Chapter 1391: I Can Understand
Chapter 1391: Chapter 1391: I Can Understand
"Um..." The nanny asked the butler in confusion, "How did the Madam know the Sir was in a bad mood?"
The expression on the Sir’s face was the same all year round without much change, so how did the Madam figure it out?
"Can the Madam be like us?" The butler reprimanded the nanny, "Go to work."
"Oh, oh." The nanny responded repeatedly and ran off to work.
The butler snorted inwardly, wondering to himself how he knew.
"Where’s the little one?" Charles Seymour carried Sophie Wilson upstairs, and not seeing the little one, he asked.
"Went to grandparents’ house," Sophie replied with a smile.
"Hmm." Charles responded with satisfaction, that troublesome little one was finally not at home, allowing him to have some time alone with Sophie.
Such quiet times were really too rare.
"You’re really responsible as a dad, always asking about the kid first when you get back." Sophie had spent a long time with Charles and truly found more and more good traits in him.
Caring, responsible, good temperament... now she really saw Charles as perfect in every way.
"Hmm." Charles nodded, "The little one is our child."
Of course, Sophie sometimes overlooked things, like underestimating someone’s thick skin.
"Why are you in a bad mood? Did someone bully you? Tell me, I’ll go beat them up!" Sophie jumped down from Charles and asked with hands on hips.
It seemed like if Charles said a name, she’d charge in and take on everyone.
Charles couldn’t help but let the corners of his mouth turn up, shedding all the little gloom from having met Frederick Cole.
"I met Chairman Cole," Charles said casually, "An old leader has heart issues, wanted me to operate, I refused."
Charles explained the reason to Sophie, who nodded, "You did right, without absolute confidence, it’s better to opt for conservative treatment in such cases."
Especially when comparing various methods, it’s clearly more beneficial for the patient to have conservative treatment without needing to risk surgery.
"Sigh... you don’t need to be unhappy." Sophie consoled Charles.
"I really can’t be happy," Charles said gloomily.
Thinking of the surgery reminded him of Sophie’s situation at the unethical company before.
Sophie’s days there, just thinking about it made his chest feel tight.
"Sigh, they say a doctor’s heart is like a parent’s, I understand your feelings." Sophie smiled and lightly patted Charles’s arm, "But you analyzed his condition, it’s ultimately not something you can solve."
"If you could solve it, you’d surely do it without hesitation, but you don’t have the confidence now, rushing into surgery might actually harm him."
Sophie hooked her arm around Charles’s neck, smiling and reassuring, "You don’t need to overthink, you’re human, not a god."
"What’s wrong?" Sophie noticed that after she comforted Charles, his eyes seemed a bit strange, as if a mix of complex emotions was churning within.
Though it was only a brief moment, she saw it clearly.
"Nothing, I think you’re right." Charles spoke earnestly, "I can’t save everyone, the key is choosing the most suitable method for the patient."
"Exactly." Sophie smiled reassuringly.
