body really starts to fail you. Can’t even pull an all-nighter anymore.’

Seeing that Granny Qin was willing to go to bed, Qin Wenze also breathed a sigh of relief.

When Aunt Li woke up in the morning and was busy in the kitchen, Qin Wenze came downstairs as well.

"Aunt Li, please stew some chicken soup for my mom and Mingxue later. I’ll take it to them at noon. Also, could you make some extra congee and breakfast dishes? I need to go deliver a batch in a little bit."

Just then, Granny Qin appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. "Wenshu will be here in a little while. Just have him take it. You have children in the house; take them to school first."

Qin Wenze had no choice but to agree.

"Alright."

Half an hour later, the siblings, Qin Yue and his sister, got out of bed and came downstairs.

The moment they got downstairs, they asked, "Dad, how’s our aunt?"
