Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 632: Why Are You Carrying the Marriage Certificate?
"Dad, I don’t have anything tomorrow, so I’ll stay here with Mom. Let Wenhao drive Second Uncle and Second Aunt home first. You should go home too, Dad. Get some rest tonight so you’ll have energy for tomorrow."
Fu Mingxue didn’t suggest her mother-in-law go home because she knew it would be useless—all mothers are the same in this regard.
Qin Wenhao also spoke up. "Dad, you can come back tomorrow. Just let Mom and Mingxue stay here for now. I’ll be back in a bit."
Mr. Qin shook his head. "No, I’m not leaving."
A father’s love is like a mountain.
Though he was usually a man of few words, it didn’t mean he loved his daughter any less.
With his daughter lying in there now, his heart felt like it was being torn to shreds.
Qin Wenhao stopped trying to persuade him and directly handed the car keys to Qin Wenshu.
"You drive Second Uncle and Second Aunt home. Oh, and don’t forget to tell Grandma the good news tomorrow."
Qin Wenshu took the keys and said, "I think I should go check on Grandma as soon as I get back. She’s probably not even asleep. I bet she can’t sleep a wink."
Her most beloved granddaughter was in a life-or-death situation. If she hadn’t known about it, that would have been one thing.
But now that she knew—how could the old lady possibly get any sleep?
Qin Wenhao immediately said, "Fine. Go check on her, but if she’s asleep, don’t go in and disturb her."
Qin Wenshu immediately agreed.
Then, he left with the rest of the Qin family members.
The person who had driven for the Qin family then left on his electric scooter.
Meanwhile, Qin Wenhao stayed behind to arrange for a hospital room.
There were no single rooms available, but Qin Wenhao went to see the hospital director and managed to secure the empty double room.
He also found a folding cot and placed it in the room.
"You all can get some sleep. It’s perfect, one bed for each of you."
Fu Mingxue looked at him. "What about you?"
Qin Wenhao pointed outside. "I’ll sleep at the guesthouse."
Just as Fu Mingxue was about to agree, Mr. Qin spoke up. "Mingxue, you go to the guesthouse with him. Your mother and I will stay here in the room."
This was actually what Qin Wenhao wanted as well, but he hadn’t dared to suggest it, afraid his wife wouldn’t agree.
Now that his father had suggested it himself, he was sure his wife would consent.
Sure enough, Fu Mingxue nodded. "Alright then. Dad, Mom, you two get some rest as well, so you’ll have energy for tomorrow."
Mr. Qin nodded. "Okay. You two get to bed early too."
The couple left.
The guesthouse was located just outside the military district hospital.
When Qin Wenhao took out their marriage certificate, Fu Mingxue looked at him with some surprise.
However, she didn’t ask any questions.
It wasn’t until after they had checked in and entered their room that Fu Mingxue finally asked, "Why are you carrying our marriage certificate with you?"
She remembered them leaving in a huge hurry.
He hadn’t even gone upstairs.
"Well, when I’m not on a mission, I usually carry it with me. That way, when I’m thinking of you, I can take it out and look at it—to remind myself of my status as a married man."
Qin Wenhao said this with a perfectly straight face.
Hearing this, the corner of Fu Mingxue’s mouth couldn’t help but twitch.
’What does he mean, remind himself of his married status? Is he crazy?’
Just then, Qin Wenhao pointed at the bed. "If we keep dawdling, the sun will be up. Let’s hurry and get some sleep."
"I’m going to wash my face first." Fu Mingxue had a change of clothes in her dimensional space, but she couldn’t possibly take them out in front of Qin Wenhao.
Qin Wenhao nodded. "Okay. I’ll go get you some hot water, and then I’ll ask the front desk downstairs if they sell things like toothbrushes and towels. I’ll grab them for you."
