Chapter 822: Rex Family, Origins. Part-7.

During the five years of war, Farim and Meena endured hell and the abyss together, which in turn strengthened their relationship.

Death, loss of comrades, massacre of thousands, the two saw it all.

In just five years, more than 70 percent of the creatures living on the Maya continent were wiped out from the face of Earth.

Rivers of blood flowed everywhere, and even the soil beneath their feet became permanently corrupted with the dying resentment of thousands of innocent people.

The already dwindling population of the Dark Elves was reduced to a mere thousand by the end of the war, and half of the Maya continent was rendered completely inhabitable due to severe miasmic corruption!

There was no such thing as beauty, sense of adventure, or yearning for combat on this dark battlefield; it was a cruel war for the sake of survival and benefits, nothing more than that.

During the five-year war, Farim and Meena saw their juniors from the academy die horrific deaths one after another; comrades that used to smile and tease them for being lovey-dovey disappeared in the endless tide of demons.

The war on the Maya continent was a cruel nightmare that seemed to have no end to it!

Thankfully, Allen managed to put an end to this cruelty before the morale of the allied forces could completely shatter into pieces.

Dark Elven Royal Palace, Meeting Hall.

"The damage sustained by all of our armies is simply incalculable. This war has left an unforgettable mark on all of our nations..."

"Unfortunately, this is not even the end of it."

Hearing Allen’s words, everyone who was sitting in the room could not help but feel helpless and depressed.

The Dark Elf King rubbed his temples as he stared at Allen with bloodshot eyes and spoke,

"Sir Allen, you have done a lot for us; you are a remarkable ’Hero’... But although you have helped save the Dark Elves from going extinct... I fear that just assassinating the general will not stop the demon armies for long."

The Dark Elf King’s words carried a heavy and uncomfortable truth.

After fighting the demon armies for so long, they all knew that demons were inherently cruel and violent creatures.

They were simply not compatible with this world!

Demons even killed their own kind with inhumane cruelty, drank each other’s blood, and smashed each other’s children into minced meat just for the sake of pleasure.

The death of a single general will not change the mind of the demon army, and sooner or later a new general will emerge from among their ranks who would take the helm and launch a new attack!

"Allen, how about you and I sneak into the Demon Continent and kill the Demon King, completely solving this problem once and for all!"

Farim, who was sitting beside Allen, could not help but frown when thinking about how tenacious the demon armies were.

The sudden retreat of the demon armies after the death of demon general Rahn was a sign that killing the ’Demon King’ would likely bring peace to the world even if that peace is temporary.

"It’s pointless. The Demon King is just a ’Pawn’ of the ’Sea of Endless Miasma’... Unless we completely eradicate the demon race and eliminate miasma from the universe, solving the threat of demons once and for all is impossible."

Unlike in those RPG games where the hero’s party travels across the world and finally kills the Demon King to put an end to all evil in the world, reality was very different.

The power that created the ’Demon King,’ which is the ’Sea of Miasma,’ is something that can’t be solved just by killing the ’Demon King,’ as a new one can be created easily soon after the death of the previous one.

And the most unfair thing in this world is that the ’Demon Kings’ can keep appearing one after another, but the hero’s party only has one life to solve the entire problem.

If any of them died, it would be game over for them and the world too.

"Sigh... the Sea of Miasma is still too difficult for us to deal with right now, and it’s too far from our grasp."

"Until we get the capability to deal with it once and for all, we will have to keep slaughtering the demons again and again."

"In my personal opinion, it would be better to first drive the demon race to near extinction and then seal the Demon King in a confined space."

"Only one demon king can exist at a time; unless the sealed one dies, a new one can’t appear, so we do have a chance to make a significant change even with our current strength."

Hearing those words, the Elf King shook his head and spoke,

"Your plan is indeed praiseworthy, Sir Allen... but there is also a major flaw in it. With our current capabilities and army strength, we are simply incapable of driving the demon race towards complete extinction."

"For such a massive goal, we will need a massive army and a huge amount of resources... with our current capabilities, this war is unsustainable!"

At the Elf King’s words, Allen smiled as he asked Ivan to place a world map on the table.

On the world map, the various continents of the world and the various races ruling on them were clearly shown.

"The demon armies are indeed strong and powerful just like we have seen in these past five years, but do not underestimate the potential of the other races."

"The very reason why I entered into this war with my human armies was to show the world that if we ally together, we can repel the demon race and win against them!"

The entire world feared the increasing influence of the demon race and the continuously expanding ’Sea of Miasma.’

All races in the world were frightened by the power of the demons, and none of them wanted to end up destroyed like the Fairies.

This victory and this alliance were created to bring hope to this dying world!
