Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1388: Only Sophie Remains
Chapter 1388: Chapter 1388: Only Sophie Remains
"Some people, the more you ignore them, the more they think they’re absolutely in the right." Sophie Wilson said angrily.
"These people never think they’ve done anything wrong, they live completely in their own little world. You want them to self‑reflect? That’s absolutely impossible!"
Sophie had plenty of experience dealing with this type: "So, we just have to make them feel the changes in the environment around them. Only when they’re abandoned by everyone and left with nothing will they..."
"Realize they were wrong?" Charles Seymour asked.
"Realize we are just too damn vicious, and that back when they treated us like that, they were being brilliantly wise." Sophie said.
Charles: "..."
In the whole world, the only person who could leave him speechless was his Sophie.
Sophie, what exactly is she over there trying to do?
"So, we’ve got to really hit them hard. With people like this, you don’t bother with reason—let them be as miserable as possible. That’s all that matters." Sophie said with a squinty smile. "Why the hell should I reason with them? With people who never talk reason and think the world revolves around them, I’m supposed to persuade them? Like I’m that free?"
"Mm, even if I were that free, I still wouldn’t waste time reasoning with them." Sophie thought of her own lifestyle and quickly added.
"Anyway, as long as everyone knows what kind of crap the Chapman Family is made of, that’s enough." Sophie said smugly. "Patients do want doctors with ethics. With people like them running a hospital, who knows what kind of shady things they’ll do behind closed doors?"
"Like leaving some hidden problems after treatment, right..." Sophie said with a squinty smile. "People are scared of overthinking. As long as they’ve got even a tiny doubt, their hearts won’t feel secure. And once that happens, the number of patients going to their hospital is only going to keep dropping."
"You’re out to completely destroy the Chapman Family." Charles looked at Sophie, amused. Sophie really was going all‑in on avenging him.
"How is that destroying them?" Sophie shrugged. "At most it just means their hospital shuts down and they lose the right to practice medicine."
"Oh, of course, if they really want to keep practicing, they’ll probably have to run off to some small county. In big cities, the Chapman Family’s reputation will be rotten. I’m pretty sure any hospital that wants to cooperate with mine won’t dare take in a single Chapman."
"Still, I keep feeling Henry and the others aren’t the type to sacrifice themselves for the sake of medicine."
"Even if the hospital collapses, the fortune the Chapman Family has piled up will still be enough for them to live out their lives in decent comfort. They just won’t be able to splurge the way they used to."
After all, with no income, savings only shrink with every bit they spend.
"Sophie really does see things clearly." Charles sighed.
So with Sophie Wilson and Charles Seymour striking together, the patient intake at the Chapman Family’s hospital plummeted.
The ones who had made appointments all called in one after another to cancel. Not even half a month had passed before Felix Chapman’s hair had gone noticeably whiter, new wrinkles had carved themselves into his face, and he looked like someone whose strength had been suddenly drained out of him.
Early in the morning, Felix still drove over and showed up at the hospital right on time. Only, aside from the cleaners and a few nurses, he didn’t see a single patient.
The doctors in the hospital were all hiding in their own offices. Whether they were avoiding him or plotting something else, Felix had no idea.
All he knew now was that his hospital was done for!
