Great Freya Academy, Year 2074.

Farim made his way to the garden with clenched fists; he was ready to throw punches and break that so-called teammate’s bones the moment he noticed any weakness in the other party.

But just as he set foot in the empty garden, his gaze unconsciously shifted towards a girl who was sitting on a bench under the shade of a cherry blossom tree.

The girl’s light pink hair swayed in the air with ethereal elegance; her pupils shone with a brightness and a unique charm!

A gentle smile hung on the girl’s small but cute face as he extended her slender arm forward to catch a falling petal of the Sakura tree.

For some unknown reason, Farim completely forgot about his motive for coming here.

The hostility, the arrogance, and the violence ingrained in every part of his body like a sticky plaster suddenly became suppressed!

The cravings for endless combat, the cravings for violence, and the cravings for bloodlust, in that moment, Farim seemed to have lost them all as if they had never even existed inside of him.

His clenched fists lost strength and his eyes widened in awe.

Just one glance, it took just one glance for Farim to lose all his senses.

"How long are you going to stare at me like an idiot?... Come here, sit down. You are Farim Melok, right?"

The girl’s voice sounded like a gentle melody to Farim’s ears.

He was so stunned by her beauty that he couldn’t even hear what she was saying.

Unconsciously, he walked over to the girl and remained standing in front of her like a complete blockhead!

"Are you even hearing what I am saying? Farim Melok? Hello? Anybody home?"

"I am Meena Aalam. An A-rank healer, a student of magician Freya. Magician Freya was a friend of my mom’s, and I studied under her for a while until she sacrificed herself for the sake of the people..."

"For the past two years I have been studying under Madam Bela... or ’Astra’ if you don’t know... I have heard a lot about you, Sir Farim Melok; it’s a pleasure to meet you."

With a sweet and gentle smile Meena stretched her arm forward for a handshake, but instead of shaking her hand, Farim took the hand and bowed down on one knee before speaking in a calm voice,

"I like you, Meena Aalam. Will you marry me?"

Hearing those words, Meena almost fell down from the bench and fainted on the spot!

"Wha-what!?"

A look of shock and disbelief spread all over Meena’s face, as she had never, even in her dreams, had expected the situation to turn out like this!

Her father had died in war when she was still only two years old, and even as a child, Meena had lived in a secluded community with her mother.

Her mother was a strict person who taught Meena all her knowledge about medicine and herbs and later even sent Meena to Freya for further studies.

Thus, from a young age, Meena had been the type who was always protected like a flower in a vase and had never even talked to boys of the same age before!

She was completely inexperienced in the matters of love and romance!

Farim’s sudden confession was like a thunderbolt falling on her head despite the sky being perfectly clear. It was simply too unexpected!

"I have fallen for you on first sight, and I am the type that doesn’t like to beat around the bush, so I am confessing to you directly, I like you, Meena Aalam."

Farim himself did not know what had possessed him in that moment, but he simply could not take his eyes off the girl in front of him.

He wanted to protect her and be with her; it was simply incredible that he had become so docile despite being known as a ’Mad Calamity’!

"Err... I... I don’t know what to say... it’s too sudden. But I remember seeing in a movie somewhere that people often go on a few dates first to better know each other before deciding..."

"Err... how about we get to know each other better first?"

Hearing those words, Farim did not continue to press forward like an idiot and stood up from the ground.

He let go of Meena’s hand and sat beside her before speaking,

"Good, we shall go on a date tomorrow morning. I will meet you at the front door of the academy."

"So... you are the healer who’s going to be my teammate during the expedition to the ’Maya Continent’? An A-rank healer? That’s rare..."

Meena nodded her head at Farim’s words and heaved a sigh of relief after noticing that the conversation had finally returned to the right track; whatever happened earlier was simply too unexpected to fully understand at the moment.

"Yes, I will head towards the Maya continent with you."

"Healers are mostly low rankers, but you must not underestimate them. Astra, the first healer, is capable of killing several S-rank demons with a single attack you know."

"Although I am not as strong as Master Astra, as her disciple I have learned many skills from her."

"Unfortunately, I am not as talented as Master Astra. Perhaps the early stages of rank S will be my limit in this life..."

Hearing those words, Farim nodded his head and replied in a rare gentle voice that was completely different from his usual one.

"No worries, I will protect you even if you become as weak as a fragile glass shard! You are you; it doesn’t matter what rank you are."

"People’s worth is determined by their character and personality; talent and ranks are secondary."

"Being an S-ranker is good enough."

If Ivan were here, he would have fainted on the spot after hearing these words from Farim’s mouth.

The guy that was the most contemptuous of weak and talentless people was saying that talent and strength were not as important with his own mouth!

With just a smile, Meena had tamed the future strongest martial artist of that Era! It was simply unbelievable!

By the time Ivan found out about the matter, rumours had already flown far and wide that the ’Mad Tiger’ of the Great Freya Academy was tamed by a healer named Meena!

After a few dates, the two fellows had already confirmed their relationship and had officially become a couple in just a few days!

Astra, who had come over to check on her student’s situation, fainted on the spot after learning that her innocent little apprentice had been abducted by a rude and muscle-brained martial artist!

Ivan could only shake his head helplessly while notifying Allen about the situation.

Allen being the easy-going fellow he always was, he laughed at Astra and Ivan and actually took the two young lovebirds’ side by saying,

"Meena’s gentleness and warmth will cool down the violence-filled head of that restless idiot and will help him grow even stronger in the future!"

"Them becoming a couple is not a bad thing; it will be beneficial for both of them."

With Allen giving his approval, Ivan and Astra could only helplessly watch the innocent little Meena being abducted by the rogue thief Farim from right in front of their eyes!

The incident of Farim and Meena becoming a couple became so famous that people even wrote books on it and made songs about it at that time!

A month flew by in a flash, and the time for the expedition arrived. Farim and Meena, who had already practiced team cooperation tactics many times by now, boarded the magic ships without hesitation.

With all the powerful and major figures from the human empire onboard, the battleships of the human army sailed straight towards the Maya continent!

Elves, Fairies, Humans, Dark Elves, Orcs, all of the nations that had become allies directly or indirectly because of Allen’s influence, sent their armies to deal with the demon invaders!

A war so massive that it spanned over several continents ignited like a dynamite exploding and spreading debris everywhere in the nearby area.

Demons, monsters, humans, and elves all jumped into the meat grinder and fought tooth and nail with each other like mad dogs.

Ambush, counter-ambush, assassination, bioweapons, illegal toxins, pollution-spreading magic bombs! Any and every method was used in that dark work by both sides!

Demons had no morality, and they never cared about what was illegal and what was legal; to them, attacking innocent civilians or armed personnel was all the same!

Millions of innocent people died in the Maya Continent because of indiscriminate slaughter, and in retaliation, the allied force became even more fierce and started using banned weaponry like chemical weapons to poison or outright torture the demon armies!

The war raged on for five years continuously until Allen finally put a stop on it by personally sneaking into the Demon Army headquarters and killed General Rahn who was in charge at the moment
